I'm pretty sure they understand how duping can ruin a game. What a stupid thread.

I seem to do fine when I stay out of high population servers. I was alive for about a week. Finally died about 5-6 days ago I had 901 zombie kills too. I had so many good items too. (I went to Cherno on a high pop server though, go figure) However, I've been murdered on low-population servers by a hacker once. Just the other day I got teleported to an island on a high population server. All my items were removed and I was left with a crossbow. After finding range finders AGAIN. Ugh

I really think the negative status should have a cap. Going both ways. Also I've noticed sometimes killing people with a bandit skin will lower my humanity and sometimes it raises it. That just isn't right. I'm not allowed to preemptively defend myself from someone who is a bandit?

They should really add cigarettes to the stand-alone and people should use it as currency. It would be badass on many levels. Especially if you can smoke them too.

Bumping my old topic, but this story is hilarious. I finally got around to reading it. I've got a new one. Me and 4 other friends were in Cherno. We were all armed to the teeth. Fal, Saw, 2 AKS and 1 Enfield user. We're running down a street and suddenly this lone bandit runs around the corner, he turns and spots us, and he starts yelling gibberish at us over coms (Different language). We had no clue what he was saying but we all ended up all blasting him. My friend panicked and wasted a whole FAL clip on this poor sod, I put like 10 SAW rounds into him. It was overkill to say the least. I keep laughing about it though because we were going crazy over skype during it. So funny... ah good times.

The only downside to global chat was the morons who'd mic spam it. (Which could be fixed with some work) Other than that I had absolutely no issue with global chat. It actually made the game more enjoyable for me because it helped create a community. Sometimes playing in complete isolation is boring. I can see why they'd want it disabled, but it should be up to the server host if they want it on or not. If someone doesn't like global chat they can easily play on another server that doesn't allow it, and vise-versa.

Out of all the guns I've used the Lee Enfield is still one of my favourite guns in the game. G17 is my favourite handgun. When I kill someone with a Lee Enfield I feel like I've accomplished something.

You definitely made the right choice.

I don't mind mentoring people. There are a lot of little tips I can give you right in this thread though. 1. Learn the map. This is absolutely important to your survival. 2. Learn what spawns where. This almost as important as #1. 3. Zombies can't run indoors. They have to walk, use this to your advantage. 4. Don't get attached to your gear. Dying in DayZ isn't a matter of will I die? It's a matter of, when will I die. 5. Have fun.

Log off delay would be fine. A lot of games already use that method. So even if you Alt + F4 out your character is still technically stuck logging out for an X amount of time. 10 second delay would be sufficient. I know this isn't a fix for everything but it would be enough to stop people from Alt + F4'ing out of heated combat moments.

DayZ Commander and Play WithSIX are great programs. So far Six Launcher is the worst. Not sure why this site endorses it so much. But yeah so glad I gave DayZ commander a try. Now if only I could play DayZ in general..

Well this is a load of crap. Past 3 weeks have been riddled with crap. I don't know how many times I've had to reinstall DayZ and update this and downgrade that. Ugh But yeah can't connect either.

I'm sure this thread has been done a million times over but I'm new to the forums. I've been playing DayZ for about 2 months now. I do love the game even though it has many annoyances. Here is my funniest DayZ moment: I was running to Stary Sobor and I happened to find a random motorbike in the middle of the woods a kilometer from Elektro. I rode it all the way to the NW Airfield before I started to run out of gas, so I headed back towards some other town. I couldn't find a jerrycan for the life of me (Go figure when you need one you can't find one, and when you don't need one it's all you ever find). I ended up finding a red CAR sitting in this middle of some town. I was so surprised. It was the first time I found vehicles since I started playing the mod. I head back to NW Airfield. I get out of the car to loot the tower and I hear gunshots in the distance. I immediately run back into my car and drive towards the gunshots. I see a lone survivor running from 3 zombies right down the middle of the runway. I chase him down in my little red car and run him over. He didn't die but he passed out and I watched as the 3 zombies killed him. I got out and killed the zombies and looted him. He only had a revolver with no bullets left, scrap metal, and some bandages. I sometimes feel badly about it mainly because he had no items and I suspect he may have been a noob. Either way I laughed for like 30 minutes straight. Anyway share your stories!

I completely agree with the clothing. Even if you can wear the clothing that zombies wear that would be neat too. It would be harder to spot the difference between a survivor and a zombie. Adding an extra layer to the gameplay. Also customizing your character even more is always a good thing. I'm not really for more guns. Due to the fact it's all military grade items. There needs to be more civilian accessible weaponry. But as you've pointed out they are not in Arma II.

I would have done the same thing. Mainly because you asked him if he was friendly or not. If I don't get a reply I usually back off or kill them if they pose a potential threat. Same situation happened to me in Elektro Firestation. I heard him in the tower and I went up and he was sitting on the top of the stairs waiting for me. I asked him if he was friendly three times. I backed off and went to loot the church. He came running in to get away from some Zombies and I just killed him. I didn't want to risk it.
