I know that feel. Heck, I fresh spawned at Elektro, ran into the grocery store and started getting shot in the legs by a nubcake in the corner with a makarov. Kept shouting friendly but he wasn't stopping :P Managed to find a winchester (with no intent on using it on him at the time) walked back in with my flashlight and was shot again, this time legs broken. I said "Fine, you want to play like that?" as his gun clicked from the empty mag, pulled my winchester out and shot him 3 times in the chest. He ran past me and got KO'd by a zed and eaten 2 seconds later. I just shouted, "How do you like it buddy? Huh?" I thought I was going to die in that first attempt, but he never tried aiming at the head. JoeDaddy92 EDIT: I think it was 2 shots. Not 3. Managed to makarov a guy who had an M4 with a silencer in the firehouse north of Elektro. Only took about 4 rounds and a bunch of swerving but I scored a headshot. :D Then I died moments later from passing out in the middle of some zed.

Okay, I know I'm going to be badgered for proof, but before reading this, I don't have any screenshots or vids. I usually record the majority of my gameplay via fraps, but I have a good bit of raw footage saved up to be compiled and I've gotten lazy :P . Anywho, moving on! DayZ- US 3484 for a few hours. The incident occurred around 11:40 PM EST (I live in South Carolina). My buddy Kenny (screen name Kenny) and I were on this server cruising around after he found a vehicle and I fixed it up. I saw some smoke in a field so I drove towards it, hitting a rock and flipping our vehicle. :( On foot now. We get to the crash site and find a ghillie suit (mine :D) and fight off some zed. Kenny gets hit a few times and comes down with an infection (still has it too). We start to hear some gunfire so we run into the tree line for about 5 minutes. We stop and plan out the course of action. Fast Forward about an hour or so We start to head to Stary Sobor in hopes of finding another vehicle so we can find some antibiotics faster. We start seeing people die in the chat one after another. I look at the player list and see a vaguely familiar name "Jean Phillipe". I kept telling Kenny that I believe he was a hacker and that I've seen him in other servers. I checked the player list about 10 minutes prior to the deaths and he wasn't in there so my suspicion lies on him. I told Kenny that if we see another death, we were leaving. Well, we were pretty isolated from everyone, about 300m-600m south of stary. I was on the tree line checking around the town for zed. Everything looked clear. We start running and all of a sudden we start getting shot at from about 10m by what sounded like an AK on speed (it was probably an LMG, but I've never used one so I couldn't tell) Kenny is on the ground bleeding, I'm shouting to him to abort (which he did) and I do the same before I die. I hate aborting like that but I didn't want to lose my character. I'm kinda surprised it let us abort since we were technically "in combat". Hopefully someone from Vigilant Addiction sees this and checks the logs (I may pop over to their website as well and contact them somehow). Until then, thanks for reading. JoeDaddy92

Not trying to start anything mate, but if they remove all the military aspects weapons wise, they might as well get rid of all the guns, bases and vehicles military related. Get rid of the military tents, smoke grenades frag grenades, Ghillie suits and anything else that might come up as "military related". The only reason there would be military equipment in the game is because of the military bases located around Chernarus. Take those away and we just have cities and industrial areas. JoeDaddy92

If we replace it with an alternative, do you think we could at least add some kind of thermal imaging like thermal goggles in as another vision item, making them separate from the NVGs and make a few more weapons with scopes NVG/Thermal friendly? But at least make the Thermals rare crash site/barracks loot? Just an idea. JoeDaddy92

Okay, so according to everything I have read on the wiki and through a good bit of the forum, the spawn settings for the Huey are limit one per server. I don't have proof as of right now, but when I get home from work I'll be sure to take a screenshot, my group has managed to comandeer 3 hueys. 2 of which are still able to fly. I don't know anything about a way to spawn in vehicles and what not, nor do I want to know, but these hueys when they were found needed repairs/gas. TL;DR I guess what I'm trying to ask through all the rambling is, "Is it possible to have more than one Huey on the servers now without hacks?" Thanks Much

Why are people calling themselves customers to this mod? Last time I checked, the DayZ mod is free and you either bought or pirated Arma II: CO. As far as I'm concerned, I'm an alpha tester until rocket requires us to buy it. JoeDaddy92

I personally love Fraps (never really tried any other program so I might sound a little biased) because during gameplay, you get an FPS counter, you can record anything without loss of frame rate, and as of the latest update, you are supposed to be able to record longer than 4GB footage. I use Handbrake to compress the footage down and until I'm able to get sony vegas from my school, I'm stuck stitching the footage in windows live movie maker. Only problem with that is that since movie maker stitches and saves the film in it's native format, I have to handbrake it again a second time -_-#.

