Man playing on 1.7.1.2 is hard work
Senrain replied to Castle (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Not bad. -
But it's slow.... Not everyone knows how to properly fire a bow, because it actually takes some practice and finesse to shoot it straight, much less kill a person with it. Seeing everyone run around with bows and arrows would not only be ridiculous but also severely unrealistic. Crossbows require little training to use, so even someone unfamiliar with the weapon can quickly learn to make efficient use of it. It not only makes sense, but already fills the role the bow and arrow could fill. Yes it's slow, it's supposed to be slow. It's a crossbow.

How about no? The crossbow already fills the role perfectly.

Pretty convinced everyone is a bandit.

I tend not to fire on weaponless people straight off the shore unless they decide to follow me. -

I'm still incapable of connecting to any servers. I do hope the next patch will hopefully fix this issue, I'd love to continue playing your mod. -

I tried creating a new player profile, didn't work. I do know I'm bumping the living hell out of this topic until it's fixed. I love this game too much. -

Name: Senrain User ID: 4698304 Was hanging at NWAF, picked up a pile of hatchets that seemingly vanished when I picked them up then the server crashed. Cannot join any servers now because I get the error. I'd like to play again please. -
I've been playing with two primaries for a while and I've always quirked a brow at the fact a SVD and M240 take up the same amount of space in your backpack as an MP5 or AKS-74U. I also scratch my head when I see that a pistol takes up more space than five cans of beans, in an ALICE pack realistically I could shove up to twenty handguns inside a backpack that big. However I do understand the need for balancing, but I believe a pistol should take up a little less space. Primary weapon space --------- Small primaries such as the MP5, AKS-74U, and other SMG sized weapons should take up about 6 slots. These weapons are light and easily stuffed into a backpack. Medium primaries such as the AK variants, M4 variants, pretty much all the full sized assault rifles and few similarly sized sniper/battle rifles such as the M14 AIM/CZ 550/DMR should take up 8 slots, these weapons are bigger but would still be easily stored if broken down. LARGE primaries such as M240s, MK 48, SVD, etc. should take up the whopping default 10 slots. Even if you broke these guns down, they are still pretty inconvenient to lug around in your bag. Secondary weapon space -------- I would like to suggest that pistols take up four slots, and flashlights take merely two. The PDW should take up the default 5 slots simply because it's a somewhat large weapon. (I don't want to suggest that weapons take up more space than the default 10 and 5 slots, this is purely up to the devs if they decide to consider this suggestion.)

Adding penalties to anything will just result in more whining. So my answer is no.

Would think this suggestion would get more attention, then again people are busy crying about the latest patch.

What's The Lowest Blood You've Survived At?
Senrain replied to chibigoat's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I was crouch running through Cherno trying to scrounge up a guillie suit when an AK empties bullets into my back and knocks me out cold. An eager bandit, unaware I'm merely unconscious prances up to see if I have anything worth taking while I watch the hourglass and my blood slowly tick down. A bunch of zeds attack and he is distracted dealing with them when I finally wake up. I take careful aim at his head, and watch as he goes down like a sack of bricks after a bullet scrambles his brains. I quickly bandage myself and do a double take. 12 FUCKING BLOOD, I COULD STUB MY TOE AND DIE. Two hours later I ended up throwing myself off a roof by accident, I had so far managed to get my blood up to four thousand. -
I do agree that the community has it's idiots, but there won't be any getting rid of them. Sadly to say they are here to stay, stubbornly transmuting keyboard taps into a nice steaming pile of dung for everyone to admire.

Amazing game takes dive. Player worries.

The change to hardcore is coming like a giant wave, try to fight against it and you'll just be swept under and drowned. Accept the changes and go with the flow, then you'll find everything much easier. -
Don't remove NVGs, they are already hard as shit to obtain anyways.

Super Realistic (Since Difficult=Realistic here)
Senrain replied to ProphetMatt's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Stop posting these stupid joke suggestions, it's getting old. -
While walking through Cherno the other day with my bandit friends and generally mowing down zombies and the occasional survivor unfortunate enough to cross our path we shared some of our ideas for the game. We all agreed on one thing, the game was far too predictable and boring at times. The only unpredictable factor was other players and while sitting around a campfire in the rain, we all agreed that we'd like see more random stuff happen. I've seen many suggestions, and all of them are just unbelievably awesome. What if we just bundled them all up and gave each a random chance of happening anywhere on the map? Such as the remnants of the military, give them a small chance of rolling into a town and shaking things up a bit, a jet flying through and just bombing a town, a group of psychopaths with the old bandit skins defending certain high quality loot locations, or just random hordes wandering the countryside. I've been on some of those hacked servers with tanks and odd soldier NPCs shooting everyone, while zombies wreak havoc and feed as the city burns and I have to say it was one of the funnest experiences I've had in this mod. So wouldn't you guys agree this game needs some random events to spice things up?

Post necromancy! Would anyone else like a feature like this?
-
Just remember this suggestion is adding BENEFITS to working together and not adding penalties to the lone wolf style of play.
-
I like this suggestion, but I do not think it would be able to be implemented.

Best of luck in hunting bandits such as myself. I'll be sure to keep my rifle close and my beans even closer.
