One guy doing PVP and instant disconnect catched
Senrain replied to THeCRoW (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Wow, what a bitch move. -
It's generally easier to play when you can consider everyone a hostile, you don't need to worry about people backstabbing you because there is no backstabbing to be had if you just shoot everyone on sight. You also have easy access to supplies in the form of unwitting survivors. Yes, it's mean but you need to be mean in order to survive. Killing people gets easier the more you do it. You stop hesitating to pull the trigger. Cries for help become pleas for death. You gain the mentality of a hunter and relish in the thrill of the kill. Your whole perspective on the game changes.

Oh don't get me wrong I'm still a bandit through and through, I just felt some pity that the guy was KO'd in one hit and I pretty much ended up saving his ass again, I was considering just shooting him dead several times after I rescued him as he seemed pretty naive.

One town as the last stand of human race...

This isn't fallout, we don't need safe zones. -
I was hiding in the tree line at NWAF waiting for potential targets when I saw someone crouch walking between the hangars. I don't remember his name so I'll just refer to him as Bob. I was judging the distance and zeroing my rifle to straight up murder the guy when a zombie spots him and runs up to him. BLAM! One hit KO, just like that he's unconscious on the ground. I wince and watch it take some bites out of him. I feel a touch of mercy, aim my rifle... BANG! Down goes the zombie that was chowing on his innards. It's about twenty seconds before Bob comes to and bandages himself, he looks around a bit and finally pipes up in side chat asking who saved him. I remain silent and watch Bob go about his business inside the hangars, I hear sudden AK fire and Bob runs out and around the back of the hangar splurting blood. I see the aggressor run to the entrance of the hangar and begin slowly peeking around the side to close in for the kill. I aim and shoot, one bullet to the torso and he goes down unconscious, another bullet and it's good night. It's about a couple minutes before Bob peeks into the Hangar and sees his attacker's corpse, all the loot still on it. He helps himself to the guy's loot (You're welcome!) and pipes up in side chat again asking who his guardian angel sniper is. I remain silent still and watch Bob exit the airfield. I had the most warmest fuzziest feeling of pride that day. It's possible for even the coldest and hardest of bandits to feel some compassion for his fellow man, as long as there's no risk of losing my gear of course.

The luckiest days of your lives:
Senrain replied to TheSexyGoat's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I was making the long trek up to Berezino from Elektro when I spotted someone running obliviously down the road. They had a guillie suit and a very large looking rifle in their hands, so I decided to sneak after them, keeping my distance and trying to line up a kill shot with my winchester when the opportunity arose. Thing is this person seemed to never hold still! He would dart in and out of the supermarkets and apartments so fast I wondered if he even looted anything! I finally got my opportunity when they had the fortune to find a DMR spawned in one of the military tents. The few seconds he spent trying to make space so he could shove the gun in his backpack was all I needed. One shot and they were out for the count, checked the corpse and my jaw dropped. NVGs, Rangefinder, M107, M9 SD, Coyote Backpack, this guy was LOADED. I got to enjoy it for an entire two hours before I got shot by someone spawning on top of me in a barn of all places. -
They were working earlier, imageshack seems to be giving me the finger here. Just delete this thread please mods, don't feel like going back and looking for those fucking gifs again.

It says PENDING update, not rolling.

I think this is a terrible idea.

-Walk outside building. -Zombie runs up and hits me. -Start bleeding. "Pssh. No problem." -Second zombie runs up and breaks my legs. "Oh, well that was unlucky." -Third zombie runs up and knocks me unconscious. "Oh shit!"

I miss the days when the only way you could get your sight and hearing meters to shoot up to 5 bars was to run in the middle of a road or across a farm plot like a moron. Doesn't make much sense that zombies can see me in the dark from 50m while I can't see them until I'm bumping into their legs. I used to be terrible at sneaking past zombies as I always ended up as the evening meal. Though through time and many bites I learned crawling was the ideal way to hide from the undead. After long hours of crawling I got fed up and learned to crouch walk past zombies effectively, only needing to prone in a few tight spots. Up to a few days before the new zombie awareness was put in I was able to stand up and WALK past zombies as long as I kept behind them and kept my eye on which direction every zombie was facing, I seriously felt like the zombie sneaking champion. Now standing up and even crouching are good ways to get yourself killed, and shift crawling is pretty ineffective as zombies walk faster than you can crawl, so if one that had it's back turned to you one second ago is now headed your direction, well tough luck pal. I also find I am forced to crouch if I want to enter most buildings, so I tend to have to expend a couple bullets on the zombies who show up for a bite from around the other side of the building. (X-Ray vision anyone?) While I can still avoid zombies adequately as long as I don't enter any towns, I really would like to be able to sneak around in towns again.

Dropped dead, no change in blood
Senrain replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
If you are shot in the head you don't hear the bullet. -
How about no? This is the apocalypse, no one will reward you for being a good guy.
-
Yes, though leo235 we don't need a magnifying glass.
-
What ? lol There is only canned food and freshly hunted meat to eat in-game. AKA this suggestion is pointless.
-
Yeah, I was in stary sobor crawling around and picking up food for blood regeneration when my character suddenly got up as I tried to get through a doorway. Needless to say seven zombies immediately pounced on me and knocked me out on the first hit.
-
This has already been suggested and I already said no to it.

Surprisingly I'm pretty fearless for a bandit. I run towards gunshots, shoot without hesitation, and walk amongst the undead in the dead of night. I do feel my heart picking up some pace when I hear the small 'pop!' of bullets landing next to me though. The one thing I do fear is someone in my crew betraying the rest of us in cold blood.

When you're walking through the house in darkness and when you hear the footsteps of your roommate your heart goes into overdrive because of your DayZ instincts. -
