    Really bad ideas that suck!

    Maybe that's ArmA 3 Wasteland.

By the hills and valleys. My good man, vehicular accidents are the number one cause of death for well adjusted healthy people. That's us. Well I appreciate the feedback. You may have my beans. All the no jump arguments are fair, but I would jump a gap, jump up a ledge, jump a fence even. However jumping causes fatigue and you can run and run but you only breathe hard, there are no fatigue effects other than passing out and watching a crude hourglass. When I heard WarZ made you wait 4 hours I lolled.

Reverse psychology got you to read it. Want a horse? Too old for gay jokes, don't know Saxton Hale either. I asked for ideas!
  4. Hello, how do you find servers? I have 4 ways: The in-game multiplayer list. A nice animation of servers that automatically grows and shrinks often to none. The sixLauncher interface. Not too good with Namalsk. gametracker.com only lists a few populated USA based Namalsk sites. Hand enter site. No "favorites". :( These forums, but you have to hand sort by map/geo region. I don't have the other Six company sw, nor do I have dayz launcher or other sw. I'm running Windows XP. Some other questions: Why is teamspeak so important when the game has voice comm? It's hard for me to schedule time for DayZ, but I'm forever alone on it. How to casual hook up? What happened to the Vehicle Madness servers? They were awesome! What is it about DayZ that I play for 2 hours just trying to get a vehicle, and if I fly a plane for 30 seconds it's worth it? Thanks!

*You were kicked off the game* error fix.

I kiss you! Googling "you were kicked off the game" got me here, and the lengthy file cache check did the trick! I wonder if some hacker fondled my files. Anyway, it worked for me and I'm happy to get my fix again! :D :D :D
  6. There should be a tighter tie between the internet managed profile of the DayZ player and the in game character. There are primordial bits of evidence on the forum: alive, clan, equipment lists hand updated. Imagine instead autoblogging who you killed, like "I killed Mike with my AK74 in Cherno", or "I scored a [rare item] at [this location]". By autoblogging achievement like activities, players can get a sense of the other players on the map. For example, if Bill has been alive for 10 days but killed 25 people, maybe I should avoid him.
  7. 1) Jump. I really hate it when I cannot jump in an FPS. To me, spacebar == jump. If WASD is cannon, then spacebar is jump. What if David Lee Roth starts urging me? Get it and crouch! Crouch! I understand some of the larger backpacks make jumping difficult, and this is a realistic sim, but... jump. 2) Bust a move. I've seen the dancing dying death animations as done by the elusive but everywhere hackers. Yet saluting seems more silly than illustrating your friendliness than busting a move in the apocalypse. Young MC would be proud. 3) More vehicles! Scarcity encourages hoarding IRL, hacking (nee duping) in 'replicators exist' land. More vehicles == less shenanigans. If I have to learn another 20 keyboard commands to drive, let me drive. 4) Ride them horses. Satisfies not only more vehicles, but presents a unique vehicle that is refuled with water bottles and wood piles and has blood. Can killfor meat. Consider the dynamic. 5) Fix the girls. No camo/ghillie? Are you nuts? 6) Opt to spawn next to someone. If they kill you fine, but you could start with a partner too. I only brought it to awesome. I'm sure forum members will make it atomic.

    Please read BEFORE posting

Where I work, there is a an in joke that basically states the idea list is where ideas go to die. In other words, @dayz never existed on a list like this, it was simply done.

More intensity - I want to feel the thrill!

I agree with shooter, sometimes running with a fountain of blood rushing from my neck looks a bit silly. Consider some post apocalyptic movies/television/comics/etc. 1) The Road by Cormac McCarthy. Had a kid, kid survived. 2) The Walking Dead. Had several kids, some died, in horrible horrible ways if you read the comic. Right now it's kind of a milky mush of forced psychopathic behavior, i.e. KOS because you will likely be killed. That's not enough, it should be filled out more, with say a young couple trying to escape to the north, to sick fucks, to heroes. Some form of communication would go a long way, like a cross for medics, a white flag for friendlies, like the survivors had already figured out how to communicate a bit before you washed up on the beach. I'm all for blood curdling screams when shot, partners yelling "No!!!!!!!!". Maybe throw in some non-zombie NPC characters, unarmed, that will give you beans if you approach, but usually you will have to save them from a zombie attack first. Imagine rolling along and you see a female running for her life across a field pursued by 5 zeds, and you have to choose to either save her or let her die. Maybe she knows were supplies are hidden. Anyway, this is a mod and as such doing much outside of Arma2 would be a lot of coding and hackery, but l4d had great voice acting and when a player is down or hanging off a ledge they do their best to add an emotional edge to it. Most human players have terrible voice acting but npcs could go a long way to crank up the emotion. Good ideas Shooter! :D
  10. Hello, I would like to play with friendly players. I am in Northern California and can only play nights and weekends (day time job). Player name is "Phineas Humple" EDIT: steam name is crap_n_spam
  11. Good thing it happened in America (albeit with a lot of Russki signs), because, you know, I leave my guns and glow sticks on the ground, out in the shed, etc.
  12. Sadly, I think since your geolocation affects ping time, most people join geographically local servers. Another thing to consider is timezones, like since I am in California, after work times probably do not line up well. Das tut mir leid, aber velischt sie will viel spieler gefunden. (OK, 3 years of high school German 20 years ago is about useless. I tried to say "I'm sorry, but perhaps you will find many players") I'm currently dead, but I did have a meta-friendly encounter while being torn to shreds by zeds, the other survivor offered to give me a transfusion since we were shooting zombies off each other, but wanted to go separate ways after that. I didn't survive. But I do like the idea of being friendly.
  13. Zip lines, to get around faster if all the vehicles have been hoarded. Also, wheeeeeeeee! :D
  14. I still have not found a vehicle and I've stomped through several towns. I would be happy with a bike :D This morning I couldn't stand it and logged in before work. I met my 1st semi-friendly survivor, very suddenly, as we were both running from zombies. Since I had recently died, I only had an AK with 2 mags, pain pills, and an ax. We tried to lose the zombies by running through some trees but that didn't work, so I started shooting, ran out of ammo, and got eaten trying to switch to my ax for some good skull lovin'. The other survivor offered to heal me with a blood pack but it was too late for me. But it was thrilling none the less and I tend to wear a faint smile long after I've stopped playing. :P
