Fact is if your playing solo and given a time limit to get this 'cure' problem is finding the medicine, and then someone to apply it, not everyone is in groups so this would be annoying and not adding much to the game.

The maps need to stay large, whilst I'd love more towns, loot, and less running. My concern is when vehicles are added they won't be as useful as a means of travel, and much harder to hide when not in use or just approaching town without attracting every zombie and player in surrounding villages and cities. Perhaps for a smaller capacity server if one comes up in the future? but right now with everything Russian themed in Alpha, save it for Beta.

I think that's a great idea, but only if the player has been killed by a Zombie and perhaps not after an hour more like ten minutes.

First - the iron-sights don't function like others, you don't judge the aim by the top of the gun but the direction the two parallel lines on the sight are headed then you guess where abouts those lines would cross. But I agree they need to modify the model to include a more accurate sight. Secondly - if your out of breath, moving or lagging that can occur, if you stay still, catch breath and steady it by holding the right mouse button it should go straight. Third - Crossbow bolts only vanish on torso shots.

Trip Mines: Why they should be implemented
sgtsnug replied to Foolski's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I think mines would be more a problem then a benefit, a grefing tool, imagine if one was setup outside a store, or top/bottom of a ladder. And if a means to defend a camp I imagine alot of people would 'forget' where it is and at night ...well that would be really really difficult, as is were getting sandbags and stuff to build some means of defence. the flare or sound trip-wire is a yes, explosive, no. At least not right now, as things are, this is something to implement further down the line. -

Sorry but it's not realistic, if there was any infection in real life by what procedure aside an injection of antibiotics would you need assistance? I can understand you need help with a blood infusion cause I myself passed out when I gave blood I can't imagine it being more fun having it pumped into you enough you'd be so bold as to do it alone. Aside, if your playing solo it's risky, and it's more FUN playing in groups, so your missing out going all rambo on your own.

Crafting, the bane of many games in suggestion and demand. The only crafting that would make ANY sense in this game would be; Vehicles - which would requires MANY parts and a whole group carrying the bits to a facility/garage where it could be assembled. Ammo clips - this would require a change to the games loot finding bullets instead of clips, so if you found some 9mm bullets you could 'assemble' a M9 clip or a MP5 clip from those bullets and fill an existing clip back to full by manual reload and even remove bullets from a clip. I've seen this before but it requires ACE i think. As for body armour NOT crafted just rare loot like nvg's etc... possibly just bits that improve certain percentages like a 'helmet' preventing knock-out chance from 5% to 3%, or boots that lower chance of breaking legs, kevlar that reduces bleeding chance. Not overpowered loot just helpful.

I think the spawning system right now is all right, sure I'd like to see maybe a few more up the east coast for scattering. The main change to spawning we want to see right now is spawning at your tent. Which is on another thread here > http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=139

I wouldn't mind a rethink of all the guns that have been selected in the game thus far. Not just so it's all genuine Russian equipment but cause right now very few guns share ammo clips and it makes picking up certain guns a rather stupid idea for example the M9, M9-SD, M1911, finding the ammo for these guns is practically as rare as finding the gun itself and each gun uses it's own unique ammo. I'd like to see a focus on guns that share ammo types, like the AK's and Staneg's we currently have althou ammo is still a bit scarce for those (and we could use less 'big' loot sites for more smaller ones scattered about in my opinion).

Sorry but unless they get several more servers to host alternative map choices or we all vote for a specific map the current map has to remain persistent and cannot be cycled, why not? Because some of us are in groups, and have established camps with tents that are stocked with our supplies, if the map cycled over we'd lose everything each time, and as I see it they are trying to make the game more persistent with players establishing long-term plans instead of just hopping on playing couple of hours then dying.

