Is it just me or has there been an admin crack down on out of control threads lately? I'm not trying to stir anything up but am curious about what brought all this on. Are we tired of the hate threads and the flaming? or is there some other guidlines to the many locked threads i've seen recently. This might be just my perception, and I will admit to flaming before. However as a member of the comunity i wouldn't want to see ever negitive coment about DayZ become locked. Thats half the point of the forums imo.

Do tents work on all the private hives? or is it just the ones that people are paying to get now?

The thing I love about this game is that every time I'm in PvP my heart rate goes up. You can only get that intensity by knowing that you could lose everything. Beans to you brother.

I'd have to say if I made a map I would put in 98% enterable buildings, and posibly a sewer system. Mostly Urban areas with smaller wooded safe zones. Possibly make it like boston with a river and a harbor, bridges and other stratigic choke points. It would be smaller scale than Chernus. I think I would also like to find a way to make lockable doors where you could bar zombies/players out of an area. it would take a few zombie swipes to or a nice axe/shotgunblast to open the door from the outside.

I agree, people are too demanding on Rocket and crew considering they developed a free mod. And yes this comunity whines alot. I was really hoping to get the attention of a forum admin/moderator to provide a bit more insight. Maybe its just my perception that more topics are being locked. It is a boring night at work :D

Admin can have god powers on a private hive. From my experiance the type of person who is willing to use his own equipment for the purposes of a private hive isn't going to abuse that. Strong comunities and lots of fun. and they tend to not know how to handle my banditry :D All that being said I'm launching my private hive in the next week. The bullets seemed to be hitting from a higher altitude. possibley the industral looking tower. Maybe multiple shooters. No gun shots so maybe not even a sniper rifle.

I'm not actualy a MODer myself. I'm thinking that when the stand alone comes out I want to get into it. Maybe I should just start practicing with some ARMA II mods. I'd apreatiate anyone who would point me into the right direction to start :D

I was running unarmed through electro and came across a man with an M9SD. I ignore him, and hope that he relizes i'm unarmed and no threat.. well that starts a hilarious 10 minute chase through electro as he tries to shoot me and i circle straff him telling him he should be happy I didn't have an axe. eventualy i bleed down to 3k and pass out. GG. I respawn outside electro and find an axe in a barn. Sweet revenge time. I get sight running into the fire station and follow. He goes up the tower. I wait in the main room edged up along the wall, axe at the ready. As soon as his head pops out of the stairwell I club him once with the axe. He spins on me and starts to fire, but I break his legs. I circled around him to line up a kill and the ass hole alt+f4ed. Since then i've repeated this tactic against better armed individuals. Catch them in the head or legs and its GG.

I've never heard of anyone breaking their leg from running too much. Shinsplints are damage to the muscle. Well there are stress fractures, but thats not something that you can shake off, it has a 6-8 week recovery time. And even then stress fractures are mainly from running the wrong way.

speaking of wich does anyon have any good resources for info on private severs? I've been doing a good bit of research but still there is alot to know.

Edit: I'm removing a large rant about my issue with M16s. I won't force my view on others but if you really want to know do some research about when it got phased in in the Vietnam war. I really hate that gun. I've fired AR15s and M16s several times and in optimum conditions they are great fire arms. acurate and lightweight. Maybe the latest generation of M16 holds up better in the field, idk. I just have too much hate for the gun. Hell, when we first went to Iraq it wasn't uncomon to have us soldiers with AKs outside of the cities.

If you make the full barrel m16 do more damage you better go for full on realism and have it jam once ever 2-3 mags and you get shot in the face while clearing your barrel. That being said I would rather have the M4A1. Remember short controled burst and you would be fine. Also can be used as a supresion weapon if you are with a group.
