I've taken to not playing this game anymore. That's my personal response to the amount of hacking occurring in this game. Personally, I do not find it fun having to spend an hour or two equipping your char just to wander off and be slain by a hacker. Folks who consider this type of "gameplay enjoyable must be masochists. On top of the hacking, there is the camping of noob zones by well equipped players who just sit in the "newbie towns (i.e. Cherno and Electro)" and pick off unarmed noobs like lambs going to slaughter. They (the DayZ developer(s)) made a big mistake by removing the starting weapon from game. Every starting player should start with an Enfield (or some other common rifle of the time) and a small amount of ammo for it. Period. The entire premise of this "mod"/game is that we, the player character, have survived thus far through the "Zombie Apocalypse" so why, on Earth, WOULDN'T WE BE ARMED TO START THE GAME?

I'm torn on this subject really. On one hand, I like the current format where all we have is a color bar and we do not know exactly what level our health is at. This, for me, creates a sense of "urgency" if not outright "panic" when playing if I find myself with a blinking red health bar. I know my goose is cooking... but do I have enough time to reach a hospital... to get help... to extract myself from virtual peril. On the remaining hand, I miss the old statistics "health bar". This was convenient to have as we knew exactly where our health level stood and thus knew exactly when shock/unconsciousness/death would manifest themselves.

Nothing is saving correctly is my guess. I purposely died in-game after a fresh spawn just to see if I could spawn in a better "noob" location. I spawn a noob in and what do I find? My "noob" starts in a brand new location but he's got a broken leg and is bleeding out... WTF? I just uninstalled this game. I wish you the best OP as I'm off to pwn noobs in GW2 where I can log in a level 1 noob and immediately go PvP with a max level 80 char and all its skills! Woot! Go Go GO ArenaNet!!!

LOL! I DL'd all the new patches/versions after taking a month off from this game (due to me being perturbed with all the gameplay/coding bugs and hackers too). I log in today and play for an hour only to find out the loot tables seem to have been changed (i.e. not as much "good" loot it appears).

ROFL! I feel your pain but coming in here and venting is not proper I don't believe. EVERY TIME I HAVE GEARED UP IN CHERNO/ELECTRO I have met a quick end at some hack or some leet-squad sniper outfit who relishes pumping led into noobs from ~1,000m's out is more fun that fighting equally equipped opponents. So I'm with you on your sentiment OP but not in the location in which you elected to vent! ;)

Wait for the DayZ stand-alone version to be released later this year. The current DayZ Mod for A2 is crap because of all the damn hackers... and I mean A LOT of hackers.

I quit playing this game/Mod due to the amount of hackers. It's pathetic... especially when one stops to consider the ramifications. It's not the game which sucks... it's Humanity which sucks. Humans did not reach the top of the food chain by being honorable, moral, and principaled. Humans reached the top of the food chain because they are cheats, liars, cutthroats, murderers, and otherwise vile. Keep that lesson in Humanity in mind when playing virtual games and you may be better able to stomach the hacks which proliferate in this game/Mod.

Only time I get aggravated with dying is when I'm at 9K+ health only to catch a bleeding wound and then go UNCONSCIOUS FOR FIVE GODDAMN MINUTES during which I bleed out and die. Seriously, one of two things needs to change. First, either reduce the unconscious timer to 3 minutes or so or second reduce the rate of blood loss. Seriously. I was lowcrawling into a building and caught Zed aggro just as I broke my legs (due to the faulty game code) and then the Zed bit me in the arse and gave me a bleeding wound. So I shot Zed Ded and then passed out unconscious and died from the blood loss. Talk about pissing in my Cheerios. LOL!

How are you folks communicating with folks in-game? Via chat or the regional voice comms? An external voice comm's server? I can't get my mic working so I can't communicate via in-game voice comms... and I'm told I can no longer use a global chat in this game as it was removed in one of the more recent updates/patches.

