    I have spawn several times (Yes I keep dying, I'm so terribad) near towns, buildings and general civilization. Spawn near nothing is just bad luck, but less likely to spawn near zombies and bandits.

    Hopefully never, I'd hate to see this game turn into a "I've survived longer and have better gear then you" competition.. Although some players I've crossed are already like that...

    I ended up respawning, lost some good gear but it fixed the problem. Nothing wrong with a fresh start right?

    Yeah, the only way to create a new character would be suicide. Which in turn would make you lose all your shit. So unless you have a friend to hold your good items or you die in a safe spot there's no point in it.

    My first encounter was actually at night, I was just randomly running not knowing how close I was to a town. Heard some zombie moaning, shit myself and hit z. Then, after about a minute I decided to risk it and throw a flare, turns out there was actually 4 zombies...and they liked seeing me. Never have I been so scared.
