Because stopping to change weapons in a firefight is "realistic". LMAO.

Basically there is this one guy that would always kill my friend in the Origin servers and he would always rage. (My friend sucks at the game unfortunately) I told my friend I would one day, kill him and take his stuff as revenge.. But what happened was WAY better. I was flying over Dubovo Airport when I heard shots ring out.. and a kill message. My "enemy" just killed someone under me.. Me taking a risk, I decide to offer him a ride. I go into side chat and ask if anyone needs a ride. As expected, the "enemy" types out "ME!" in all caps. I told him to put his gun away before I drop and he does so and puts it in his backpack. Then we get into the chopper and I tell him we're going to loot Salvation City.. On my way there, I took a detour and went to the EDGE OF THE OCEAN on the map, lying to his face in Vehicle chat telling him we're almost there and that it's a HUGE map etc. And then I put my plan into action.. I scream into Vehicle Chat, "We're out of gas, we're crashing!" As I turn off the helicopter mid-flight and go into a plunge. I tell him to eject and watch as his parachute goes off while I'm in 3rd person. After he got out, I pull it out of the plunge and turn it back on barely clearing the water. I start laughing like a mad man to myself as I BARELY escape the same demise.. I auto hover after regaining control and find my way back to him. And I change to direct chat and say, "How do you like getting screwed over yourself?" and left. He was about maybe 12k meters away from any homeland of any kind. Then I remembered what made it worse.. it's the fact that he was on a public Origins hive.. so any server that was connected would put him there. At that point I felt bad, but hey.. he's killed many people and that's what he gets. For the next 3 hours, he was calling for people to pick him up.. No one did. LMAO. He then logged off later.

UPDATE: Earlier today, I joined up the Origins server.. and then I got to the lobby list and notice his name. As soon as I spawn, I'm about to type in Side chat and ask him a question or two. As I say that, I see "ANYONE with a chopper want to pick me up? I'll give you my DMR and backpack" A guy with a chopper (I'm assuming has one) responds with: "Alright, where are you?" Guy in ocean: "I'm in the ocean close to Salvation city, but I don't have a map so no idea where I'm going" They talked for a little while til the chopper guy gave up.. couldn't find him. Lol. This went on for a little while before I switched to DayZero with friends (which is amazing). tldr; Guy still in the ocean, got offered help, but no way to find him, he thinks he's by Salvation City (NOT AT ALL LOL), still suck in the ocean. TALK ABOUT OUCH. LMAO.

I've started streaming lately since my internet was beefed up so I'm looking for mature 21+ players that play either Origins/Overwatch etc. that will form a tight knit group that'll know how to survive, play long game sessions and will be available with a mic.. bring a personality to the table as well! Lost on a big island, littered with zombies. Only a few survived, little do you know, others are on the island with you... Will have a script, cinematic editing, licensed music use, and best of all. Emotions. Every character will their own flaws deep down which will get highlighted as the youtube series goes on. I'm willing put some hard work and effort in. it will continue into the Standalone which will make for even better movies with the customizing.. I'll go through more details with what my plan is, but add me and I'll talk in private with you guys and anyone interested in a teamspeak channel, mumble etc. It will be put on YouTube. I do have an editor. I'm coming up with a mini series of episodes that will have role playing, military tactics and emotions running deep. It will be popular. I'll make sure of that. Great footage caught yesterday with a couple of buddies for fun to see what it'd look like!. I could upload that by itself.. but nah. and it was pretty awesome! 2 versus 5 man squad and we took them out with Lee Enfields and baiting. :D

Awesome guys. Basically, we'll run as a squad doing certain objectives. Then do voice over after it's done. We had an intense moment yesterday as 2 of us were fighting against a squad at the fire station at Krasno Airport. None of us died. :) Looking forward to this guys!

You're reading into this way more than you should. I barely have played this game for the last couple months due to a shitty rig. So, no, I DON'T play too much. A CoD kiddy? No, that's his expertise. I'm using him for his AMAZING editing work. I want to create a series with a story behind it. Think Walking Dead. The language barrier? Please, it's a couple words. Not a whole language. Jesus. It's going to be fun if it's the way I imagined it. I think everyone on this forum would appreciate the work I'd be putting into it. Believe me.

