I too wouldn't mind being able to disable allot of the chat going on in the corner, since I travel with a group I don't read it at all most the time and to be honest it does take away from the immersion to hear every little whine from everyone on server and especially the incidental VOIP in side channel. Personally I think whatever channel you have active at the time, side, global, direct, should be the ONLY channel you see.

I have little to no experience in regards to programming nor much understanding of ARMA2's AI and how it functions, but will make a suggestion all the same. Zombies right now have one annoyance I'm sure is felt by all, once they detect you there's no escape, a death sentence if your sneaking in town as firing your gun will only attract more or have no ammo what-so-ever. I'm not suggesting anything over the top, more a opportunity to escape without firing your gun, I believe the zombies should yes head toward sound but only be capable of pursuit if they can SEE the player, if you run they will hear you and head toward you, but if you run through a building, hop a fence etc then hide, they should only go to where they last heard you. This would also make being heard through a wall less an annoyance, giving you time to hide quickly before they come in after you till they go away.

An Update to my Idea regarding Zombie Behaviour. As my OP stated zombies should only attack on Sight! If a zombie hears you, or your gun goes off they should change their current walk path to the source of the sound much like when you throw a can or a whisky bottle, and start moving toward your location on all sides like a typical zombie. If they are close enough the sound of your gun is Loud! say 4/5 bars on the hearing scale then they should engage you like normal, this to me at-least would fix MOST issues with zombies we have right now without rendering them entirely useless just more believable and to be honest FUN. I know people with an Enfield or a sniper rifle would appreciate that they can shoot without every zombie in 1km running after them, having them approach the gunshot by walking while not as immediate a threat would at-least let them know they can't stay there or they will be surrounded.

The idea of levels through amount of zombies killed is a NO, this games to offer people the chance to survive by ANY means they see fit, and some avoid confrontation with zombies by sneaking in for supplies then getting out. Some even set up camp, refill cans at water sources and hunt animals for meat, if you need to kill 1000's of Z 's just to get the knife and matches etc you'll likely be dead before you get the chance. And increasing one persons health above another makes PVP unfair and unbalanced. More Zombies? a few stragglers outside towns sure, but hostile animals in woods make more sense, and remember as is were trying to keep overall zombies down for less lagg. Base building with sandbags etc is already being worked on, you may have seen entrenching tools and sandbag pickups, just need to find engineering pack.

Zombies in the woods sure, random stragglers wandering around, as for animals yes we should have hostile animals, wolves, stray dogs, and bears, Stray dogs near or in cities on their own, wolves in packs in woods, and bears on own perhaps guarding a small gathering of food and such it's gotten a hold of. Like the zombies make allot of noise and can be avoided or confronted, plus animals can be gutted for meat thou attacking a pack of wolves may not be smart. And of course they shouldn't be VERY big in numbers, like current wildlife they should be few and far between. -
The game is supposed to be survive against the odds, hostile players are an obstacle that is to be avoided or overcome, grow some hairy nuts and venture out there, if your sick of dying by bullets either stop going to the main cities or go cry to your mommy. This is the apocalypse, not a playground. On the note of 'are you friendly' you have direct chat/voice, it's a little unstable at times but thats your method of communication, if it's not good enough for you then tough.

Well I've been proven wrong, would be a nice addition in this case, thou since you can burn buildings and forests may want to think it over if it permanently damages them.

and also increase inventory slot space several times over to carry different blood types. sorry but as is we need to carry enough.

The Only change I'd make to spawning is something discussed in another thread which is acquire a tent, set up your tent, and you spawn there, however it can be stolen/destroyed and as is tents are rare so not everyone will have one.

As it is they ARE making more lootable spots about the map, little army outposts and such. The cities shouldn't be barren but perhaps yes hold less high tier loot, encouraging players out of that death trap on the coast. -
You'd find more sympathy if you lost the raged language and approached the community with a little more dignity. Being knocked out is a annoyance I agree, something that could be tweaked but not removed. Perhaps a pick-up item that lowers the chance from 5% down to 3%, and making the duration dependant on current blood, high blood being a short knock-out, low blood a longer one. Preventing a full health 1 hit KO by one zombie.

I agree, zombies shouldn't be allowed to climb ladders, simply so were given another method of escape, as is there isn't enough ways to escape, they run faster then us, hit through, see through and walk through walls all too often, if you have no ammo your dead, so yes, ladders being player only would work nicely. I'd also like to put out there that if a zombie has lost line of SIGHT of you for 5-15 seconds they should disengage as well. Pursuit should entirely rely on sight, if a zombie hears you I think they shouldn't suddenly engage but move toward you like they do currently with a thrown bottle or can perhaps at a fast walk pace to compensate.

Dangerous wildlife in general, bears, dogs/wolves, that make allot of noise so you don't stumble on them in the dead of night, but they don't need to be zombies, one would assume the outbreak is species specific.

while a Molotov would be cool I don't think ARMA supports fire. And right now, there's no crafting. What you find is what you get.

I like it thou I'm for having skin selection in another thread and while neet it doesn't quite offer much variety like ghillie suits, medic, pilot etc...
