Yes you can. You can even save other people's as well.

It won't show up in other people's map unless you're like a few meters close. Although if you shoot a gun, you will show up on other people's map as an orange marker titled 'UNKNOWN'(with a range of course. 500m?) Also vehicles will show up on your map even if they are like 500m away.

A lot of groups actually tried this. But you have to know that there's nothing more boring than guarding for 24 hrs. It feels like i'm not even playing a game. People traffic will be almost none for that area as well. I'm thinking of 1 person per 3hours? Try Cap golova. At least it won't be boring

Find a specific server. Use the 'filter' in the DayZ map browser and type a portion of the server's name. I didn't really had problems with this..

I don't think rocket have any authority over your private servers. But i'm not sure though

Our group noticed this since 1.7.2.3 The water guage are definitely draining much faster! And i actually like this more. Didn't you guys noticed it? Also he blocked a part of a you-know-what exploit ;)
