Worst mistake I've made yet: throwing a grenade

There I am, with my newly acquired M9SD and Assault backpack I found in the Elektro fire station. I also found two frag grenades. I'm on the top floor and begin walking downstairs when I see a toweled head with an AK. He starts shooting at me and I manage to get back to the top floor without injury. He is still waiting down there, so I decide to try out my new frag. I get in position, select the frag, and press the left mouse button. About 10 seconds later the animation to throw the frag grenade is almost complete but not before I get killed by the AK wielding bandit while completely defenseless. Lesson learned: Never throw frag grenades. -
Respect. You checked the status of your friend's health before bandaging yourself. Take these beans, good sir.

What more is this than server hopping? Going onto unpopulated servers, gathering loot, then what? Going back on populated ones and killing or surviving with the loot? Completely destroys the purpose of the game. There should be a risk in going into danger zones. -
Uh oh, got killed by a bandit while on a shitty server in Elektro and lost my Makarov. Can't take this alpha mod anymore, must quit.

Parachuting out of a helo

I parachuted out of a fast moving helicopter the other day and landed completely fine. I've never died from a helicopter parachuting accident, so I can't really relate. -

You also need to understand that stepping on a road is equivalent to firing off an AKM round for zombies. If you run on a road, zombies from all over the town will come after you. Be sure to crawl when ever you're crossing over roads. -
All players with vehicles are hackers?

I salute you, someone who actually tried to repair a vehicle. The best bet for solo players or two-man-team players is a motorcycle. They have no need for repairs, only fuel. I always use motorcycles since most of their spawn locations are pretty remote, and their bright colors make them hard to hide in pine trees far north. -

Wind is a huge variable in long-distance shooting, and I think that it would be very appropriate if the feature was added in the standalone (though I doubt it). Wind coming from in front of or behind a bullet can completely change the distance the bullet travels. A crosswind can completely change where the bullet lands horizontally. For example: if you shoot at a target 550 meters away, a crosswind at 2.23 meters per second would cause that bullet to land over 35 centimeters away from the original target (at a muzzle velocity of 762 meters per second). -
Myself, I hide bodies when it is appropriate. Corpses that have a bandage and box of painkillers on them shouldn't just be lying around, so I hide those. I also hide the bodies of bandits that I killed. Otherwise, I usually just check the bodies and move on.

I read your story. Hackers will be what they are, for whatever reason that they chose. I hope that this thread brings some of them to a full realization of what they have done.

How long do Heli Crashes stay for?

Helicopter crash sites stay until the server restarts. When the server restarts, it will be a new seed that places new crash sites across the map. -
When it comes to semi automatic, unscoped rifles, always take the fully automatic if the option is presented.

I just came across an M40A3 in-game and stumbled upon this thread while googling to see if it was legitimate. After using it for a little while there's not much I can say about it. It has zeroing, a decent scope, ghillie webbing, and bolt action firing with a fairly common ammo type. I don't see a problem with adding it but there really isn't a reason to do so when (as good as) the exact same sniper rifle is out there, the M24. If you want a ghillie webbed M24, maybe there should be a feature where you can glue grass onto your rifle's barrel.
