I'm sure you've heard this one a million times well heres a million and one. Spent a few hours getting parts for ATV. Had it all geared and was on my way when I went over a bridge heading out of Cherno. It flipped, started on fire and blow up. All gear I had stored on it and hard work down the f'n drain in a matter of seconds. I love this game but if your gonna keep DayZ mod avalible to the public at least please fix some of these issues. I don't wanna hear crap about it being Alpha, that only means you need to complain and they need to fix things. Alpha doesn't mean you should continue to play a broken game. Thank you for your time...I feel much better now.

Just had a question to see if anyone else has had this happen. Not sure how to search for this problem so I'll give this a try. Sorry if it's been covered I couldn't find it. This happened in two different servers (both private servers I might add), differnt maps, Lingor and Cherno and only when I was flying a helicopter. The first heli was a little bird, the second was a Huey. I'm flying along and at some point the screen goes blank, I can still here the chopper engine going. I have to litteraly Ctl-Alt-Del to get out of the game. The weird thing is when I get back into the server I'm on the ground, unhurt and with all my gear that I had prior to the mishap. The heli is nowhere to be found, not even a crash site. Thanks for any response in advance.

Na. Probably not the monitor.Never did it outsied those two times and I play a lot of other games. I don't normaly even use the choppers because they are an easy target especially I solo 90% of my game time. I'll wait and see if it happens again though.

The thing is Zeds do not just gang up on a player before hand. If your running through the streets of a town in the middle of daylight, then your visibility is super high and your attracting them to you. So of course their going to chase you and try to slap you to death, its just their nature. I think if people are using the logging option just to get into a building safe and sound, might as well just remove the zombies from the game. Someone already said it - "Defeats the purpose" of even having them in the game. IMO.

Was playing fine all morning until this afternoon. I started to get this on a couple of servers now I can't get on any without this coming up. DayZ Commander 0.9.0.107 Steam Arma 2 Beta 1.7.3 98866 All the servers I try to join show the exact same version as I have. Windows7Ultima Everything up-to-date Yada-Yada

Say you place said tent...and then you leave and go off into the world to do stuff...and you come back...its dark...and you suddenly notice that all the trees look alike and you can't remember exactly where you placed said tent...becasue you hid it so well...and you start second guessing if your even in the right area... :rolleyes:

I hate hackers. They are idiots. I just switch servers. Eventually they'll get the idea that no one wants to hang out with them. ;)

Was casually checking out videos on some random sites throughout the internet one evening, on a site that had nothing to do with gaming or even DayZ for that matter, didn't even know DayZ existed and clicked a game video splash that showed a dude with a backpack and baseball cap - it looked ARMAish and what I realized after was the famous DayZ uniform - and watched it. I wasn't sure what I was seeing at first but then realized it had something to do with ARMA 2 and a mod. Watched three players walking down a road in the dark with flashlights, they seem to be in a slight panic trying to get down this road, then I put on my headphones and heard them talking to each other. Then something comes out of the dark and I hear one of them yell "ZEDS!" and they all start shooting it. Then they start running a little down the road, flashlights strafing the ground and they are screaming to each other to run. I'm like thinking to myself "What the f**k is this?" Then there was some more shooting, flashlights strafing through the trees then one guy yells for them to stop but stay on the road. Its dark, and one of them is slowly moving his light around the area. He goes "Hear that?" Theres this horrible noise coming up behind them and then the night sky is lite up with muzzle flash from their guns and zombies are running and falling. Being a big fan of Left4Dead and Dead Island I just knew at that moment what ever mod it was I had to have it. I did a search right after the video and found DayZ mod, the rest is history. :rolleyes:

I've been reading the suggestions and I have to say some are pretty good. But for the most part I feel like with some of the suggestions I'd end up playing something like Dead Island or Left4Dead and other "Zombie" based games. DayZ is a really good concept and we all know can and will be a great game, in standalone or continued mod. The game is survival. Its about starting out small and working your way up, finding proper survival gear and keeping alive. At this point, in alpha its just to easy. You spawn and within hours your at the NW Airfield picking up the good stuff and pretty much owning anyone in the game after that. People want this game to be even easer with high powered rifles, NV, silencers, rangefinders and the like, is it about survival or is it about killing ever one in sight and grinding gear? The goal shouldn't be to get the golden gun but struggling to survive long enough to get it. It shouldn't be to easy to get off the coast. Its shouldn't be to easy to find weapons and gear, or at least you should have to use wits or group up. To even think about getting near NW Airfield or the major cities for meds and weapons it should not be that easy. Beef up the zombies in those areas. Make them harder to get around, even in the dark. I've crawled by hundreds of zombies in the dark, in and out like flint. Crawled in and out of NW filed solo. Its about the basics, staying alive long enough to work your way up to the better gear. Food, water and bandage should more important then a gilly suit or a helicopter. It just seems like zombies are going to end up second level in this game. People are looking for bigger and better weapons, trucks, boats, trailers, a cabin in the woods, under-ground forts, vehicles that are indistructable...I'd like to play DayZ, not CoD. Just my opinion, no offense to anyone. :rolleyes:

I have been playing this game as "friendly" as possible but for the past few weeks I've been getting killed by people who don't even give me a chance to say the word "friendly". I can spend hours roaming the country side, avoiding zombies and picking up tid bits of gear just to survive when along someone comes and shoots me without question or care. Last night I had enough and decided that I was gonna just shoot and ask questions later and I happen to be on the top floor of the fire tower this morning, just picked up an AK and a few rounds, feeling pretty invincible when I heard someone coming up the stairs. I was shaking thinking about it. No way in hell I was going to get blasted...not today sir! This guy come up and sure enough I pulled the trigger - unloaded the entire clip. Feeling pretty proud of myself for my kill when I realized the person I just shot down in cold blood didn't even have a weapon. In fact he had the default items in his backpack. Probably just spawned in down the road like I did. Made his way here to find a gun or food just like I did. And so to you duder, whom ever you once were - please accept my apologies and hope theres no hard feelings.

A thing I did when I first started out was to play night maps only by turning up gamma and brightness you could somewhat see where you were going. You could literally walk/crawl slowly passed Zombies mear inches away and get into buildings very easily. It got boring pretty quick but at least I got some good gear for day time runs.

Played Lingor map today for the first time. Noticed that my character kept coughing. How do I get rid of the cough and do other players close by hear it and gives away my position? Obviously the Zeds do not hear it or I would have been dead a few dozen times as they passed by a few feet from me. Never noticed the cough on any other character before this, something new? If you say its just me - I will find you and spread my germs all over you... ;)

Crap. Yeah I've used a few heat packs, that helped. Ok thanks for the help.

I'd be a little concerned with the graphics card but the rest looks capable to run DayZ. According to some reviews the card is low end though I don't know much about Radeon. Its quad core and thats good. It doesn't calim to be a gaming system. Just my opinion for the price you could do much better if you shop around.

I play as "friendly" as possible. I've yet to gank anyone but have had my share of it. In fact I don't really bother to kill Zeds if I can help it. I think in a real world situation hopefully people would actual help each other out instead of pulling the trigger but of course this is just a game so I accept anything goes and there are bandits and those who play this like its Modern Warfare and anything that moves must die. I have to say the funnest thing that happen to me, I'm inside the grocery store, with a broken leg, looting for food when I hear a few gun shots from down the street and I freeze in place waiting. Then I hear a voice of someone asking me "Hey you in there. Are you friendly? Come on tell me, friendly?" and I'm like "Yes sir I'm friendly." Then more gun fire outside and Zeds are running around, more gun fire and then its quite. I'm still waiting there when this guy runs up and shoots me dead through the windows. Later I realized that the only reason my life lasted as long as it did was this guy somehow attracted a ton of Zeds and was trying to kill them off before he could get to me. So thank you poor little Zombies...you are now my friends. I'm just sadden you didn't prevail in draining that guys blood before he got to me. :D

Waiting on "Stand Alone" and hopfully bye bye dumb cheaters.

Some big bad guy with a Gillie suit, probably GPS, night vision and thermal, sits on a mountain top waiting the entire game for you to run in to his view. He doesn't care if you have no gear, a little tiny pistol or one can of beans, hell no. He doesn't care if you've ran, crawled all over the map dodging zombies and other players who might kill you for a can of Pepsi. He's sweating in his headset talking to himself until you blast into view from 500 yards. "He we go boyees, the moment I've been waiting for all my life. This will go down in the history books as one bad ass head-shot. Fraps on..." Oh yeah and another thing. Its easy to find your tents hidden up on the mountain tops. Raided them many times for little items but always left the good stuff out of respect...not anymore. ;)

Got that lastnight...It counted to 60 then dropped me like I was hot. ;)
