Looking for someone to host my server

contra-example~ imagine you are a car-seller .. Give me a car for free and I'll put some adds somewhere on the car ;) sounds fair?^^ -
Where does GB #31 / UK #31 go? :(
crckdns replied to USER1302289's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I'd make my - in Germany hosted - linux based server public~ but I', a bit afraid of hackers~ even I've got nice admins with experience and also building up right now counter measures .. they will come someday as soon as its high populated XD -
I'm just wondering~~~ how you got an ID and whitelisted IP ..as you are using your home computer it seems according to your description :D and explain, where from you get the email saying this? I never received such a message, even by using not whitelisted IP (on same machine are 4 IPs registered)

running following configuration on my linux based dayz server, no crashes yet ..empty and with players~ Versions: Server v1.7.4.4 (25-Nov-2012 20:54:30 GMT+01) ArmA2OA build 98443 Client 25-Nov-2012 21:50:03 GMT+01 restarts every 6 hours just due to stability/performance reasons

it should be removed automatically after few (6+) days usually~ at least it was on our server like this^^
-
yes it IS thunderdome ~ seems a hacker spawned it but then was lazy or just couldn't teleport other players in^^

DE 1297 | Teleport Hacker | Monbanana [vengeance]
crckdns replied to Lynch**'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
we had already a lot of teleport hackers around~ I know that because our squad members are running around seperated on whole server in search for vehicles and the hackers teleport from left corner of the map to the right corner and then to electro and nw field in about 5 seconds~ Todays hacker name was IchbindeinToT ~ killed our 4 squad members and more than half server before the admin banned him. And the point you are asking about disabled server control~ there are ways to execute clientside functions which don't need anything from server in the matter of server control~ they don't even need remote execution and stuff like this~ nothing will show up in your server logs, they can teleport around, spawn items/vehicles and even buildings (permanent buildings which stay after server restart) Only thing can be done is by the ArmA2 developers by changing the client/server .. I mean, fixing those holes. -
The importance of IP Address Inclusion in Reports by George Castanza

Mostly every German user has a dynamic IP (except the cable-users) ^^ Weird assumptions by Vortech here~~ funny :) -
1 week old public hive server no chopper (VILAYER)
crckdns replied to waffen-79's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Same here, no heli since the update from 1.7.2.5 (when the server never saved the vehicles and made a rollback on every restart) to 1.7.2.6. Even a "friendly" hacker told, there is no heli on our server. So no heli in logs, no heli ingame, means there is no heli.. for 2 weeks (or more?). It's an issue the devs should take a look at (but they wont as it seems, they don't care as a lot of similar threads are open on the forum, but no reply from official side). Sad to know that the same support will be at standalone version. One reason not to buy it. -
Actually~~~ you even don't have to use scripts to use the spawn-engine of the client itself.. you can spawn everything you want w/o it showing up in the logs. And you even don't have to "bypass" battleye~ need just "some" coding knowledge :( Just saying..

Apart from the logfile itself~ The seagull mode was meant to be a spectator mode for ArmA and also was a part of game-protection technology built in the game ~ if the ArmA game was "cracked" back then, when the game has a copy-protection, you could play it, but then in the middle of the mission you would die and your view would change to the seagull. This copy-protection was removed later, as it was triggering time to time even legit copies of the game :) There is NO legit way to turn the seagull mode on in DayZ as spectator is disabled and prohibited by the DayZ devs.

Am I right assuming that your servers are all private-hive only? Because there is nowhere in topic stated that it's private. I can't recall official hive rules allowing spectator mode~ Especially because mostly every admin would abuse this mode to find players for his teammates :)

My congratulations :) you did recognize remote code execution logs as code~ captain Obvious huh?