Hi all, I jumped into a server this morning after a long night of awesomeness last night to see if my gear was still there. After about 5 minutes or so, I keeled over and died as well as everyone on the server. I figured it was a hacker and jumped off. My buddy Brian texted me at work saying we were raided and are vehicles were missing so I figured it was a server reset. My question is, when you are on a server that is in the middle of a reset, do you die and get fresh spawned back on the coast or do you die and respawn where you died? Thanks, JoeDaddy92

I don't think they have a particular reason at the moment apart from changing your outfit and logging off back on. Happened to me yesterday for the first time xD.

See, I've had a bug for the longest time. I was giving my friend a blood tranfusion (I had about 4000 humanity) and after everything was said and done, the game gave me the hero skin, reset my humanity and kills, and emptied out my backpack. Ever since then, everytime I get into a server, log off, and then log back on, all my debug info is reset, I have full blood no matter what I had, If I had a broken leg, I could walk around with no morphine, If I was bleeding, it patched me up, no pain, and it would dupe my body and all of my stuff. It was a blessing and a burden. But when I put on that ghillie suit, everything changed and none of that happened anymore.

Good morning/afternoon/evening one and all, Had a pretty good run last night with a couple of buddies of mine and figured I would share it with you all (I managed to fraps most of it too!) So there I was. Just spawned into a server (US 455) at elektro north fire station. I look around and find a dead body. Not much good on it except some ammo. My buddy Brian jumps online and says he is in NWAF. So I make a checkpoint on the map and run that way Leeroy Jenkins style. On the way there, I managed to find a heli crash site and after wiping out the zombies around it with my AKM and M9SD, I found an M107, Ghillie Suit, and 2 FN FALs. I take precaution to take off my backpack and put on the Ghillie Suit (first one I've ever found ^.^) then put my pack back on (ALICE). While all of that is going on, my buddy Zach is online and making his way to the NWAF as well, but he spawned in the middle of Elektro and jumped out and into an empty server to kinda get out of town without being shot like so many people want to do. Unfortunately, he jumps into a server that spawns him on the east coast, so it sets him back a bit. Brian is exploring the NWAF and I'm about 3KM from him. He logs out to go eat dinner and I make it to the NWAF. Zach is around Stary or so by the time I get there and I'm starting to get graphical artifacts -_-# so I log out and log back in (usually fixes it) but when I log in, I "die" and respawn in debug plains (first time there too, now queue the gamer chick girlfirend... *cricket chirp* XD) So I curse a minute, log out, back in, spawn at Balota with nothing. Not even a tin can (but still have my ghillie suit so I guess that's the price you pay eh?) I run through the city and search for some supplies so I can once again, Leeroy Jenkins up to the NWAF. I find a coke, some beans, and a hatchet and what not but I lose some blood to the zed chasing me. I find a crossbow with no ammo and discard it. So I'm running in the direction-ish of NWAF, cutting through a couple of towns and looking for more noms and gulp to get me to NWAF. I cut past Green Mountain, found a barn with a double barrel shotty in it to give me some kind of edge, run a ways down past a town, look to my left, and there it was. White Pickup Truck. I was cautious at first becuase I know people and their traps, but zed were hot on my tail, so I decided to risk it (after all, didn't have much to lose) and find a stache of weapons and medical supplies and noms/gulp. PDW, M1911, CZ550, L85A2 AWS, M4A1, AK w/ Kobra, you know, the usual :D. The truck was in great shape, so I haul ass giggling like a little school girl. After I find that, Brian logs back on and finds a tent in the middle of NWAF with more weapons. Someone's AS50 with Thermal Sights (I know I know, hacked/scripted in by someone else of course but when in Rome...) and another L85A2 AWS. So in my excitement, I run past NWAF XD. I drive through it after going to look for my dead body to see If I could get any of my things back but couldn't find it. Meh. So I go and do my best to drive through the artifacts and pick up my buddy Brian. We go and make a temp base somewhere. He logs out and I go to pick up my friend Zach (who jumped back into the server a while ago and made it to the NWAF) and we head towards our favorite campsite (cannot disclose the location of it due to the rapid increase of bandits). And on the way, I kid you not, we find a boat, GAZ, and bike spawned in the middle of this field. So I know now that we are dealing with Skiddies on the server (because anybody can carry an AS50 TWS with them from server to server) so we drive over to the vehicles and I take a look at the GAZ. Low on fuel, needs a tire (which I have thanks to the gent who left that truck lying around) and a new fuel tank. I put the tire on and load it up with some gas and go to pick up my buddy Brian while Zach heads to base camp. On the way there, I find either the same crash site or another one, find another M107, and a PP-19. Zach drives over to me, I give him the M107 because I'm not a sniper (even though I'm wearing the ghillie, I like the L85 just fine ^.^) and we fill up at a gas station and part ways again. I pick up Brian and a few minutes later, successfully make it to base. Unpack and get everything taken care of. Not bad for a couple of hours eh? I logged in this morning to check on our supplies and got nuked along with the rest of the players on the server (that part I didn't get on fraps, didn't bother to run it since I was on the way to work) and D/C'd in hopes that I can make it back to base. I just had to post the shenanigans (from what I remember) and since I got the majority recorded, I'll fix it up and youtube it and post a link for those that enjoy watching other peoples gameplay and what not. Yeah, I figured as much. meh, I've gone through worse. at one point, everytime I would log on/off/on a server, I'd have full blood and ammo, but no kills and no humanity. The ghillie suit fixed it apparently because it spawned me in debug plains and when I got back, I had 23K humanity and all of my kills etc.

