There is no way, since you always have to pop out your head before you can even see them, let alone shoot them. What I do is 3rd person look behind me every single time I come up that stairs and if there is someone showing off their cowardice, I'll simply leave, because there is no way in hell I can get the jump on them from that angle. Until (home-made) grenades get added to the game, that is ;) EDIT: If you're talking about players looking down from the top instead of waiting behind the top of the stairs, I've had some mighty satisfying results from the sawn off. The best one yet was a fully geared guy with press vest and helmet peeking down from up the stairs, behind the railing. Just his head and shoulders were visible and one shell killed him good and fast. Litterally everything was ruined though haha.

I believe the zombie and animal AI was the same (or at least extremely similar), so they should be able to hit two birds with one stone there.

Then you come along with malnutrition, which has nothing to do with whether a rabbit contains nutrients or not. Ah you mean the guy who said that rabbits don't contain any nutrition. You're implying that protein isn't nutrition? He said rabbits don't contain any nutrition whatsoever and I simply said that's ridiculous, which it is because rabbits obviously contain proteins. That's really all there is to it. I didn't say that he could live off solely rabbits or anything that implies such. It's like warning people that they can't eat candy for the rest of their life because it doesn't contain all necessary nutrients, people can think for themselves.

I said certain foods have too much of a certain nutrition and too little of another, both of which are harmful to the body. You're saying the exact same right now, protein being the excessive nutrition and fat the lacking one, so I don't see why we're arguing still.

Good idea, actually. Bolts are supposed to cause death by bleeding, so if it takes like 30 seconds to remove the bolt (making it necessary to find proper cover as well) bofore you can stop the bleeding it would make the crossbow more realistic and a viable choice for killing. It would seriously hurt a player to hit them with a bolt during a firefight and really making him bleed for a while. I would really like this.

TBH, I would die a little inside everytime I see someone running around with an unrealistic exotic weapon in a game like DayZ. It would seriously screw the game up for me and I'm sure many others. But to some degree I agree with your post. A bison for example, though not unrealistic at all, would be less "boring" than an MP5.

It is a form of malnutrition caused by eating too much of a certain kind of meat. I read the first segment and recognised what it's about, then I commented about what I know about malnutrition. And btw, next to too little of needed nutritions, too much of the same one can also be harmful to the body. For future reference, please only post about things you actually know stuff about, rather than posting a wiki page you misread or something.

He probably sucked and only shot you in the leg or something. I shot someone in cherno in the guts with it and he instantly died, so the damage seems fine to me. Never had any trouble with it and it's my go-to weapon.

Well, if they're not planning on adding more ammo types it could be .45 and 9x19 parabellum. So I guess the Bison, PP-2000, Skorpion vz. 61, MP5 as viable options IMO

That's caused by eating the same food and nothing else, not eating rabbit. Rabbits contain certain nutritions you need, but other nutritions you also need, have to be consumed by other means. Eating rabbits only will not get you all needed nutritions and eventually you'll suffer from malnutrition. D'you think you can survive eating canned beans only?

I think limited storage would solve this. Imagine only being able to stash two primaries, two sidearms and 20-30 item slots. This would turn storage from hoarded high-end gear to just a survival stash of a player. I would love to stash different outfits and for example wear my press vest and black clothes if I'm going to a CQC area to loot, but the UK vest and camo clothing if I'm going out sniping. Yes, clans will be able to make huge camps, but it's still 2 primaries, etc. per player, so I'm fine with it.

The semi-automatic fire is probably just placeholder for that reload animation we saw in the vid. At least that's what I hope... And rail accessories on crossbows is possible, so I'm not sure what you're trying to say there.

Really? I must've missed a dev blog then. The last one I've seen only featured a crappy home-made bow with wooden bolts. A modern crossbow with steel bolts would definitely find its way into my inventory

The problem is that the in-game bolts are probably gonna be home made wooden ones. That's what I had in mind while writing my last statement. Still, I had no idea that steel bolts could penetrate armour like that. I hope we'll also get rarer steel bolt spawns that do a lot more damage and penetrate more easily.
