I'd also rather a puzzle. Perhaps pieces of belts which can be combined to a full 100 belt? I'd love to see crafted belts with a chance of jamming, though.

I see nothing wrong with shooting someone in the back after making clear you want them to stop. You don't listen to the man with the gun, you pay the price. I'd say OP is a survivor, slightly leaning towards banditry.

I'm not sure what holds bullets together to form a belt, but it should be a pain in the ass to craft it, with a 10% chance of jamming. Finding a pre made belt should work perfectly, though. Furthermore, handling an LMG should be unforgiving. No ability to sprint, increased water/food consumption, pretty bad sway when not resting the weapon, extremely rare ammoboxes with pre made belts, rare empty ammoboxes to be filled with crafted belts. It should be good, but only in the hands of a pro. It should be so horrible that a noob wouldn't even dare touch it due to the horrid maintenance. The performance should be pretty amazing, on the other hand. LMGs are accurate enough to use as a marksman rifle, are capable of auto fire, should be the best PvP weapon from mid-long range.

Loneliness is slowly turning you insane. Soon you'll start seeing stuff as well :o

What clothing set/weapons would you add if you could?
liquidsnake replied to SomeCallMeNomad (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
This! And for the love of God DON'T MAKE THIS A PEASHOOTER LIKE IT WAS IN ARMA. Same for other armour piercing rounds with small calibre. Now the damage is based off the size of the bullet which is all wrong. Going by this system, a .50 BMG round thrown by hand is more dangerous than a 5.56 shot from an M4, it's ridiculous. It's all about the penetration (well, it's a factor :D). -
Anyone worried there will be too many ammo types ?
liquidsnake replied to gibonez's topic in General Discussion
Completely agree, simply exploding would be boring. Being ambushed like that would be an absolutely mindblowing experience if done right. -
I'd say some kind of god mode. No way that desync caused all that, the guy was impervious to bullets. Did you confirm all the hits?

Maybe they didn't want Arma 3 vests. They probably want to make vests specifically for DayZ. I also heard something about it not fitting correctly on players, something with the engine I suppose

I'd love to see the R700 and SVD. Furthermore, I'd like a bright blue UN vest with 4-6 slots and more protection than the press vest and layered clothing. And fingerless gloves and a bandana that doesn't cover the hair for pure bad ass. -
That one is supposed to be removed. I haven't seen one ever.

I think the cold feeling was caused by the lack of fluids, since blood plays a role in keeping warm. The light-headedness was definitely lack of blood cells AKA hemoglobin delivering oxygen. So in real life it'd probably take about 2 days to get full blood back. Looks like I guessed just about right B) In game I think 12 hours to regain full blood is plenty, gameplay wise.
-
A saline bag shouldn't give back blood units, it should only "hydrate". When you lose blood, you lose both fluids and blood cells. The fluid should instantly be regained when using a saline bag, but it obviously doesn't contain blood cells. Your kidneys sense the lack of oxygen and release a hormone which stimulates creation of extra blood cells in the spinal marrow. That way, your blood regains the blood cells. Obviously, building extra cells is pretty demanding for energy and components to build them from. Both are acquired by eating. Don't know how long this regeneration takes, though. I guess 1-3 days or so, but for all I know it's just 6-12 hours. TL;DR Saline bag takes care of lost fluids, food takes care of lost blood cells.

This is obviously a topic about weapons... He's talking about weapons

Do you kill people with the payday masks on sight?
liquidsnake replied to meat pie's topic in General Discussion
Last one I encountered has a .357 hole in his mask. It just seems pointless and perhaps childish to wear it. You're a survivor, see a stupid clown mask and decide to wear it?? The only real reason to wear it is to look menacing (like some warpaints are supposed to) , and anyone who wants to look menacing isn't gonna be friendly. So basically it's either gonna be a psycho bandit or a kid who thinks it looks cool. Definitely a bullet in the chest for both. They look like morons and I'll kill 'em for it -
Anyone Find the Engraved 1911 HandGuns?
liquidsnake replied to Deathlove's topic in General Discussion
More mags. And the gun looks better (shouldn't really be a factor but what the hell). I gave my FNX with red dot, flashlight, 3 mags and suppressor to some guy I came across the other day. The engraved M1911 I would absolutely not give away. -
The problem with this is that magpul vs. stock parts don't make much difference other than a little weight and it renders the gun a bit less cumbersome. It doesn't affect how the user handles the weapon and especially not the handling of the weapon itself.
-
The devs quickly fiddled this system together, as did the CoD devs lol. the difference is that in this game, it'll be changed for the better.

Works like a charm for me. I one-shotted some guy with a press vest and ballistic helmet who was peeking down from the upper part of the prison just a few days ago.

Wich vehicles do you want to see in the SA?
liquidsnake replied to Ep1cNiki's topic in General Discussion
Why, though? Shifting really isn't that demanding. It becomes an automatism after driving for just a few months, maybe even weeks. In my eyes it'd be like having two seperate keys for each foot to simulate walking. This isn't racing, where you have to be in a specific gear to corner as fast as possible. It'll be a gimmick to say the least -
This. G3s and FALs shouldn't have rails and maybe even no attachments at all. I'm thinking they shouldn't add attachments for the AKM either. The AKM, G3 and FAL should be more powerful than the M4 at the expense of attachments like ACOGs and such.

I've had virtually no back stabbing encounters in DayZ. I was back stabbed 2-3 times when I just started playing the mod. After that, I kept my eye on my new "friends" and I suspect that was what kept them from being tempted by an easy kill. Never let your guard down, don't give them a chance. Only consider them an actual friend when they're in your steam friend list. It helps.

Hunting- It better be damn hard
liquidsnake replied to hannibaldaplaya's topic in General Discussion
That doesn't sound promising.... I know I'll probably act like I can't just walk up to them for immersion sake, but it won't be the same sadly -
Wow, the ballistic vest is rare as hell. That thing's existence is a myth! You sure it's not a press vest or anti stab vest?
-
To everyone saying the M4 and other guns don't fit DayZ either: remember that the UN was present in Chernarus. this easily justifies the M4, G3 and FAL spawns.

The AKS-74U is still not an SMG... They also said no new ammo types, so it's gotta be 9x19 parabellum or .45. Hopefully the Bison or the Skorpion.
