Rocket, Please don't. (Dayz on Console).

I used to have a Nintendo 8-bit, that broke. I had a PlayStation(1) once, that and its about 8 controllers got fucked up. Then I got some money and took a PC in the knee. Never looked back. PC still in my knee. (a bit off-topic, but deal with it) Peace. SD.

    Hordes

I think: (This is a quick version) A few, lets say 2-5, persistent, HUGE hordes, around 20-100 (depending on what can be done, engine-wise) roaming all of Chernarus, perhaps in random patterns, perhaps in a pre-determined pattern from town to town. -these should move medium fast, be loud and god forbid, if they catch your scent when you're alone, you are pretty much fucked. so hide your ass or be armed to the last of your teeth. I'd have a few more ideas about the spread of Zeds, but since this is about hordes, I'll leave at this. Peace. SD.

The #1 problem that Day Z is facing today

I shall not criticize, i shall not judge, all I ask of you is to read this: DayZ Wiki: Known bugs and/or this: DayZ dev-heaven Bug Tracker. Peace. SD.

What's up with people naming themselves "admin"?

Yeh, I'm kinda old too, I guess :) I remember playing with some TF-figurines at a friends house, but never owned any. I had tons of He-Man-figurines though, and some TMNT. Ahh, *nostalgia-sigh* Also, Zombie Jesus reminds me of me on a Saturday morning (or quite frankly any morning atm) =long dark hair, beard and looking like shit. (not to mention the moaning) :D

What's up with people naming themselves "admin"?

That sort of pisses me off too, just a bit. And I for one can not explain the reasoning behind that. I could be hugely mistaken assuming this, but I dont think a single real server admin would name themselves just plain 'admin' or 'Administrator'. Anyhoo.. Now I'm not a big KoS/PvP/bandit kinda guy, but for some reason I think that if such a person -or if I ever turn to the dark side- would see a nametag that says 'admin', they would indeed take his ass down ASAP, due to the stupid naming-bluff attempt. But again, this is pure speculation and what the fuck do I know. Someone with factual data on this matter, please enlighten us. :D :edit: Yes, indeed Entaro and orlok are correct. (I R stupid, and didnt think of that. Been using custom PC/Profile name since day 1.) Of course there may be people attempting something in the line of what OP and I were thinking. Peace. SD.

Things that SHOULD be in Dayz by tomorrow...

Haha, I'd love to wear that 'Bruce Dickinson' in the topleft corner. Would need the hair too though. :D But to the gun-issue I'd say less of them, but more variety, yes. Have beans, man.

Can we make this mod/game harder?

Harder you ask? Drop your weapons, except maybe an axe, maybe only keep a makarov/crossbow. Try to survive with the minimum equipment. Only eat freshly cooked boarmeat. Only loot deerstands/the smallest villages and avoid major cities. Try to avoid any and all confrontation. Get out of your comfort-zone. Whatever of this sort. There are many ways to actually play the game, although it may currently seem there's only a few. Peace. SD.

    Should people stop complaining?

Yes, it's a vicious cycle to say the least. :) And while I fully understand and basically agree with what you're saying, I think sometimes you gotta call this behaviour out, so that maybe, just maybe it will alter someones -even if it's just one person- attitude/thinking. In doing so, you will most likely breed half-a-dozen more turds and 'tards, but hey, hopefully at least that one person has 'grown' a little. :D Yes, I have been killed a few times by these script kiddies too, and usually just after I've gathered the 'necessaries' to survive alone in the world. Sure it pissed me off big time, I ragequit, went for a smoke. But would I call that time 'wasted', no, because I had a helluva fun time until that point. And as to what to do about it and basically about anything thats bugging you; In my view there's only 3 things: 1. Deal with it. Continue playing and have all the fun that you can. 2. Don't deal with it and stop playing, until the situation is better. 3. Do something about it. This is the reporting-part. It is the only thing we -as 'players', playtesters- can do about it, to provide reports with solid evidence to get these 'fuckers', as you so eloquently put it, banned. Note that I dont mention 'Complain about it in the forums' as an option. This is because in doing so, not only do you clutter up the ever-so-clean-and-organized forums (/sarcasm) you will only have validated the 'hackers' effort to fuck your day up. Peace. SD

    Should people stop complaining?

