don't see it happening because all the bullets lose the original shape with the impact, plus could get inside the area of "crafting sniper rifles out of tin cans" thing rocket didn't like It would be interesting to see something like this tho

If DayZ does come out on console, the map would be the size of cherno or the graphics would be crap, and if it comes out for 720/ps4, maybe they could make the chenarus map in the console version, but certainly not the chenarus plus map

there was a screenshot or a concept art released by one of the devs a couple months ago, I'll see if I can find the link, but it showed that you could only carry a couple of mags outside your backpack

it's a good idea for now, but with the new inventory system in the standalone, you can only carry stuff in your backpack, outside the backpack, you only have room for primary, secondary and pockets (primarily used for mags) and since the new inventory system is based off of the item's size, yuo would only be able to carry 1 can of beans if you want to have a bandage and 1 mag for a pistol, don't get me wrong I would love to see DayZ like this, where you'd have to choose between carrying 1 can of beans and a mag or 1 can of beans and a bandage, but it's also unrealistic, who doesn't have a backpack? I have like 3, and that's only me, my dad has some and my sister also has a couple so in my house there's around 10 backpacks

1. HUGE hordes of zombies roaming the woods, like 2 random hordes of 200+ zombies spawn on every server restart. 2. Less/rarer military grade gear, and have authenticity on the gear, I don't think it should be easier to find an m16 than an ak on freaking russia. 3. More realistic spots for loot, not like you're going to walk in a warehouse and find an axe and a tire in the floor, maybe have like closets or desks with things on/in them and have like a pile of tires in the back, maybe like you open a closet and you find a suitcase with things inside, and also be able to keep your loot that way, sorta like you put like a pile of tires in your front porch (When base building is introduced) and then you save the loot you dropped in the desk or in whatever place you did, and it won't despawn.

who said anything about the standalone using take on helicopters engine? DayZ is using a customized version of RV2.... But I don't know how could you change the controls for different helicopters.... in the huey you yaw with the mouse and on another you yaw with the wasd keys? that doesn't make sence, I mean they should fly differently and stuff but not have different controls

Yes, but then again, being offline is the same as raiding cherno for food or exploring or going to the nwaf for ammo and shit, when you're doing that stuff your camp is also unprotected and you can't do anything about what happens to it. Even if you could be online 24/7 365 days/year, I doubt you would spend all your day protecting your camp would you? Plus you would play on servers close to you to have good pings so other people in the server probably get offline around the same times you do.

you're right, but what's the point of having a camp if you don't have a group? If you have a group there can be people of your group online more time. You can carry all the crap you need on your backpack, ofc you can have some extra stuff, but why? To get armed quickly after you die? being offline is the same as raiding cherno, you don't know who's in your camp, or if there's someone in your camp, it's just like irl, if you go to find food, your camp is unprotected, which is why it is kinda useless to have a camp i you don't have a group so there's always someone watching the camp. Also, what if you had your camp in a popular spot, and say you go offline for a week and someone else got a camp where you had yours, what would happen?

my mission in the standalone will be getting a tent full of satchel charges and blowing up every sniper in cherno/elektro

with that processor (idk shit about it, but with this mod and level of optimization 3ghz is not enough, you should try to get a 3.5-3.8 ghz one) it might be laggy as fuck but it will run it... maybe for the standalone as it will be more optimized than the mod

A ghillie suit isn't a thermal armor, it does heat up with your body temperature and the sun, also you would still be able to see the hands and the face of the ghillied guy :) and no, no thermal weapons in the SA, do you know how hard it would be to find a thermal sight on an apocalypse? and let's not even talk about a fully working thermal sight... On topic, replace with another weapon, should be a russian weapons for the sake of authenticity or just make it heli crash spawn only I agree with you but also agree with vacalouca, as I said replying to rick, it would be really hard to find thermal sights (It includes nightvision) and maybe some nightvision goggles would be easier to find than a thermal scope but it would still be hard to find, also I think they should add some place to charge batteries and stuff, or at least add batteries to the loot tables, just for the realism the batteries on NVGs, GPS, rangefinders and Radios (if they add them) should deplete and you should charge those batteries at a power station or maybe find some at the corner store.

I don't think they should remove all of them from the game, but be realistic for god sake, the russians use russian weapons, not m107s or as50s, which is why I think the only military sniper rifles in the game should be the svd and the sks and also the cz550, it's not a military sniper but it has good long range capabilities, ofc I guess you should be able to get an as50 of an l86a2 from chopper crashes sice they are supposed to be form the british army but you shouldn't be able to find an m107 in a barrack in a russian military base

I like that, rocket did say he wanted to add the construction, why not make a fuel tank in your base? that idea is awesome I would just make it so the servers have a different hive so you would have to create a character on every server you haven't played on, also not all the community is made of assholes like that

It would be nice to have that on the finished product, but it would be too much work to have it by december, I't might never be here but it would be interesting to have a game that did that
