Dont understand why i lag so hard in cities.
oWARLOCKo replied to FrenZY9527's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Most likely the problem is not your GPU, it could be your CPU. when you go to the bigger cities the zombies are probably being tied to your computer. I dont know if you are aware of this but the server does not handle the zombies when they spawn because having so many zombies to run would cause too much of a burden on alot of servers so to prevent this, after spawning zombies the server actually tethers them to a clients machine. So the problem could be that in the cities your CPU could just be getting bogged down from having to handle too much zombie AI. -
[HELP/FIX] Stuck on "...loading"-screen
oWARLOCKo replied to Inattentive's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Not saying this is the issue for everyone but I find that when I am unable to join a server or stuck at loading most of the time it is because I am trying to join a server that is running a different version of Dayz or ARMA2. Also something to take note of is the fact that not all the servers are actually running the version that they have listed in the description, I have come across quite a few like this. The descriptions say they are running 1.7.2.5 but they actually are not. -
You have good gear, are you a bandit???
oWARLOCKo replied to Dylon's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I have what I guess is good gear, M9SD, M4A3SD, Cammo clothing, Ghillie, GPS, NVG, etc. and yeah, I do play a little more cautiously when dealing with others. In the end I think it works out though, with my Suppressed stuff its WAY easier for me to help my friends get geared and in the end we end up as a much stronger "unit" for it. -

The easiest way would be to just download Steam. Its free, has lots of useful features and only takes like 5minutes to make an account. And it will notify you when your friends are online and if they are playing any games. -

it seems like everyone has adopted the new policy "shoot first and ask a question later"
oWARLOCKo replied to neotinx's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Exactly. Its only going to get worse as long as there is no way to tell the "good guys" from the "bad guys" and there is nothing to discourage people from just killing to get gear or, well, just killing to be dicks. -
Just some guy trying to find a clan or group of people
oWARLOCKo replied to professiondude's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Ill add you on steam, I play ARMA2 and I have been playing Dayz for a while so I can help you with some stuff if you need help. Also if anyone else wants to add me on Steam they can but I make no promises about being on all the time, however if we both happen to be playing at the same time Im down for grouping. Making a Squad to begin the work on a dream of survival
oWARLOCKo replied to Othra's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
So whats you idea exactly? Are you just trying to get geared up and put together a squad/group for pvp? -
So, I have been playing Dayz for a while, I have survived for a while and Im looking for some people to jump into games with if we both happen to be on at the same time. Heres just a little info about how I operate: I dont care for pvp. Ill just put that out right off the bat, I defend myself and my gear but I avoid pvp, in my opinion this is an RPG, not a first person shooter. If I wanted to kill other players I would go play COD or ARMA2 not Dayz. A little bandirty is one thing, pvp'ing is something else entirely. Experience, I know how to play. I know the mechanics Im not new to ARMA2 I play it pretty regularly. I know the map and can navigate with and without compass, map, and gps. I know how to get gear, I know where the different kinds of gear spawn, and Im careful when getting equipment. I do have a mic but I dont really use it too often, not unwilling to jump on though. And lastly, Im a mature gamer. Im not a kid, I play for fun and to try and survive as long as possible. I can get upset or mad at things in game sometimes but thats not really too often and its usually only if someone is just trying to grief. In general I try to take it easy and just play. If your interested in grouping sometime just hit me up on Steam: o WAR1OCK o

The Coalition - Changing the Culture of DayZ
oWARLOCKo replied to Dr Wasteland MD's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
This sounds good, but Im interested to see how it pans out. Bandits weapon of choice and mode of operation, Ghillie suits, scoped rifles, and ridgelines. A squad of bandits who have decent aim, ( something thats not really a factor with the simple to use sniper rifles in this mod ) can possibly take out a full patrol from up to 1600meters away, whithout the targets ever hearing a shot, and do it purely to grief and not even go loot bodies. Thats alot of area that a squad like that can overwatch. Then you have to account for the hackers, griefers, and pvp'ers in general. I commend what your trying to do, time will tell if it works though. -
Bandit/Survivor Morphing to be removed
oWARLOCKo replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
Clearly you either didnt read my post, or you didnt understand what I said. I didnt spawn in, or go to, Cherno or Elektro. I said that I spawned close to Elektro but further down the coast and in the open, not around any buildings or towns. And even in a situation like that, where it is an area in the middle of nowhere, where there is no gear or loot spawns to "fight over" I still encountered a Ghillie sniper with an AS50 lying prone overlooking the coast from a ridgeline who was clearly just there to kill fresh spawns. As to your attempt at trolling, I do better than alot of others at survival for your information, I have a surplus of food, drink, medical supplies, and enough ammo to survive for quite a while at this point. I have been alive on the same character for a long time and have what are arguably some of the "best gear in the game" at this point. I know how to navigate the map with and without my map, compass, and gps. And I know where to get loot and how to conserve gear. And for the last part of your statement, if YOU think for one second that if this were to happen in real life that so many people would go around killing others purely for amusement you have issues. Humans are social creatures, they crave attention and companionship, the only kind of people who run around indiscriminately killing/attempting to kill other people are sociopaths and individuals who are mentally ill. Anyone with common sense will realize that its better to have someone else around to help watch your back, hunt up gear and food, take shifts sleeping/patrolling etc. And just as the others have said, no one is going to piss away something as rare and valuable as .50 cal ammo just for the hell of it because they feel like shooting some random people. If you believe what you said then clearly YOU are not ready for something like this and YOU suck at survival. -
You really dont need a map. Once you learn how to spot the main landmarks and cities you can navigate without one. I have one, but I really dont even use it, a compass is a more useful too honestly.

Sniping in DayZ. The built in hack & how it should change for the better/harder
oWARLOCKo replied to Cheboygan's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Honestly my views on this are, if your only playing so that you can sit up in a ridge line somewhere and rack up a kill count on other players you should not be playing a "Zombie Apocalypse RPG" in the first place, you should be playing ARMA2 vanilla as a sniper. But you do have good points and some good ideas that could actually help the gameplay alot. Sniping in Dayz is definitely too easy and in a game that focuses on "realism" it should certainly have a higher learning curve. Real world snipers train daily, for years to learn the skills that they need to operate and that should translate into Dayz in some way. And Im sure that if it were made a little harder then it would help cut down on the number of obnoxious players who like to think that they are so Elite when they make a kill with an AS50.
