Your CPU is locked and theoretically you can't do anything about it. My advice is add post-processing to low and you most likely won't feel the lag at 20 FPS, like I do. -
Duh, the standalone release has nothing to do with university/school/etc. I'm not ranting about the release and you know that very well. Regarding the standalone, I'm going to buy it anyways, is it going to be released on summer, winter or so. From what I've said it's clear that MOST of us are going to be disappointed when another huge delay comes in, no need to neglect that, let's be realists. I find it pointless to argue with a moderator because I'm obviously no one on these forums, I'm just here to work on my English skills (been learning it alone as it's not my maternal language at all but w/e).

I had to turn it on along with FXAA at medium to increase my FPS and it worked. Am I the only one who LOVES the motion blur in shooters? It just looks so cool and EVEN at 15-20 FPS you don't feel the lag. EDIT: The bad thing with PP is that when you're running out of blood (around 3000-2000) your screen fades too often and you don't see anything. But it can be turned off really fast as well.

This map is pretty boring for DayZ, same buildings everywhere and it's very hard to find where you are without a map & compass. It's good for ArmA 2 missions though, been playing it a few times.

You'll get playable FPS at high settings on CPU turbo mode with this laptop.

I've been messing with my settings for around 2 months until I got some results, it's all about understanding the ArmA engine architecture. Now I'm playing with high-rex textures, FXAA, post-processing and playable FPS. I could remove the game straight away but it was worth a try.

How do I run it with 20-40 FPS on i5-2450M @ 2.5 GHz and HD 6370M (64-bit!!!)? Your game settings, drivers, game configs - these are the mess.

Anyways the standalone still won't bring the same feelings as when I started to play (when people actually were afraid of zombies, death and all this stuff), but I'm still going to play it. The interest to the game comes when you start playing it, trust me. -
Go for DayZ Origins, those official hives are always full of people, though it's hard to find a good high-pop server on Chernarus, tried myself.

Add FXAA and you'll gain some FPS as well, tested this on two Radeon GPUs.

Naaah, Lenovo's good with cooling. ~75 degrees is high but still alright.

I'm getting the lowest FPS possible in the woods, even the cities give me more of them. I've added FXAA and post-processing and boosted my FPS from 15-20 to 30-40 now on my laptop (1024x768 resolution obviously).
