Yeah I've had similar things happen. They giveth and they taketh away. It's funny when you have nothing to lose and are just messing around but when you have been playing for a while and have slowly gathered lots of items and you log into a server for a hacker just to appear next to you and kill you it's rather annoying. But it's an alpha...won't happen in the Standalone etc etc etc

People take computer games far too seriously.

Spawned not far from either Cherno or Elektro and headed to a dock. Got chased by zeds and attacked enough for my sight to go blurry and stuff but didn't bleed. Not knowing that they couldn't run on docks I just ran off the side and fell in the water. It felt like hours had passed by the time I swam to the other side. I stood shivering on the shore still hidden by the dock while zeds massed nearby as I tried to figure out the controls and whatnot. The music creeped me out(took me a while to figure out the music getting creepier didn't signify anything) I made a run for it into a nearby building where I managed to find, equip and reload an axe. I started chopping zeds left and right and figured out it was good to get them on stairs. I found some loot (random crap) and started taking it when a zed appeared behind me fast I freaked and started chopping until she was down...she?..."Paulina was killed" it said in the corner....oops. Worst thing was is after she went down she tried to crawl away back down the stairs as I hacked and hacked at her. Thinking about it after made my skin crawl a bit. I looted her body and all she had was some scrap metal and a car wheel...oops. I felt so guilty. I headed out climbed up a nearby ladder to the top of a building where I was messing with various key controls and hit 'v' and leaped to my death. My heart was still beating fast and I knew this game was for me.

I'm in the UK but I've always said "zee" because that's what Sesame St taught me (much to the annoyance of my primary school teachers). All my mates bar 2 say "Day Zed", the other two say "Days".

Hi so I know you can download custom skins (watched various videos and such) but I have the zombie skin from setting it in the arma settings and quite like it. I would like to edit that skin to maybe add a tattoo or 2 but have no idea how to find it or if that is even possible. Does anyone know? I'm at work just now so if that skin lives in the same place the custom ones go (face.jpg or whatever) then please let me know. Thanks.

I randomly went on an Arma server through the games own multiplayer before I started using DayZCommander and spawned as a bird too. Odd.

Nice one. I actually didn't mean me for the snipings btw I'm new to the game and don't usually play FPS much mainly due to the "look at me it's my life's ambition to be amazing at FPS games woooo go me" types. That and I generally suck at them. So, not into the roly poly races?

Did this on a bike last night. What I did was reconnect to the server I had the bike on and got off it. Then just disconnected and that sorted it.

This sounds interesting to me. I've been dabbling in amateur pyrotechnics of late. I have a lot of flares, chem lights etc so just need someone to DJ and I think we will be sorted. I'll trade you for some painkillers :thumbsup:

Dunno bout that. From some of the of the replies by the 'pros' that I have read I think they get a little more than smug satisfaction from sniping n00bs.

I would love it if fisting was added. Fisting the zombies would be a good starting out tactic then you could work your way up to sneaking up on snipers to give them a taste of their own medicine. Fist style. With the introduction of equines you could punch a donkey.