You have my full support for most of these addon ideas, they would only enhance the experience and fix allot of issues in-game we all face. Deadfast's Elapsed Time Counter - not really needed. CLY Holster - a necessity! it would fix the ladder climbing issue alot of players especially newbs face that can result in broken legs. It would also be useful if your trying to not appear hostile or if you've alt-tabbed out and come back in, sometimes this makes players shoot their firearm and I can attest witness to this causing an accidental friendly-fire incident. Weapon Butt Attack - this is self explanatory, if your trying to be stealthy the last thing you want to do is shoot that 1 zombie that spotted you in town, giving us the option to punch his brainz in with two hits silently would help allot, or if your out of ammo and can't defend yourself. And as you pointed out in-case you just wanna knock a player out stealthily. CLY Morse - Sorry but no, radios make more sense ACRE would still be better option. I don't want to learn morse code and need to decipher a message saying 'who is that by the bush'. RUBE Weather Module - yes, I would love to see it rain or fog to roll in and make it harder to see, some immersion to improve the atmosphere instead of clear skies and sunny weather every day. AEG - ArmA Electrical Grids - this toes into my threat 'let there be light!' where I stated as the post above me has, fill up a jerry can and put that in a generator and the nearby grid will light up, not the whole map just the nearby area for I dunno, one hour? two hours per can? encouraging players to cooperate to get the lights on and gas it up at the power station. If the Staff don't take serious consideration into adding these mods I encourage we stomp our feets, cross our arms put on our angry faces and glare! GLARE till they feel uncomfortable by your presence and squirm...squirm into submission or closing a blind on their window.

Unlocks do encourage a 'goal' in game-play especially if there's a reward in this case a skin. The skin would also reflect your character's behaviour/intentions and possibly even the gear he carries, say for instance a player is dressed as a medic you'll know immediately he heals people allot so is either friendly or moving in a group, and is likely carrying medical supplies. This would also encourage specific roles in a groups for people to specialise so one guy IS the medic and carries the meds, while another might be the sniper and appear in a ghillie suit which makes him harder to see and also defines to others what kind of weapon he has and that he uses long-range and so to avoid any ranged engagements. I think as-long as they avoid the 'stupid' achievements like 'oh wow you logged in? your amazing' and kept it serious and challenging like for a ghillie suit you'd need either so many sniper kills in single life or a tally of 1000 zombie or 100 player sniper kills overall to achieve.

I agree that players should have some degree of customisation in their looks, so many times I've been in my squad and we haven't been able to distinguish who is who or one of us will go a little off his way and not tell anyone he's there and we'll suddenly think "oh god who is that?" it has lead to some regrettable friendly fire incidents. The morality system doesn't need be affected it could be done in a simpler more direct manner then implementing a complex system, which is listing in some config file for your character profile what skin (from those available) is your bandit skin, survivor skin, and if added good guy skin. I'm sure this would reduce any lagg caused by in-game skin changing.

This thread should be in general section or another not in the suggestions, suggestions is for alterations to the mod and not player advice.

Change Starter Pistol Back To Revolver

I wouldn't change the chance lower then 5% but I would change the length of a knock-out down some depending on how healthy your character is, say higher your blood the shorter your unconscious. To avoid a full health death by 1 zombie and a 45 second moment of unconsciousness.

Basically, No.

In my opinion it would work like this, you find a tent (rare as is), you setup tent, as long as that tent has items in it you can't pick it up again, if you die you spawn at your tent and have access to whatever supplies you have ferried back to it and keep you from spawning far off on coast. Your tent is only there while your on-line, anyone can steal from it and if empty steal the tent itself. This would be good for organised groups who have managed to actually find a tent each setup a hidden camp so when one person dies they know where he is and how to regroup. Not to mention it would make people playing more dispersed around the map, as is it's rather annoying cause most are on coast and chern or elektro, only stragglers up north. It's not like EVERYONE will have their own tent, I mean I've played all week and seen one tent setup, and one i could pick up. It basically removes the monotony of going through the same old places over n over again when you die.

Sorry but this idea has no place in the mod in my opinion, sure you could invent the story to go behind it but it would require lots of work to implement which could be spent on survivor related updates. It just seems like a method of griefing other players the extra mile and so it doesn't gain my support. Aside where is the incentive to kill players as a zombie? you get no loot out of it? revenge? you rarely die by gunfire unless you hang around the main cities anyhow, and even then you could be munching an innocent who just passed by and would be taken down by 1 bullet like any other zombie. It isn't worth the workload or time to invest.
