I'm in two minds about this. Basically you just want one character to play as lone wolf and one character to play with when your friend is online. I'm in the same boat. I used to play lone wolf but then convinced my friend to purchase Arma and now we play together pretty frequently. However right now I'd love to play but he isn't online so I either risk losing my character which I pretty much built up with my mate or just not play. However the fact we're only allowed one character kinda adds to the tension and multiple characters could easily be exploited (e.g. use a fresh character to make trips to the NW airfield then place loot into a tent which your main character can take without risk). I don't think we'll ever see this implemented. -
What evidence do you have that the majority of players simply kill for no reason? Total conjecture. I'll killed plenty of people and every single time it was because I either felt threatened or it worked to my advantage. Yes the game needs end-game content and the lack of that is probably driving some players to kill simply for pleasure but your suggestion for artificial restrictions is just far too gamey. I like the PVP as it is...The lawlessness and savagery is what makes the DayZ world such an exciting one to survive in.

This happened to me and my friend after we killed some dude earlier. My friend looted him first then left some beans on the corpse for me to take. His corpse vanished but could still hear the flies buzzing. -
Me and my friend have experienced quite noticeable FPS drops since the patch.

I really enjoyed playing during the night until I realised this. Now I wouldn't mind if all servers just had 24/7 daylight. Totally pointless if people are just going to whack up their gamma and brightness. -

It's certainly misusing what it was intended for. There's also the problem of not everyone being aware that it's available/its benefits. Certainly a grey area. -
It's a server-side setting. If you're finding first-person view a bit clunky you can try disabling deadzone and smoothing.

The amount of zombies is good in the main towns. Perhaps tone down barn spawns and stuff as well as increase the respawn timer. I can't believe people would do that. It's a god damn alpha they paid nothing for. I'm sorry you have to put up with this and hope it doesn't make you think the entire community is full of entitled morons like that! Thank you for all your work so far. Some of the best PC gaming I've ever had. -
They're starting to get quite a reputation for this. They'll keep it locked for ages but use the old "we're staggering the number of players joining" chestnut.

It seems loot spawns will start to mess up if the server hasn't been reset within the past 6 hours or so. Hopefully rocket starts port blocking the offending servers as it reflects poorly on his game.

Some people do just kill for the laugh but I think they're in the minority. I've killed numerous people outside Cherno before. Why? Because I was scared to venture into the town myself for supplies. I knew that I could kill someone who just gathered supplies and take their shit without putting myself in much risk. That's the name of the game: survival. The bandit skin is already gamey enough, we don't need more of it. -
Sniper probably took him out but didn't retrieve the supplies.

The new zombie count is great. At best they were a minor annoyance in 1.5.6. It feels like 1.5.5 again. The respawn times do need to be increased slightly though. Having zombies respawn within an area I just cleared kinda breaks immersion.