I mean not to put anyone down, but Frankie DayZ videos on youtube get like 500k views a piece, and he BARELY uploads them anymore. I can fill that void that so many people look forward to. Building upon a story. Get people involved, used HIGH settings so it looks real, play in only First person to give it authenticity, etc. Use head bob to give it that real feel of being chased by zombies, not some boring static running animation. Keep a look out guys. I'll make sure the first episode is addicting so that maybe I could start a trend!

Oh man, I have such a good vision for the future of Day Z on youtube. If anyone is interested please message me. I already have 20k views on my channel but from Counter Strike and other games. My editor is well known in the CoD community with thousands of subscribers. He's amazing with his work. We would make it like a machinima cinematic!

All funny. 3770k doesn't benefit AT ALL in gaming. Essentially the same FPS exactly in games. Don't need the extra threads. Faster ram DOES make it faster. My 690 IS overclocked +125 etc. I normally run a 4.6ghz since I'm watercooled but I was giving your FPS the benefit of the doubt. I run my game off the SSD as well. But this is not the point. I get 85 fps in city because I followed a great tweak guide.

To add to the thread. 3570k at 4.2ghz, GTX 690 EVGA, and CPU water cooling, 16 gigs of 2133mhz RAM, Z77a MSI, and Samsung 840 Pro SSD. I'm at 165 frames at night. With everything on high at 1920x1080. I don't use any effects that make the game feel slow or laggy. (Post process, vsync etc) on a 120hz monitor. Running around Cherno I'll get 50fps running, but standing still about 85fps. There's a big difference between taking a screen shot when stationary and when not stationary. And my computer is even better than the OP's due to ram and overclocking! These are glory screenshots. It's not THAT smooth playing Dayz. BF3 on the other hand? Everything on Ultra at like 160fps in the middle of a 64 player server. lol. And to add; I'm doing all the tweaks I can to get game as soon as can be! Even though with a 690 I can play pretty.. I prefer smooth.

Playing Namalsk yesterday with a friend. I had a Winchester and my friend had a Lee Enfield.. Were east of Vorkuta, and we spot an airdrop as we loot it, we start getting shot at. He gets shot and goes down with a broken leg and tries shooting back at the guy. And while I go to look for him. I get shot and pass out. I'm out bleeding, blood blinking red, and I knew it was going to be a close call when i regain consciousness... After he finishes off my friend, I gain consciousness and my player starts doing the animation where you grab your gun three times.. as I do this, I start to roll and I heard him shoot and miss. In first person, through the grass, I nail him using directional sound and nail him. I crawl over to his body.. epi pen him to wake him up and to hear his response... and then shoot him again in the head while I was over his lifeless body. He was mad. Thanks for the map and compass dude.

I understand Cherno because the game is 1.7.3 and it shows in Dayz Commander. But what about Fallujah, Namalsk, Panthera, or Lingor? Do those servers use 1.7.3 and how would you know, it doesn't really show on those servers in the server list. It just shows what map version it is.. I play no more cherno anymore.. So that's why I'm asking.

I do all the right things regarding the calculations for what FOV I want, but when i go into my (username).ArmAIIOA file and open in notepad, change it, and then save it.. I get back in game and nothing has changed. I even changed the regular AA2 arma profile ones as well. Although what I did notice is my ingame name is different than my file ARMA2OA name which is cosmin. In game I'm Pr0phe7. But I don't see why that should matter!

Oh like I want a certain amount of FOV. About 100 degrees since I have a 1920x1080 monitor. Very wide monitor so I can benefit for it.

So if I want to play 1.7.3.. the namalsk one is the only one with the fixes?

I heard great things about Namalsk, I am about to play it at 4:30-5 PST tonight when i get off work. It has over 90 unique buildings and DIFFERENT guns?! This is crazy to me! I am curious as to how it plays. Has anyone played it yet? Or looking to group up off fresh spawns and get to looting? I heard you need jackets and food is NOT EASY to come by.
