What restriction are you getting kicked for?

Started with Dayzmod and switched to Epoch. There's just so much more content and things to do in Epoch that I don't see myself going back. I enjoy using alot of the weapons and vehicles that were nerfed or removed in Dayz. In addition, there are alot of servers out there offering side missions and other custom content that further diversifies what the game has to offer. IMO, I think Epoch is what Dayz should have been.

I had hopes the patch would get released at some point, but have moved on. I've since moved on to Epoch and it's a refreshing change.

I was hoping for canned cars or canned helos. Hell, even a bike in a can would do.

Don't even bother playing on servers that take donations for special loadouts or other perks. Well, unless you enjoy being abused.

I like to set up in small remote clearings leaving enough room for a chopper or two. Unless your building next to a static fuel tank, your best bet would be to find a tanker truck and incorporate it into your base. If you ever need to move it, make your garage door has enough clearance. For some reason, the garage door kit, if flush with the ground, will only allow cars and suvs through. Despite your best efforts to build a vandal proof base or sticking it in a corner of the map, someone will find it. More importantly, someone will eventually break in so proper planning to mitigate your losses is a good idea. I like planting the plot pole in a block room with a combination locked door and store most valuables in a lockbox or safe. If you plan to do something large scale, consider tagging your friends to have them help you build it out.

The street lights use an RTG with 10 thermocouples each.

I care, I feel he brings up some valid points.

So I've been running a Vanilla Dayz server for awhile now and am considering installing the Epoch mod. For those of you that run Epoch, can you give some opinions and comparisons?
-
I noticed the fact that there are more Epoch servers than Dayzmod. The cleanup script shouldn't be a problem to implement. How do you like Epoch? Is it worth switching even with the plethora of servers?

Nice idea with the frost and radio zones. Great stuff. -
GSP declined action for report of kick/farm server

It's just impossible to police properly. One server goes down and another two pop up in its place. If Bohemia is so adamant about how public servers should be ran, perhaps they should foot the bill and administrate it themselves. -
Agreed, but it seems like any mention of possible inclusions of military grade hardware is met with voting polls, backlash, and whining. I can't speak for anyone else, but I enjoy finding rare or otherwise awesome weapons. Besides, what's the point of military installations without milspec loot? If they can control the duping and hacking, I believe it's entirely possible to still have military hardware while maintaining balance. The days of every player running around with AS50s, M107s, and Satchel Charges was a disaster attributed to the duping issues or ammo crate party. Instead of finding ways to deal with it, the devs decided it was easier to just go ahead and ban everything which was disappointing.

Never happen. Too many complaints with common gems like "overpowered" & "military items don't belong"

1.8.1 And The Future Of The Mod.

It would be nice if they release it. Kind of like a last Hurrah I suppose. Myself and others that play the mod still enjoy it even though we have the SA. -
No vehicles are a deal breaker......

Yep, everyone wants more timers.

For those complaining about development pace

I don't think it's fair to say BF3 wasn't finished. I felt one of the largest mistakes was taking input from the community. Every other patch something got nerfed and another upgraded due to overwhelming complaints and whining. One of the only games I've played in which you can log in every other day and the characteristics of your favorite weapon changes. BF3. Where the original weapons perform better than the unlocks. -
I have an idea for helping with the KOS problem. Rocket should read.
R.J. replied to Rzach's topic in General Discussion
I don't see an issue with KOS. I'm sure the dev crew have more important tasks to deal with. -

This just proves bananas need to be rare. An anti-banana loot timer needs to be employed to balance out the game. -
Only way to really fix these issues is with private hives.

I have to disagree. 10-15 is too long of a wait. If I dislike a server or wish to change to play with friends, this will surely induce frustration. I was under the impression another form of dealing with changing servers without the introduction of timers was in the works? -

R.J. replied to Mullucka's topic in General Discussion
I don't know where many of you came up with the idea that every private hive had 10,000 vehicles, high end gear, and abusive admins. This is simply not true. As for 24/7 daylight, I'll state my personal experience with it. Nothing kills a server faster than incorporating the day/ night cycle. I had players who were all gung-ho begging for night only to leave after an hour due to boredom & frustration. I'm not saying every server cleared out, but a majority of players clearly didn't care for it after experiencing it first hand. If history is any indication, once the novelty of the night cycle in SA wears off, players will server hop to find a day server instead. -

R.J. replied to Mullucka's topic in General Discussion
The public and private hives will basically divide the playerbase, which is a good thing. I'm looking forward to the freedom of running a private server and not interested in wading through posts with ridiculous ideas in the quest of further dumbing down key aspects of the game to appease the few. The public hive discussions will always have complaints, players that are never satisfied, and worst of all, the influence to change things that made the original mod fun to play. On the public hive, I was really hoping the devs would make decisions on all aspects of the game without outside influence aside from bugs and other critical game fixes. If nobody wishes to play on someones private hive, there's always somewhere different to go and something interesting to discover based on an individuals vision of Dayz. -
Please keep this game as hardcore as you can!!!
R.J. replied to sav112g's topic in General Discussion
Agreed, hardcore as possible. In keeping with the realism, .50 Cal rifles and HMGs need to be reintroduced and not open for debate. Adaptation to the environment will take the place of whining as there's no time for tears.
