I think it's not supported by the DayZ mod, because you should launch ArmA II and ArmA II: Operation Arrowhead, nothing else.

Did you download the ArmA II OA patch 1.62? You should download and install it first, then the beta-patch like the burrito said above.

Play the servers where admins put in a lot of work (whitelist, website, forums, good host). The server you play is really important.

Wait untill they're out of alpha. I personally can't wait to go to Cherno/Elektro and see some building interiors myself. -
Your Steam games library, right click on the ArmA II Combined Operations, or Operation Arrowhead, whatever you got... Check your properties upon launching the DayZ mod. I'm not using the Steam version though, wait for someone who is experienced with it.

Around 3 kills to get the bandit scarf from the beginning of playing DayZ. (You start with 2500 humanity I guess).

Change the CPU to a Quad core if you're a fan of Intel, and upgrade your GPU.

The thing is... I tried to be good these 5 months of playing DayZ, I have over 100 days of surviving on the official hive. And I was playing alone since then, never had a partner. Now I spend my time shooting people. Why? Because it's an effective way of killing time... -

Yeah, I wanted to post the same thing. I'm using the single player and some ArmA II ACE servers still support it. It would be a REALLY good addition to the mod.

Massive FPS drop every 10 - 15 secounds

Try another server? It happens to me too when the server is overloaded (or not restarted recently). Check your internet connection? (because most of FPS drops happen due to the connection). Try another Windows 7 version? (fixes the FPS drops for some players). -
Maybe add the deaths number to a statistic?
