All who complain a lot - you need understand and accept that this is alpha and not a finalized game. We not playing, there are a lot of bugs/glitches. Stop complaining remove this or that because its makes mod non-playable. How do you think devteam will fix it if they would remove bugged items? They need see problem so they can find solution. You should be grateful that you have access to this alpha.

After playing DayZ that what i see: in the beginning game play was pretty good - people were playing friendly and were helping each other. After some time most people got bored - no real goal anymore. And this is major problem why most games die. Below here is a list (IMHO) what problems DayZ mod have: 1.People who played for long time already had all equipment they want and they have no more goal. They start looking for more difficult tasks and started PVP for no logical reasons - just to kill some time. There is no logical reasons in this kills. People lost main real world concept - precious of human life. Because this is game they killing everything that moves just for fun-. And most people switched to dark side because they got really angry (emotions moved from virtual world to real world) and they started kill everyone as well - the easiest way to protect themselves. So far this project moving from reality survival mod to primitive FPS that we have a lot already. 2. Second point - Zombies not a threat for ppl who has in hand anything but flashlight. That make them as a walking trees - not much people afraid to go in the middle of town/village surrounded by dozens zombies. IMHO that why ppl got bored as well and started dummy deathmatch. Finally here are my suggestions: 1. So far in this Alpha mod we have only game engine, so people can see how it could be. Main future change should be different map layout. 1.1 All big cities and high yield loot areas ( for example military) should be moved far north and not available for new characters. 1.2 Map should be divided in 2 parts: Coast area - NO PVP and no zombies. Could be very thin line at sea coast where people would feel safe. No one can kill anybody here. Here ppl can interact: find parties, trade loot, ask for help e.c. Second main area can be divided from safe area with some kind of wall or natural barrier for zombies like river... That where people will go for loot. Once you step on other side - you on your own: PVP allowed so go there when you ready. From south to north villages should go from small to bigger size. So people have goal to go deeper north if they want get some valuable stuff. Need give reason to people to go far north and make this raid harder. 2. Zombies: 2.1 Zombies should be more deadly, so people saw real threat from zombies and think twice: kill another player next to you or may be team up with him. I think this is the only way to make people remember - nothing more precious in real life than human life. Not cool outfit, not biggest gun, but human life. 2.2 How make zombie more deadlier - IMHO - this mod missing main zombie feature - zombie infection. To make people afraid of zombie, player should get zombie infection if he got bitten by zombie. Let say if player got this kind of infection, he will start mutate in zombie and lets say in couple days he will die. Its not affected by bleeding. You can still have fool blood, but you will die because of mutation. There are should be ways how to heal mutation - blood transfusion looks pretty good for this purpose (for temporary time only to extend mutation time) but it can be fully cured only in safe coast line with special equipment. This will prevent people run in the middle of city with hatchet only. Once you got infected, you should go back to coast and get cured. As a addition, mutated dead player can turn into zombie and walk around with same equipment as player was. So some lucky player can kill him and get stuff. 2.3 Zombies will die only when you shoot them in the head. May be shotguns with pellets will be more popular - one shot with pellets can kill couple zombies. 2.4 Zombie respawn.....This is survival mode and you count every bullet (have not much room to carry a lot of ammo because you need other supplies too, and you still need to find your ammunition as well). But it just looks ridiculous when player cleared some area from zombies with highly limited ammo, so he can go there for looting. But zombies respawning right behind your back in few seconds.. Give people reward for clearing area from zombies and let them loot area safely. I think zombies should respawn after some time delay. 3. Would be great to give people interact options 3.1 Trading: When people going for trading, trading window appears with 2 section yours and other player. You can see stuff and if both agreed hit confirm button - to prevent rip off . Trading by throwing items on the ground doesn't look fair enough. 3.2 Bounty hunters: at coast line you can hire other player / squad so they can revenge for your death and hunt and kill bandit killed you. This will make little bit balance in PVP. I think lots current bandits / squads will turn into bounty hunters because it has logical reason to find bandit and kill him. Not just kill everything that moves. 3.3 Make some ranking system for bandits and bounty hunters. So people can see who most deadliest bandit and most successful bounty hunter. PS: not sure if all this i said doable in current mod or i just flying in the sky, but anyway these are my thoughts.

Gameplay changing: map layout, zombie behavior

Sad but true, its already became COD deathmatch in worse possible way. Its not even PVP, its pure PK. In case if somebody don't know difference: PVP - its when players on both hostile sides willing to shoot each other and best skilled player win. Its great feature and most players can master their skills. In DayZ i would see this like some squad versus squad fight trying to take control over some valuable area. And this would be really great. But PK - its when player intend to kill another player when he don't expect. Mostly camping or shooting in the back. And nothing glorious in that IMHO. In all games PVP and PK have different setup. PVP - its the way to see who better. PK - its cowards way to get some advantage and kill innocent. You have your own vision of gameplay and nobody arguing with you. As Rocket said, we all suggest and only he will make decision. What Rocket want to create its one thing, and what playing community made in reality with his project its absolutely different thing. Regarding trading - it will give players some goal. Not just pick up new weapon you can use and drop old, but may be drop some supplies and try bring some item for trade. Ranking - may be i didn't word it correctly (thought i wrote to much already and didn't want to write more). In my point of view ranking has nothing to do with skill points or unlocking better weapons or other BS. I thought make like player statistic that available for other players to see. So when you going to hire bounty hunter, you will have some options: rookie - the cheapest, skilled player with a lot bandits kills - more expensive. Like in real life. In order to increase price for your service you need master you skills and sell it to customer.
