AS50/M107 used against light armored infantry?

    I would. And: wind effects + a weight/sizebased inventory + stamina
  2. Sir Diealot

    I don't normally hack...but

That's a cool story, bro. Now fuck off.
  3. Sir Diealot

    Someone tried to rape me?

Hmm, first I lol'd. A tiny bit. Then I got a little queasy. (but that could be just the beer) Then I thought; maybe, if and when we get the radios/longrange-comms in the game, the first thing we should do is set up a therapy hotline..? I imagine there'd be a whole lotta beans in that buisness.
  4. @daedrick You may be entirely correct on what you said, I am not one to comment on what's possible and what's not, from the developer/resource aspect. I mean, I have brains, I know what the 'ballpark' of it is, but I do not have the knowledge. But I believe I didn't at any point say that Rocket himself should be working on both 'titles' simultaneously and would really prefer Mr.H working mainly with the standalone and have someone else 'take over' the technical side of the mod. (I had assumed this would sort of happen, but apparently not..?) I do agree with you on that the mod needs some serious fixingups, I merely disagreed with (or misinterpreted) the part "no futher improvements will be done to this mod". Just because we haven't seen major improvement (although the artifacts are actually gone for myself) in a while doesn't IMO exclude any/all improvement in the future. Anyway, what I said, I did say with the utmost optimism, which is most of the time completely out of character for me as I'm pretty much a pessimist trying to convince people I'm a 'realist', but I guess I merely said that because I haven't been this thrilled about a game (concept) in a long time and I really want this all to just work out, both the mod and the standalone. Peace. SD.

that means you fail even in trolling.

    Nice deathmatch you got there

From what I've seen and heard (=read) I do agree that the KoS has gone way over-the-top. It's not within 'realistic' proportions anymore, which is what I'd like to see. I speculate here, but I think if a situation such as this was presented to us in the real world, the people working together (or not KoS'ing) would STRONGLY outnumber the bandits and 'the assholes'. But this is a game, unfortunately, so I i'm not sure that can ever be. Perhaps because the dumbass-percentage in gaming is a lot higher or more concentrated than in the real world, perhaps because people just don't care about the 'pixels' or just care about their KD-ratio, I don't know, I digress. And currently, this is mainly just the outcome of the duping bug and the hackers and whatnot, and I'm sure this will -to a degree- even out with all that gone. But by no means am I saying that the bandits aren't needed. The possibility of getting killed at any frickin moment is what makes this 'thing' (I won't call it a game or a mod anymore) so thrilling and separates it from the grey masses. But I think something needs to be done. I do not know what that is. Maybe if you kill enough people, your character starts to go insane, yelling random shit attracting zeds, in a frenzy starts shooting randomly in the air for no apparent reason, maybe at some point your character will just snap and blow his head off. I don't know. No one knows at this point. But all this should be determined after the things such as bugs are resolved. The current state of the mod doesn't give accurate data about human (player) behaviour. Peace. SD.

    DayZGame graphics...

Here's a small excerpt from this interview with rocket: Tim: Far from just converting the existing mod into its own client, Hall is aiming to create something altogether more impressive, unshackled from the restrictions of modding. Rocket: “We’re going to take the multiplayer code from ArmA 2, which is the most important thing, that’s the most mature element of the code, and it’s going to be a while before ArmA 3 reaches that point. So we’ll effectively be using ArmA 2.5 as a start, but DayZ will quickly go off in its own direction, with our own inventory, UI; all those things we’re completely starting fresh.” Tim: So the idea is to have something with all the familiarity and complexity of ArmA 2, but with all of ArmA 3’s graphical oomph. But more than that, once they’re able to develop completely free from ArmA 2’s assets and code, there’s all sorts that the team behind DayZ can start to implement. Hall rattles off a series of features. R: “We want to see ragdoll in the alpha. A simple ragdoll simulation.” “A completely revised inventory system.” “Some kind of underground construction.” Now, I don't know if the middle part that this guy 'Tim' says about the "graphical oomph of ArmA 3" is true or not, as rocket doesnt himself actually confirm that or deny it. But as I interpret it, they (rocket+team) can do pretty much whatever the fuck they want with the new engine, so I don't see any reason why DayZ won't be as impressive as ArmA3 -graphics-wise. At least in the future. We shall wait and see. (!) :D Peace. SD.
  8. I for one am hugely pro-underground construction, because I am (at least for the time being) a hermit. And I would love a place that's actually concealable, or mainly the entrance, obviously. I mean like under a tree, 'glue' some leaves, branches and whatnot on the 'hatch' or 'door' and whatever else. But this shouldn't require multiple people to do. Yes, it should take a shitload of time and effort for one person to do, but it should be doable. Having said all this, I also think that this (UG-construction) shouldn't be even near the top on the to-do list. There's a lot of 'little' things that need to be added rather than this. Peace. SD.