Admittedly, I could be. I currently fail too see how and what you mean by that. Care to explain? Also, I did intend this as a semi-humorous thing not to be taken TOO seriously. In the end this is just another really useless poll. :D

    Shoulder to cry...

Beans. Especially for 'dooty'. lol'd. :edit Forgot, beans for OP, too.

There is no problem in this game... why?

Agree 100%. The 'game' even in its current state, is an emotional experience. And that is an aspect practically non-existent in todays gaming. Anxiously waiting for the standalone with the new engine and whatnot.. Hordes of Zeds wondering randomly? Bring it. Have some beans :)

    DayZ - Beyond a joke.

I've also had 0 (zero) problems with the latest patch. It fixed exactly what rocket said it would fix. Try reinstalling, if that dont work and you think it's unplayable, there's quite a simple solution to that, which I won't even bother typing. On another note, I've currently stopped 'playing' because the tents apparently dont work, and I would need to set up camp in order to proceed with my survival. It's a bitch, but I don't freak out about it. It has been reported prolly about 9000 times, they know about it and I'm pretty sure things are being worked on. Chill. Peace. SD.
  14. ..is who the fuck drank all the whiskey? I need a damn drink. Not water, not soda, but a fucking Drink. :D

Hackers - What you need to know.

Not much here I personally didn't already know, but nonetheless a must-read for MANY people, and well written. Have beans.
  17. If this is a response to my post, please re-read the WHOLE post and do your best to actually understand what is written in it. Please.
  18. First off, I voted 'No'. I do not have a problem with having these guns in the game, nor with the damage they do. They are frickin monstrous IRL and that should be the case in the game also. (Naturally i do have a problem with the duping, but to my understanding that cant be fixed within the mod. Standalone ftw.) And as to the "why are these weapons found in a 'poor' post-Soviet country in the first place?"; The history or 'backstory' of Chernarus -which the ArmA2 (ever heard of this game? its quite good) campaign could be considered as- backs this up, since there was US forces doing some 'good' in the country. (This also explains for example, the Humvee-wrecks) And for the record, I have not been on either end of these weapons and I'll do my best to keep it that way. (off-topic; I did get shot with some other sniper rifle once in Elektro due to my desperate need of I-cant-remember-what, but I got to cover, bandaged up, stayed out of sight and hauled my beans outta there.) BUT I do think that with the mod in its current state -with the duping and whatnot-, this is ONE OF the areas that need to be improved, not just for the sake of realism, but to balance things just a bit for now. So anyhoo, here's some stuff I (and many others, I assume) think could/should be implemented and CAN be done within the mod: (Note that these affect also the general gameplay, not just this sniper-'issue') 1. Increase the audible range of the guns (the 'big guns' to say, 800-1200m as an example) - and by this I mean the range that the 'Infectees' can hear them. I know they usually arent too much trouble for most people, but a lone 'sniper' on the hills of Elektro/Cherno would probably think twice whether a shot is worth taking, if it would most likely result in a metric shit-ton of Zeds coming for your ghillie-covered arse. 2. Wind effects, self-explanatory - ofc this would obviously need the means to measure/estimate the wind speed and direction, whether it be a RARE device or the 'wet-finger' method - I'm not saying this should be to the extent of the ACE mod, but something along those lines 3. A weight/stamina-system. In short, the heavier your load, the slower you run. Or you cant run/sprint for long stretches. - this in combination with '1.' would make you think about 4 times, if a shot is worth it. Were these or at least 1-2 of them implemented, I think we might see the day that one could actually say 'I got hit by a Sniper a klick away' and think 'nice shot, man' instead of 'I got hit by a guy with a sniper rifle' and ragequit. Not that I have done that, but I know that day will come for sure, if things stay as they are. Havent played for a week or so though, but I cant stay away from the madness much longer ;) P.S. Yes, I know these features and probably even just this post will make many 'snipers' angry and you/they are welcome to go as angry as they like, but these are things that I think would make DayZ better. Period. Freedom of speech and all that.. :D Peace. SD.
