you will need to find a weapon first,you can pick a weapon up from the ground if you find one by pressing the middle button, or the one you have hotkeyed to it!

Ok, so until I find a map it will be pitch black? also, where can I usally find one? since I am running around in the mountains failing to find a way down.

So I've just started playing Arma2 DayZ, I am ingame running around and everything seems to be working fine, EXCEPT that when I press "M" to access the map it doesn't show anything, it is only a black screen with 6 options in the top left corner. (Map, Notes, Units, Players, Statistics, Sever control) When I select Map it is only a black screen, can't press anything nor see. Do I need to find a map before using this feature? or can I fix this somehow?
