Theres nothing to do in DayZ
Sir Diealot replied to Eazy-Makaveli's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
DayZ obviously isn't a game for you. Like was said, play ArmA 2. You know, the game you bought to play this mod? They have a box of weapons there waiting for you when you spawn and you can pick yours from dozens of different ones. And you can parachute right where the action is, maybe even teleport, if theres an MHQ deployed near the AO. Or perhaps just play Ca.. ehh.. ..other games. -
Middle age men who play Dayz
Sir Diealot replied to DazTroyer's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I have no idea what that thing in the picture is, but I remember playing Pong in my 'early days' in the 80's. But that thing had like 3 buttons, one of which was the on/off switch. :D -
OP: You had my beans after I read the title. :D good post. And this is a good point with which I agree; (although it is a matter of taste) And what does that say about the 'industry' today..? An alpha mod riddled with problems and its still on the top. :)

I believe the phrase in this context should be; "dont let the door kill you on your way out." Anyways, have some beans. :D

Did 1.7.2.6 break hunger/thirst/bleeding for anyone else in debug mode?
Sir Diealot replied to catface.jpg's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yup, it's bugged. (or intentional, who knows :) ) But change Options/Game options/DayZ UI to 'default' and you'll have working indicators. Just without the debug monitor. -
yes. /(alpha)

That's what I was gonna say, to the Letter. Beans. :D

I'd like to add (besides DayZ Commander); If you have the chance, I'd recommend the torrent-download for the DayZ-patch, as the DZC download seems to take forever. (I'm currently in the process. Lots of load, I imagine. Should've just done it manually)

Yes, this is indeed a sad state of affairs. But one word to you, 'private hive'. Thats what you need. (That's what I needed). My first encounter on such a server; guy asks for help (broken legs so he needs morphine. on side chat, btw.). Me and one other guy respond, but I move to him as I'm closer. (in Cherno, btw) I find him, give him morphine, we exchange blood transfusions (i had 2 bags), we do some trading and head our separate ways. After this, my faith in humanity (and gamers) was somewhat restored. And yes, this has been discussed before. :D :edit: I'm not saying all ph-servers or encounters on them are like this, but the chances of finding one increase.

Why is everybody so satisfied with ARMA2 Engine?
Sir Diealot replied to EndEffeKt's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
A bit OT, but: When playing ArmA 2 (not DayZ), most of the bugs and 'clunkiness' of the UI that many complain about, dont even come to play. This is because for, example; you use rocks for cover, not something to climb on, you very rarely, if ever, need to go through doors (and never when proned) and in most cases you'll never have to use the UI (which I agree, is not the best, but you do get used to it) after the initial weapon switch, if even that. ArmA 2 is about tactics, positioning, awareness and teamwork (to name a few 'features'). Not that DayZ isnt any of that, but its additional features would require a more sophisticated platform, which is why we are getting the standalone, on a 'new' engine that fixes such things. -
Should we remove barbed wire in the next update
Sir Diealot replied to mattlightfoot's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
Yes, if you don't plan to change their 'behaviour'. (or if they cause graphic glitches for example, not sure if they do) No, if: -zombies will not get through them, or atleast be slowed down -they dont break legs (bleeding maybe, % chance) -
Why the hell are you people still playing this goddamn mod?
Sir Diealot replied to Inception.'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
'Cause it is one of a kind. And most bugs dont bug me, cause they're avoidable. :D -
bump.

Nice. Worthy of some beans. :D And yes, radios please. With adjustable frequencies.

While I don't really dislike the idea of underground construction, (as long as it's done right, which I'm sure it will) I'd also rather first have the ability to fortify existing buildings and such. As a few examples; locking doors, boarding up windows, fixing/raising fences, chainlocking gates and such. It also seems more realistic, atleast the way I see it. The structure would be there, 'all ready', you just need to make it 'safe'. Digging holes in the ground wouldn't be the first thing on my mind, were a situation like this presented to me. I think. :D

What do you do when you hit "endgame" status?
Sir Diealot replied to sauna's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
For me, there is no 'endgame', or atleast I have not come upon it yet. Or maybe it's the "You are dead"-screen, I dunno. I'm not one to hunt down players for the heck of it, so the 'gear' really doesn't have much value for me. Sure I have a weapon to defend myself if shit hits the fan. I might start helping random people, if the odds of not getting shot in the face would be bigger. But if (and when?) the day comes that I can't find something 'new' to do, I'll probably just find some creative way to off myself and start over. -
I could say pretty much the same thing. Beans for that, I guess..? Anyway, I'm not tired or bored of DayZ. I was getting kinda close though, so I've been holding myself back, so I don't overplay it. I've done that with a few games recently, which sucks balls. And that's my fault. So I guess in a sense, DayZ has driven me also to better myself as a person. As in not no-lifing a game for weeks on end. :D

Beans from me too. :D @OP: Here is your problem right here, YOU are the only one who can fix this:

My first priority would be to do everything every whiny, impatient little biatch on the forums asks me. Then bunnies. Zombiebunnies. ;)

Poll- Very slowly regenerating blood?
Sir Diealot replied to colekern's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Not a bad idea at all imho. As long as it is really slow.
