    When are people going to learn that there is no release date? Although it doesn't help when articles make untrue claims and statements about a release date.

    Yeah this has been suggest quite a bit. Not the ai thing, but the trader cities and such. I'm not sure what Rocket thinks about the idea but I personally don't care about it. If they decide to add something like that into SA, then cool. However I couldn't care less if they didn't.

    ^This. I think it would work really well. I understand why people want 3rd person out of the game, but I honestly enjoy it. Not so that I can use it to cheat, but because it makes things like running long distances, checking out my character, and other reasons, more enjoyable. Back when I started DayZ, I had no clue how to go into third person, because I was on a laptop. I played for a good month or so in first person until I learned how to go into 3rd. While 1st did make it more realistic, 3rd helped with things like my fps, riding things like bicycles, and etc. Removing 3rd person wouldn't be a game breaker for me, but it would really suck.

    Well I'm several pages late to this thread, but everything is looking better and better. I was only able to watch a few minutes of the video but when I get home I'll watch the entire thing. Each one of these videos though, get me more hyped for SA.

    Yes, the only way to start a fire is with matches. Try checking grocery stores for matches. They usually have some.

    Like Statik said, it was probably just commander acting weird. If the server just restarted it might of been that, that was causing commander to freak out.

    You've been global banned by Battleye. There is nothing we can do to help you. You will have to contact Battleye http://www.battleye.com/ If you did hack though, don't even bother emailing them, because they won't unban you.

    I actually think it would be more cool to choose your characters background. That way it feels more like your own.

    To be honest I like 3rd person. 1st person does add realism but 3rd makes several things easier. For instance, I'm lucky to get over 20 fps in DayZ. On average I get 10-20. It is very annoying to play in first person with that low of fps. 3rd person also makes things like landing a chopper easier. You can only turn your head so much inside a chopper. In reality I would be able to lean over, actually use the side mirrors, and maybe even look out of the chopper.

    I think this is kind of what Rocket is aiming for in SA. He doesn't want a skill base like a mmo but he does want players to be more specialized in certain things than another player. Atleast that's what I think he means. I could be wrong. I think your idea fits for SA. Some changes and tweaks are probably needed for it but your idea seems like it's heading in the right direction.

    To be honest I'm not surprised that Origins would do that. I never really enjoyed that mod. I tried it several times but it just never grasped my attention. The only mod of DayZ I've actually enjoyed is Epoch. It's a good mix of vanilla DayZ and Origins I guess. I'd suggest giving it a try. Musty Gaming's Epoch servers are a blast so if you do decide to give Epoch a try, I would recommend checking out their servers http://mustygaming.com/wp/

    Sounds like it was probably a bandit with a hero skin. Unfortunately there are bandits who have a hero skin that go around pretending that they are friendly and then shoot people. However there are very few of those. Most heros you encounter will be genuine heros since it's not easy to get and keep a hero skin.