    The ApocalypseZ Announced!

While I agree with what you are saying, (except the fanboy-part, I think that term is now old enough to be deleted from the Internet) I'd like to ask, what the fuck are you doing in this thread? If you dont like ApocalypseZ, you can get the fuck out! :D Peace. SD.
  10. Just a clip from the Reddit Q&A with Rocket Q: I would like to know if the Dayz mod will continue to be updated after the new standalone is released or in the process of beta. A: Yes, the mod will be much more open than it is now - allowing more projects like Lingor and more freedom for server administrators. The game development will draw ideas off this pool and develop a more standardized experience. The way I see this, is the mod will be the testing ground for new (and maybe even community created) stuff which will then be implemented in the standalone, if deemed worthy. Of course all things probably can't be tested within the mod due to the 'new' engine of the standalone, but nonetheless, I approve of this method. (I also would like to see everything fixed, ASAP. But I've never gotten everything I wanted when I wanted it, so fuck life.) :edit: Also, 1.7.3 is just around the corner, and I'm pretty sure it'll be more than just dogs. *knocks on wood* Peace. SD.

    The ApocalypseZ Announced!

epic.. just epic.. have another can o'beans. :D
  12. Check: There's the basic stuff. If you need more, search for DayZ/RAMdisk guide. (too lazy to find it myself right now :) )
  13. Sir Diealot

I'm so pissed right now. -.-

I think it's just that the dumbass-gene is more dominant one in these guys than most people. Nonetheless, ignoring them is the next best thing to do after getting solid evidence of their actions and getting rid of them.

    The ApocalypseZ Announced!

*throws money at screen, in a sarcastic manner* ;D Beans.
  15. I voted 'yes', even though I myself do not have the artifacting-issue since the patch. (granted I've only been to Balota before/after) But since this seems to still be an issue for so many people, removing them would be the reasonable (temporary) thing to do. (dont know for a fact, but I'd assume not that hard either) They do not contribute to the immersion NEARLY enough to justify the fact that so many people cant go to the spots where they occur, especially since the bodies arent even lootable. So if the problem can't be immediately fixed for ALL people, just remove the source of the problem. Peace. SD.

    Release the standalone already

Beans for your semitroll, sir. (that's what I would call it) :D Btw, I shoved my money in my router. It's quicker cause it doesnt have to go through all the hardware. Peace. SD.
  17. I was at first, inclined not to dignify this thread with a response (no offense OP, you have a right to your opinion), but I just gotta say something. 1) In MY opinion, we should spawn at the beach with NOTHING. (well maybe 1 bandage, if anything). And 2), I don't crawl around villages for 1-2 hours. (that may come across as an insult, but I do not intend it like that.) 3. Dont think of what was, but rather what's to come. (we are still just testing stuff, not playing a game) Peace. SD.

