I saw numerous threads about seeing a heli, and our group as well have spotted and claimed a heli. The servers are relatively new.. Can anyone confirm that we are having heli's now?? :)

Game doesn't work after new Nvidia graphics driver.

I just updated my nvidia graphics driver to 304.79 But the game doesn't work now. I see that checkbox thingy when you start the game but after it goes away, the process itself just terminated itself. Am i the only one having this issue? The arma 2 itself is not working, i don't think it matters with the mod. -

I rollbacked the driver, works like a charm :D Guys, don't install the nvidia beta drivers, it seems they have some problems time to time. -
This probably had been already suggested butci'll just throw it in(Please make titles easy to search :)) This idea is simple. When you break your leg, make other person able to drag/carry you like the option in 'unconcious' state. But add the option for the guy with broken leg, to break loose the drag/carry. There could be trolls dragging a player and dumping at the sea. -Pros More coop. No need to crawl around everywhere More use of the fun feature -Cons Glitches are highly probable

Will we be able to manually remove the tent on our own? Even if we blow them up, drive over it, pack tent and do all sorts of stuff(likewise for wires,etc) They would just come back after server restart. Hope this is fixed soon :)

I'd like to see a 'sad background music for low humanity' added in Dayz How about we change the background music of people who have low humanity, to a sad/gloomy one? This doesn't give disadvantage or anything but it puts the bandit into a sad environment. This won't necessarily reduce the murder rate or do anything really. But people with low humanity will feel that they have pushed the humanity further to an end. It's kind of a mechanic to make players feel more guilty. I know this won't make a big change, but for immersion and emotion sake, what do you think of this? It won't be that hard job or anything. Just a few more codes and a good music choice.

Current music is kinda annoying..(sorry devs) it sounds like an industrial hammering going on. That could be one of the factors why a lot of people turn off their music. But please do not underestimate how music changes the whole mood of the game. It really really is a big factor. If the music is good enough, i'm hoping people would turn it on and blend it in.

It's a private server. It doesn't affect anything in the original dayz database. but don't play there, There seems to be a bug where half the players are invisible. It's chaos there

Here's how it works, We put many many vehicles with the same repairing system. Jerry cans you find will be all empty You cannot fill jerrycans through fuel tank. You need portable generator to pump fuel from the fuel station, which would make a lot of noise, thus zombie horde pours in(Like L4D) Defend yourself and escape when the fuel proccess is complete. -Pros- No more hoarders. More people have access to vehicles Exciting trigger event More realistic New resource that becomes much more valuable(group fights and raids become more often) -Cons- Could make performance sfraint to the servers. There could be too much working vehicles which could break the immersion

Server: US 43 Location: Cap Golova The barricade goes all the way to the beach with only 1 entrance at the main road. There used to be a military group controlling this area, making It a safe haven for survivors. Lots have gathered and it was a lot of fun(the survivors in the pic are strangers). The militaries eventually left but it is still a landmark for this server :) Any group willing to have fun should take control of it.

My first experience was something similar. got inside the wood and started touching my options, then i suddenly saw something passing by. He hid behind a wood and was watching me. he was wearing a bandit skin but i didnt knew what it was when i first saw it. I stand up being friendly and all saying "Hello there!" Then he suddenly was shooting me. I freaked out and laid down and shot my makarov like crazy. Next thing i saw was his cold blooded body. This hapened before i even saw a zombie lol Not bad for my first gameplay :D Dont use the web map. Exploring and finding new stuff was one of the most memmorable experience. If u want REAL fun, EXPLORE! -
hacking things with an axe is a very tiring job. Make it so that everytime you hack with a melee weapon, you get thirstier. maybe 0.5% of the whole water bar. When you use the 'collect firewood', you get thirstier about 20%. What do you think of this? Currently collecting like 99 firewood and storing it in a tent is too easy, furthermore when log cabin system,rocket stated about, gets implemented it should be hard to collect these materials. What are your opinion on this? :)

I don't know if this is possible but i'm throwing this in. Fixed username for each character. Everytime you respawn, you're face and username is fixed and can't be changeable through player profile option. Pros 1.law enforcement system possible 2.bounty hunt possible 3.Each character becomesmore unique. Cons 1.You have to think of a way of keeping you're gear when you want to change yourname for clans 2. Performance straint for hive(i dont think it'll affect clients)

Our group have built that barricade and we took control of it for couple of hours. Here's the facts. -Must be a group to control that area(With decent gear m16,ak's) -A Single server hopper is hard to make a huge assault If you see the pic we had 3 outposts covering every area possible. The worst case would be a guy throwing a grenade, but still we wouldn't lose the whole group. -It was controllable Everybody was cooperative about lowering weapons or putting sidearms in their backpack We didn't encounter any firefights although we had to shoot someone for freaking us out. -It is fun We had tons of fun :) -24 hour watch is impossible It is definitely hard. -24 hour watch is necessary After we built that barricade, we only controlled it for couple of hours, had tons of fun, and came back a day after. What we saw there was a massacre. Player bodies everywhere, bombardment on the medical tent, sabotaging of the barricade. There are definitely people who just wants to watch the world burn. -Survivors gathered. Many survivors came by and they tend to stay at that fortification instead of passing by. Maybe we could build something out of this? like a trade post? -Survivors didn't team up as we expected. I thought the survivors would gather and sort of make groups on their own.That is definitely what i wanted to see, but i haven't see that the first day. Further testing is needed to see if this happens or not. We've only controlled there for couple of hours, so i can't confirm this. -Quite a bit of traffic. We'd expected more, but still there was decent traffic in Cap golova. I would say 1 person every 10~15min was passing by. Most of them wasn't heavily armed. The best weapon we saw was a lee enfield(not including our allied group of military gaming:)) -it's not easy to build. Setting up doesn't take long, the materials for it is the problem. I want to apologize for this. We did used exploits and bugs. I am truly sorry about this. In my personal opinion, it would literally take a month to gather all those materials. We used like 100~150 tanktraps. But please, do not post insults in this thread. I want this thread purely about player-built base. You can make a new thread entitled "Fuck you Bahhh" and give me all sorts of insults. I will not make a single complaint about that.I have no excuse to make even if i get banned. I'll accept it. Ok, i could be missing something so if anybody have any question, please post it. Now, i thought of how to improve this whole fortification/safe zone to work. We need several groups controlling the area. A single group is impossible to control all day. We need alliance of several groups for all this safe haven to work. Make a time schedule and set certain times for when the groups control. Example: Group A-1:00~3:00 Group B-3:00~5:00 Even for the material collecting, it is extremely hard for a single group to pull off that scale without using normal means. We could make this really big. An alliance of groups. We have players from worldwide, so the timezone would even work. PS: The hard work building that barricade goes to my group. Thank you all :) EDIT: This barricade was first built as an experiment. A rectengular base should be built rather than a barricade.