From what I'm hearing from my friend Brian, the server was reset and all of our vehicles are gone as well as the contents in our tents. Talk about rotten luck :/

a lot of times they are scripted in. I'm thinking that the tent was bait setup by a sniper who wasn't online at the time. Call it what you want.

Okay guys and gals, I was running around last night through elektro doing some experiments with flares and chemlights. I was in a US server and it was night time. I usually try to get into the unpopulated servers so I don't really have that fear of being shot in the back since nobody throws out a warning anymore. So I'm in the church, I had an M4 and a G17 loaded with SD mags and zombies swarming in from a little late night run. I throw a couple of flares down and grab one and run east and north towards the firehouse. I make it right around the outer wall of the firehouse and hear gunfire (which scared the crap out of me because I didn't realize that people were hopping into the server xD) and I fall, legs broken, and get knocked out. Guy executes me and I die :( Respawned in Cherno (go figure) and I perform a Leeroy Jenkins straight to elektro in hopes of getting my stuff back. Constantly checking the playerlist to make sure nobody else is popping in (the guy that killed me left afterwards), Im booking it down the road and make it back to elektro. I find my body (and get all excited) and see that there's an AKM sitting on my back instead of my M4. I'm sitting here thinking to myself, Motherf@(#er, I'm going to get an empty gun. Much to my surprise, the guy put an AKM with 3-4 mags on my person as well as swapping out my G17 for an M9SD with an SD mag. I'll take an M9SD over a glock most days just because I like to play on day servers more than night servers, but I was kinda heartbroken that I lost my combo of guns. TL;DR, which combo would you rather have? JoeDaddy92

It's so easy to find ammo for the G17 because it uses 3 different kinds of magazines XD.

I believe I found the M4A1 in a firehouse last night. traded it for my M16A2 that I found in another firehouse. As for ammo, I seem to have the opposite happen to me. Everytime I check the firehouses or airfield, I find beaucoup AKM Mags.

I believe it's from servers not resetting frequently. Usually try to look for the ones that reset every 6 hours or every day. I have no problems on them and get 60-80 fps with vsync off.