    Respawn Removal

No offense, but if you cant 'be bothered' with running/exploring, you are playing the wrong game. Try ArmA 2, you don't have to run for your weapons there as most servers have a box in front of where you spawn with all the weapons you could hope for. :edit: And not only do you have ways to kill yourself in the game in order to respawn, you have this option: Peace. SD.

    boss suggestion

2nd post here, sorry, sue me. (1st one was 'Nope.') But yeah, I wouldnt mind seeing the occasional really tough 'infectee', for arguments sake let's say a basketball-player sized one that would just hop over fences and whatnot, and would fuck your day up extraquick were you to make close contact with one. Also what was mentioned earlier here and on other threads, I'd love for there to be wolves, bears and other kinds of animals/beasts around, be they 'normal' or infected. Naturally, I wouldn't want to actually see one in game. That said, I'm quite positive that these kinds of things will be in the game, sooner or later. Rather sooner though, duh. :)
  20. I just wanted to point out that this is pretty much what I talked about in my post (and I think what OP's talking about, too ;) ). If you care, find it on page 2 (I think.) And I'm not referring to this because of DayZ or CoD, but because of the Industry. This here is what I 'hear' the CEO or whoeverthefuckboss thought when they realized it: "Hey, look at this shit. We can charge whatever we want for our stuff and they PAY FOR IT. Yeah, Fuck yeah! Let's do more shit like this!" (/exaggerated, yes, but you get [?] my point. And by no means am I saying that it doesnt cost money to develop these games, no, no, no. But I think enough is enough. Expensive shit wrapped in nice covers is still just plain old shit. /end another rant

    Swimming, Lost all my shit..

I mean no offense here, but as to: "a great kit that i cant lose" I say, and so will a lot of others; Rule #1: Don't get attached to your gear. And as to losing your shit, in my experience, yes, it all comes out in one instance. ;)
  22. Sir Diealot

    You know what is bullshit?

Yeh, I'm just repeating what was already said: ArmA2:Free and ArmA2 are not exactly the same thing. And I don't blame anyone for not wanting to spend 10 bucks on something they feel they'll never use. I started with ArmA2:Free, I enjoyed it too much not to spend the money on A2:CO in the Steam Summer Sale. Then there was DayZ. All I can say is, holy crap what an experience for around 25 bucks. (or something like that) Chill ppl. Enjoy stuff and don't flame others for not enjoying the same stuff you enjoy. (did that make any sense?) :edit: And just for laughs(?): Bullshit= The feces of an intact (i.e., not castrated) adult male of the species Bos taurus. Peace. SD.
  23. Sir Diealot

What should the DayZ motto be?

This reminded me of: Now that the gameplay seems to be pure PvP, atleast on the surface, maybe this would do: "Survival of the Fittest, the Hunt for the Sacred Game". (a line borrowed from a brilliant 'At the Gates'-song)
  24. I for one totally agree with the OP. This is indeed not the Minecraft-model that has been so advertized. I bought 'Minceraft' at beta 1.7.3. One time payment, that's it. Loved it. Fuck paying for 'more content', especially in a project like this. I'm not saying that you are stupid or anything else like that, if YOU, dear reader, buy such content in your games. I'm just saying I am not one to do this, atleast not very easily. I think that sucks monkeyballs. And it's not about the money, it's about the principle. (Yes, some people still seem to have them.) Yes it is done in many games and a lot of people buy them, but in my view, most of the time it's just about making more money for the Co. and the users get fucked (whether they realize it or not). And I think the thing of beauty about this 'game' (and rockets ideology) has always been the sort of "fuck the rest of the industry"-kinda attitude. Or that's what it has seemed like to me. Now more to an actual point; Like the OP, I wouldn't mind paying the 'full 50-60' for the full release or the 25-30 (that he stated would be the full release price-range) for the Alpha, if it's a one-time purchase. That's it. And then get the new maps and whatever content they come up with, in that same package. Period. One Time Purchase ftw. But god forbid, if he/BIS ever decides to say absolute 'no' to modding and community content with this game.. That would be a disaster for them and for us. User created stuff extends the life (and more or less, the sales) of so many games so much, that it would be just good ol'fashion stupid. /end rant :D Peace. SD.
