If you are asking if you can change your name ingame to a different one besides steam username, you can't (yet?). As for the character, this may be a bug as i have not seen a similar complaint. Report it at feedback.dayzgame.com Also, welcome to the forums! :)

Although i don't blame you for not seeing it, use the search button as there was a similar thread a day or two ago which explained a lot about the hacker problem and how is it planned to deal with them

You know, i met a dude here yesterday who asked the same question, ended up spending the night playing with him untill like 3am. We will be here today most of yhe day too. Feel free to pm me, and i'll add you on steam. We are on EU standard time. I'm 21 in a month btw if age matters. The only problem is i won't have a working mic for another week or so

Good read, i hope you are enjoying the game so far. It's that kind of encounters and you heart beating that makes the game so amazing. Good on you for not shooting them on sight btw. Also, don't be paranoid, its not a good trait to have in this game. Avoid the roads yes, but follow them in the treeline if you get lost. And don't get attached to you gear to the point you are afraid of player encounters

It is if you are looking at it from a roleplay perspective. I think it would be fun getting kidnaped or something, it's part of the experience right now, but for the most part he is right. There is no real reason to stay alive now other than to keep the gear you have

1. you will find it as loot in residential buildings 2. yeah, head up north. loot is bugged right now so it only spawns on server restart (every 4 hours), so most of the coastline is already looted 3. not yet, but i'm looking forward to that :) No problem man, ask away if you need any more help, or send me a pm i'll try to help in any way i can

It's not that particular ladder, all ladders are bugged in a way that they might kill you

I totally agree, but we have no alternative to youtube and twitch now, and steaming anywhere else is a risk because content won't be seen by that many people

I think it's going to be just fine :) Rocket and the crew developed the mod in their own expense for a long time, and they didn't even accept donations. I'm serious, so many people wanted to donate to support it, and i vividly remember seing a thread about it on this forum that Rocket commented he won't accept any kind of a donation. They have Bohemia support for the standalone as far as i know so it's going to be fine

First of all, welcome! :) Secondly, streaming actually helps DayZ. More people find out about the game, or they heard about it previously and wanted to check it out, and making quality videos/streams helps them decide to purchase the game and support thedevelopers in that way. Go crazy! A little bit offtopic (still on the same page though), anyone maybe remembers that old video series when the mod first came out? For the veterans, it was the only result you would get by typing 'dayz' in youtube. Don't know how to elaborate it more, it was the series that got me hyped into playing and i would love to watch it again but can't find it. Actually, this is on topic. See how a mere video can get someone so hyped to play this game, pulls his friends into it and becomes a longtime fan and supporter? :D

The think most people don't understand is how a simple feature could be very expensive to develop. I remember in Path of Exile, there were 1000$ donation pack, and if you donated that much you would get to make and name a unique item in the game. The thing is, that 1k$ didn't cover the expenses for making that item most of the time. DayZ did get a cash injection, but i don't think it would be enough to develop the whole game

Oh, ok then :) I was asking because there have been reports od spawning in Novy ever since the mod, and it always puzzled me if it's a bug or not. And if it is, and people were supposed to spawn only on the coast, what happened in the code that made some people get that particular Novy Sobor spawn. Then when you said Stary, i was puzzled even more

Stary sobor? Are you sure it wasn't Novy?