I seriously doubt this mod's developers are going to devote much (if any) more resources to this mod. They're hard at work at developing for release the stand-alone version of this game/mod. If they do bother to invest more time in this mod I surely hope they remedy this out of freakin' control hacking that is going on.

Take a damn chill pill. I am a FAR BETTER writer than you ever will be and I'm not close to being 10 years old. My post asked a question ABOUT YOUR SERVER it was NOT an opinion about your server. I DID offer my opinion on the state of this game and the amount of hacking afflicting it though. If you, or anyone else, thinks this level of hacking is acceptable you've got another thing coming. Furthermore, DayZ's standalone will be using portions of the ARmA II engine so don't assume it will be free of hacking. If they cannot quell hacking now there's no way they're going to quell it come standalone time. *** Edit *** Lastly, lashing out with indiscriminate personal attacks (after being accused) wreaks of guilt. Maybe it is YOU who should be looking in the mirror and not the rest of us.

Yup, like being able to run backwards up a hillside faster than we can run forwards up it. Or... how about breaking our damn leg when lowcrawling into an industrial/commercial shed... or about actually being able to use bloodpacks on ourselves? After all... they TRAINED US IN THE MILITARY to give ourselves I.V.'s if we needed them... surely we could administer blood packs to ourselves (so long as we're conscious). Lastly, how about Zombies breaking our damn leg and rendering us unconscious for 5+ minutes... really? Sheesh. They hit hard enough as it is since they were last "buffed"... we don't need to be breaking our legs 'cause of them too! The list of ARmA II's engine bugs is long sadly.

I've found all the top tier stuff... by looting the tents of dupers. LOL! One fool duped so many tents he left a trail of them from his main camp all the way into Cherno. I looted his crap then went far away and killed myself to zombies in a far away town just to piss him off. I hate cheaters... and yes YOU DUPERS ARE CHEATERS. Fix your game Bohemia.

WoW! Folks need to read some other periodicals/interviews before hedging their bets on JUST ONE. I've read other interviews/statements where DayZ's standalone will be using the good/pertinent parts of ARmA II AND ARmA III's engines. OP is way out of line in his/her sentiment here.

It is NOT usually caused by Alt-F4'ing. It is caused by any means which corrupts the data connection between the server and client. I say this because this exact same thing has happened to me and I don't Alt-F4. The server crashed and screwed me (it crashed because of a hacker mind you). Now I have perma-ghillie suit and NOTHING in my inventory not even a backpack. I spawned on the coast as well but haven't logged in since because I was fed up.

I'd team up but I work tonight so won't be around. Teaming up is about the only aspect of this game I've yet to try and it may be worth trying since the hacking is driving me bonkers during solo play.

Hacking is rampant... just logged into three different servers and all three had hackers in it. One hacker had a sense of humor though... everywhere I went he trailed a forest (INFERNO!) fire right behind me. So there I was in my ghillie suit with no weapons (Thanks Hacker from the previous server!) running into the city and then next thing I know the entire sky lights up red behind me. As I move along the all consuming fire follows me right into the city... ROFL! Burn City BURN!

I feel ya. I'm just about to uninstall this DayZ game and go back to playing something else. Arma II I've played out and no longer am entertained by it.

AS50 is a legit weapon or was it hacked into game? P.S. Gratz on your find OP! I found a few tents hours ago and plundered their loot while they were away. Alas, it was short lived fun for a hacker killed everyone on the server I was on and stripped us of our goodies. It's SUCH a shame this DayZ game rocks yet is so rife with hackers/cheaters/exploiters/server hogs.

US 836 is having server shutdowns whenever their vehicles are lost? WTF is up with this game? Hacking, cheating, abuse... it's all at a level beyond comprehension at this point. DayZ developers... get your act together.

That player locator hack is RUNNING RAMPANT in nearly all FPS MMO games at the moment. Sad state of affairs right now in MMO gaming... worse still is the fact gaming companies turn a blind eye to fixing the hack/cheat problem.
