What tool did you use to generate the land? Did you code your own program to set each individual cell block in a save file?

Anyone know how to convert the .rar file into something that Lua or Visual Basic can understand to create a table with the coordinates? Like CSV(Comma Separated Values)

Okay let me rephrase my request: I'm looking for the same program some people used to create the heightmaps. I doubt they got a big picture of the map, and then proceeded to code a program that would read the countour lines, and the depressions on it, and interpret it as accurate altitudes.

If there is no such program, then how have people made heightmaps? Certainly not by using GPSes.

I mean an actual program that will get the coordinates you choose, or maybe a program that convets the map into a table of coordinates and their altitudes/terrain type/etc

Are there any programs out there that can read a DayZ map and tell you what the altitude of the land at, say, coordinate 950,665 is?

I alt f4 because of zombies. I specifically go to small servers because I'm not a PvPer. Only killed one person.

Okay thanks. I have somewhere around 300. I don't look to kill anyone, that's why I usually go in servers with less than 4 people.

I've been playing maybe 12 total hours, and last night I was snooping around the big airfield, and I heard constant gun shots coming from somewhere, and zombies running into a fire station. I usually play in very small servers to avoid pvp because I suck at aiming. But I didn't feel like leaving the airfield I just arrived in from a long walk, so I decided to go around the hangars and into the station. I saw the guy with an AKM, and I shot him up with my MP5. I got a murder, first time I ever shot someone. Am I now automatically a bandit forever? If so, does it go away, without giving medical supplies to other survivors?

Thanks guys. Pretty dumb of me to not even notice that :P Does anyone happen to know how to get texture files out of games? I've been searching on google for stuff like tree 2d texture, or grass 2d texture, and I haven't found many good images to create the necessary trees/grass for cover.

I'm making a dayz replica on a game called roblox, and it would help me loads to be able to build the map(or part of it, it's huge) with the real thing right right beside it to make it more accurate.

DayZChernarus or something like that. I recently found out many servers are named that, so I forgot the server I went to regularly.

I try to avoid those two cities. Only go in for matches and morphine.

Okay, then let's just remove loot all together, because the common barn in real life doesn't have a winchester, can of fuel, and 3 axes just laying around.
