I've gotten an M14, M1611 pistol, ALICE pack, several blood bags and other medical supplies, all tools other than toolbox and NVG. Died in Elektro with the stuff recently though, going to miss that sweet M14.

They are located in residential zones such as apartments, houses, minimarts, etc. Made a sweep through cherno and managed to find two guillie and camo suits each. I highly recommend the guillie suit if you're traveling inland, just go prone in the brush and you're nearly invisible.

I really think you should accept donations Rocket. Just as long as you make it clear that it is a DONATION, and that they are not paying for a service or good but are giving you the money purely to help with the advancement of the mod and should expect nothing but a thank you.

Stop crying about running zombies, if zombies didn't run there would be no challenge.

Implement a currency item such as gold coins.
Senrain replied to Horr1d's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
What use would you have for cash in the apocalypse? I'd be more interested in guns, ammo, food, and water. Those little slips of paper could make good tinder for a fire I suppose. -
Player corpses disappearing when they disconnect/respawn

This is being fixed in the next patch. -
ZOMBIE AI - The Definitive Suggestion
Senrain replied to The Killing Joke's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I think crawlers should be able to latch onto your ankles and slow you down until you either shoot them or just break free. -
There should be an option on the scroll menu to gut the animal, after you gut it you can loot the meat off it as if it were a corpse. In order to eat the meat you need to get some wood and matches and make a campfire. Simply hit G, right click on the matches and select Make Campfire. You can then cook the meat on the fire.

A simple answer to the bandit issue once and for all.
Senrain replied to ErwinRumble's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Good to know some people know that this game is harsh and it's going to STAY harsh. If you die, it's your fault for not scoping out that town or being a little too eager to loot a corpse in the street. Your death is always your fault, except in the case of bugs but everyone gets eaten by a tree now and then. Rocket isn't going to make things easier, in fact you can expect him to make things harder for us in the near future. So the only person who can make the game less harsh is YOU. Stick to the tree line, scope out towns for a few minutes before you go looting, avoid other players, and join a team or clan if necessary. Despite your best efforts, you WILL die at the hands of a player at some point. The lifespan of the average survivor is about 30 minutes, so you're beating the odds for every day you stay alive. TL;DR Stop crying on the forums and look at what you're doing wrong. -
I'm sure Rocket has said at some point that he is working on fixing this bug.

We don't need factions, group up with friends and go hunting n' such.

Banned from Eu8 for russian language
Senrain replied to OldFox (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I don't mind if I visit a server and I see people speaking Russian. It's their native language and you shouldn't get pissed off when you see people speaking the language they were born into. Do I understand Russian? No. But I don't rag on people for speaking it. My home server is RU11 so pretty much everyone else is speaking a different language. I think it's pretty immersive as I feel I am a foreigner, surrounded by writing and speech I cannot comprehend, making interaction between me and the locals uneasy, but not impossible. -
A sanity meter is not a feature that DayZ needs.

Flies buzzing for no reason, corpses vanishing
Senrain replied to hatesauce's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Yeah, I was in Elektro and shot down another survivor on the hospital roof. He was pissed off, so I decided to stoke the fire of his rage a bit and say, "Nice AK." His corpse then disappeared, and he replied with. "No AK for you." No AK indeed. -
There is no female characters, and I doubt there will be.

I tend to avoid other survivors and populated areas most the time, I recommend you do the same.
-
Going prone and keeping a decent distance away from the zed seems to work fine, though they can still become curious and stumble over in your general direction to see if you're food or not. It should still be easy to avoid them though, as their attempts to investigate are half hearted at best.

I choose to shoot any who are a little too nosy for their own good. Was sitting atop factory roof at chern overlooking the military tents when two survivors come and start chucking flares in every direction. I crawl to the edge and they see me observing them, so they chuck flares up onto the roof and I establish that I am friendly and that if they keep their distance I won't shoot. So they go loot the tents and one of them gets the smart idea to try and climb up to me. I unloaded my AKM into his face as soon as his head popped up on the ladder. His friend comes out and pops a few shots at me with his winchester before he gets mobbed by zombies. I watched as the zombies score an instant knock out on the poor guy and then devour him. I climbed down later when the zombies wandered off and looted some food and ammunition off them. I felt a little guilty, though I did warn them.

share your bandit killing stories!
Senrain replied to bonerwinkle's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I was looting the NE airfield, I snuck into the control tower and went to check the loot under the stairs. As I'm looting I hear a sniper rifle fire upstairs and a death message subsequently appear. I decided it would be a good idea to hide under the stairs. After a moment a bandit walks down the stairs and peeks out the door, I take this opportunity to roll out from behind the stairs and unload on him with my AKM and roll back into cover just as two buddies that are with him run downstairs to see what the hell happened. They seem to think the gunshots came from outside the door and hug the walls beside it, I decide the situation is too risky and log out underneath the stairs. -
... I spotted a group of bandits sitting around a fire, warming up some beans and oblivious to my presense, I clutch my Winchester tightly as I...

I seem to be the only one who doesn't see bandits as something to be feared, but rather something to be taken advantage of. I mean, they are basically walking bags of loot without the hit to your humanity. I'm much more willing to go out of my way to shoot a bandit than a survivor. The only time I haven't shot one is when we saw each other both prone across a street and we had a mutual understanding that whoever fired off the first shot would have every Zed in the city chewing on his ass. So we went our separate ways.

THE Night is TOO DAMN DARK Thread. Others will be deleted etc.
Senrain replied to Slamz's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The darkness of night provides more protection than any weapon you could ever find in the game. If you want to be able to see and don't mind breaking the immersion a bit I recommend jacking up the gamma and brightness, and setting your HDR to very high. I spend much of my time on night servers, I feel far too vulnerable on daylight servers as if there is a silent sniper watching me, slowly squeezing back the trigger as the crosshairs fall on my head. -
I am Senrain, I tend to travel inland but I am no stranger to hitting up Chern or Elektro on occasion. I prefer to avoid zombies and other survivors if I can, patiently slithering from building to building, observing the surrounding areas and plotting my next route. I am somewhat friendly if one is willing to contact me on steam or teamspeak for a voice chat before we meet up in-game. Otherwise I treat all survivors I meet as possible enemies and shoot them if I am left with no other choice.
