The ArmA2 engine is incapable of a dynamic attachment system. :( afaik.

As much as I hate being killed by other players, it's part of the survival theme of the game. I was all for turning off FF at first but now I realise that it wouldn't be the same without. The player should deal with moral issues themselves not the game. So, sorry. Disagree.

I'll look out for those, thanks!

A possible sleep system? Scenario: You've just survived an ordeal while out searching for loot. You've lost a lot of blood and have a possible infection setting in. You retreat back to your tent, you drink some water and eat some food, now its time to log off (it's late), so you set your character to sleep. When you relog back in, you've recovered some blood (not all) and your infection is looking better. It would take multiple, multi-hour sleeps in order to regain blood and cure an infection, but it will help out the next time you log in. Erm... has this already been implemented?

UK time. So GMT+1 at the moment. I do venture on to U.S. East Coast servers but it would be nice to be able to play on UK/EU ones too with less lag.

Bulletproof vests/flak jackets and helmets.

Nice idea. You find the jacket, but you might need the kevlar plating too? -
What about, 5 flares and a torch plus a handgun. Spawn with a torch by default (which has a battery life), if you need to take out zombies, lob a flare, then draw your handgun and shoot them. Then switch back to torch. It would be a slower process but the torch would allow a much better situational awareness at night. Flares could help where you need to use your hand gun and still need a bit of light.

Cool thanks Rocket. Good work! :)

Well I'm sorry you feel so inferior you felt the need to post that. I was just highlighting an aspect of the game that might want some reconsideration. Yes I am aware of the handgun slot.

...which means when I want to play DayZ it's usually late. This means that it's pitch black when I load up the game (aside from when I move to a different time zone) Not that I care so much about that, it adds to the immersion, but I would much prefer to spawn with a flashlight rather than flares. If you're an average Joe, who owns some flares? Probably no one. Flashlights are much more common. Do flashlights have a battery life? If not, then maybe add that? Flash lights of differing powers would be quite cool too. Spawning with flares is fairly unrealistic and not as fun.

I use TrackIR 5 for DCS: A10C and some other flight sims. It's pretty cool in ARMA as well.

Instead of player killing, mugging?
rossi (DayZ) replied to rossi (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
It could be a server side option so the hardcore players can still kill each other. It might be cool, if you want to mug a experienced player you need a few players to gang up on him. -
A server side option perhaps. Instead of being able to kill other players, have the ability to mug them for their stuff. The other play can possibly put up resistance. The more experienced they are the hard it is to mug them. That way players still get the benefit of taking players kit, but the victims are left alive (and possbily some kit still there).

I've created mods and ArmA missions and the scripting system is pretty straight forward. The messageboard would just contain text. Nothing else. A player would read it, ignore it, or do what it says.

Good idea. Once the 'fort' had been built, it would be cool to make a notice board system which you can record the requirements for the day. Players could then head out to look for these. Example: Player spawns into the server and is in the fort. Looks at notice board - 'Generator nearly out of gas, someone find some fuel' Player heads out (optionally) to find fuel This obviously leads onto other things, it would be neat to have some kind of cohesive community system, a sort of 'guild', but I hate to use that word in this context.
