Confused on what i need to play Dayz
barrett_killz replied to Zembla's topic in New Player Discussion
Why don't you just google some step-by-step guide? -
So i bought Arma 2 CO out of the blue. Did i waste my money?
barrett_killz replied to hebekie's topic in New Player Discussion
This is probably the most worth game for that money IMHO. So many posibilities (not talking about the DayZ mod). -
I don't think it will come with the initial release, along with vehicles.

Naaah, Lenovo's good with cooling. ~75 degrees is high but still alright.

I'm getting the lowest FPS possible in the woods, even the cities give me more of them. I've added FXAA and post-processing and boosted my FPS from 15-20 to 30-40 now on my laptop (1024x768 resolution obviously).

The AS50 and L85 are being re-textured as well (including aiming down sights).
-
Gonna save the link to this topic, this looks interesting definetly.

That was a pretty long downtime. Also a standalone progress blog-post would be appreciated.

It's the same as Minecraft and ArmA 3, dunno if other games use this model.

The mod isn't bad at all at the moment IMHO. -

This. The alpha has to be buggy and glitchy lol. -

Why doesn't he clear this out that the release isn't even close to "soon"? It's simple. I know that it's just business and people's interest which => money but things have to be sorted. -
10 fps, every single tweak/boost out there even with ramdisk and a new graphics card.

His CPU is alright. Most likely it's a software problem or something's not good with your CPU. -
Streamers showing the closed Alpha?
barrett_killz replied to DazTroyer's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Did they yet? -
No. Tired of DayZ youtubers, there's so many of them.
-
Campaign & ArmA engine just don't fit together.
-
I think any kind of gameplay would be appreciated lol.

In standalone will I need to open a pharmacy?
barrett_killz replied to meat pie's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Just a quick reminder, the medic base is still in Tulga. -
This rig (FX-6100, GTX 580 and maybe some 8GB of RAM) might give you some very nice performance on medium to high(?) settings and 1080p resolution (AMD CPUs have their minuses in some architecture and all this kind of stuff). Also, I found the top AMD CPU (FX-8350) on a really low price on Amazon, you might want to look at this maybe? http://www.amazon.co...=dp_ob_title_ce

Meh, I've planned to build a desktop a while ago, and one of my friends recommended me a Phenom II X4 955, he owns one and has a great experience in gaming. But we all know that the processors are getting better and better every year and you're not looking to upgrade your rig again and again, right? The best way to go for a nice processor with a low budget is to pick the Bulldozer FX-6100 (which I decided to buy). It's a six core CPU and there are several benchmarks on this CPU, it's easy to overclock and can be cooled well even with a good CPU air cooler. Obviously if you want the best of the best experience for now you have to buy the new Haswell CPU (i7-4770K or an extreme edition i7-3970X or something) but I don't find it worth that money (tho it's not that much like a GTX Titan). By the way, that GTX 580 of yours is gonna run the newest games well for a while. EDIT: Take a look at some AMD Phenom II X6 1100T or do some research on APUs (though you don't really like integrated graphics).
