    1.7.2.6 Debug .. Bug

My biggest problems are not knowing that I'm bleeding until I see the trail of blood or I notice the counter going down, and the fact that I use the noise/sight meters heavily, and they don't work at all like they used to. Think I'm going to bench this game for a bit, it's really sad this new patch is such a bust.
  3. Regal Squirrel

New player looking to make new frends.

I'd suggest playing solo for a bit. I learned so much from my mistakes that I'm currently running around with okay guns but a decked out toolbelt and supplies to camp in the woods for days.
  4. I'm spitballing, but this game is in alpha. A lot of stuff gets lost in translation, so I've been told. My backpack used to eat guns and food and all sorts of things before I realized the problem. No, it's not your fault, no, you can't get the items back by asking, yes you can enjoy the little bit you have and spend some sweet time scavenging again. Rule #2: Don't get attached to your gear. I'd be mad too, but that's how this game goes. Earn it back. Although hackers are everywhere. It's possible it was sabotage. Edit: Sentence structure/spelling

a lot of work for a game that sometimes works.

It's a bit of a nightmare, and I went thru the same thing. I spent about 5-7 hours before getting the game to work at all. But there's a very simple fix that makes it easy to load games and play them. First off, if you can get the game to run, you're square. There's a dozen things I had to do go get Operation Arrowhead to function, and that was the bulk of my problem. Once you're in, you face laggy servers and wrong versions limit my play time. Download the DayZ Commander application. Once installed, in the upper-right, click on versions. Update them all to the latest version, then restart it. Then, on the left side of the servers page, there's a bunch of options. Most importantly, remove the games that are the wrong version, unavailable, or private. It narrows down the almost 5-thousand servers to a handful. Those ones will play with almost no problems. Adjust the max ping you want, survivor count, time of day and other aspects, and then get to playing. I haven't had a single thing wrong, except I needed to update, and that took about two minutes, and I was playing again.
  6. I was wondering about that. It's enough to kill a zombie in one shot though.

    Help!

As far as going into third person, hitting the enter key on your number pad (way off to the right of the keyboard) toggles that. As far as getting stuck on loading, the simplest and easiest fix is to download DayZ Commander, download the latest versions of Arma 2, the mod, and the application. Then, on the left side, you can choose your options for the game: Third-person on, tracing rounds, name-plates, etc. Above that are options to hide servers that don't accommodate you, such as ones with the wrong version of the mod, or those that require passwords.
  8. The crossbow is exceptionally glitchy. I've had trouble recovering bolts, killing zombies, firing accurately. It's only perk is it's silence. It could at least use stack-able bolts, maybe 3 to an inventory space?
