Are you making a joke or is soda really required to trigger the "healthy" status? I really can't tell, Arma/DayZ are weird like that -
It would be pretty cool, but im affraid that it isn't happening any time soon. Those things require work, which is better invested in pushing the game towards beta.

Its weird. I usually got both energized and hydrated at the same time, but a few days ago was the first time i got "healing" as well. I read somewhere that you have to sit down and rest once in a while to trigger it, but i can't confirm that this is correct. Though me and my buddy were frequently sitting down by the fire whenever we got cold, and sat down until both of us smoked a cigarette. Just chilling by the fire, you know. That may triggered it -

The subreddit is not what it used to be in the early mod days. Not in the least. It is full of kids (and i am not using this as an insult, i am 100% certain that the majority of people there are under the age 16) who downvote every legitimate discussion(preventing it from being seen), and upvote comments bashing the game. There is a DayZ Underground private sub where the mature discussion goes on, but im not sure that the devs are familliar with it.

Is DayZ really set in fictional Ukraine?

While Chernarus is geographically placed in Czech Reublic, it can fictionally be set in either Russia or Ukraine. I think the signs are written in Cyrilic just to match with the eastern european theme -
I mostly know by memory by now, but sometimes i check the road sign to confirm my location (i dont know the northern villages well enough), then use a compass to head roughly in direction i want to go. Also, DayZDB map

Doubt it. I think they were expecting that kind of reaction. People were pissed off back in the mod that was free, blaming Rocket that they bought Arma 2 just for dayz and that they want their money back (yeah, get that logic). DayZ was bound to recieve criticism even if released as a perfect game. Thousands of different people, thousands of different expectations. Nothing you can do to please them all

I really don't think so, as i can see someone from hundreds of meters away, but the direct voice noticably decreases in volume the further i am from someone

Yeah, i know that feeling. I usually avoid player interactions if i don't have a mic because there is honestly no point. I only use the text chat when im held up, but i make it clear from the beginning that i don't have a mic. -
Found my first tent last night after hours of searching for it. I never saw a chicken, press vest, or any of the AK variants
