I have had this happen when going between servers that are from the same region and host. For instance, US East x-xx to US East x-xx. I will continue to test, allowing the 60 seconds and this time jump regions.

Another reason I think this is plausible is because you can get into servers so quickly in SA. It always took a while in the mod.

So I've seen and talked to a lot of players who have randomly lost their characters and been put back on the coast as a new spawn. This has happened to me a few times as well. I thought of a possible cause and have been testing to see if it is plausible. For me at least, it seems as these character losses occur when I exit the game and immediately go into another server. My thought is that maybe the server you are coming out of needs a few extra seconds to update the hive database and if you log into another server too quickly, the game has no save data for you. I have been testing this today and allowing 60 seconds between exiting one server and joining another and I have had no character loss. Just thought I'd share my thoughts. What do you guys think?

Happened to me a few times now. For the record, I wasn't intentionally server hopping. I had to log out for a few minutes and couldn't remember the server I was last in. There should be a "Last Joined" column at least in the History list.

Are we limited to our Steam ID as the only option for an in-game name?

Same thing happened to me. I started over after the wipe last night and ended the night with a decent character above Balota. Logged in today and all was well. Changed servers and was a new spawn.

Enabeling GUI (Debugg) causes thirst, blood, hunger noise and sight to misfunction?

I found this out the hard way last night and nearly died. I thought there was a bug in the game and I just wasn't getting hungry or thirsty. WRONG. When I changed servers (which turns debug off), I logged in to find thirst and hunger to be blinking and I was bleeding from it. I guess I will just leave debug off unless I need to see blood level or zombie count. -
