    Survival (Too Easy?)

Protip: Make Hardcore hard, and leave Normal alone. I don't play for the difficulty. I play for the enjoyment of looting. So, I wouldn't know much about Hardcore. But, there is a bit too much food in normal. 25 minutes after a spawn, I had a .22 Sporter with 45 rounds (Shot a few zombies for giggles), a bag of rice, a box of cereal, "Healthy" status, and camo pants. I also had a pack. All on the coast of a 20 person server.

    How do I clear history?

When I saw the title, I thought to myself "So, he watched a bit too much porn?"

    Uses for Rope

Rope+Wood. Do you think that nails will be that common in a Russian state of emergency?

    Improvised Explosive Devices

Grenade+Vibrating, remote controlled device=IED. It seems logical we'd have improvised explosives in the case of an apocalypse.

    Uses for Rope

Srs. You could use it to lash things together such as a Spit to cook animal meats, a makeshift holster (I've made one before. It was dumb, but it worked really well.) etc. I'd love using rope to board windows up, too.

    Most Desirable Loot for Trade?

    Attachment System For Clothing

This is a brilliant idea. Why can't we have items such as knee-pads to reduce chance of a broken leg? A leg holster would be cool for the .357 Magnum. How about using the Sewing kit to sew pockets onto things? (Insert picture of Kangaroo with cargo pants here)

when you die and then complain in chat

I don't play for PVP... I play for the joys of looting.

    Uses for Rope

Tying cans of bacon to you and running around.

Why did it take them so long to make this.

I have a computer that's worse than yours and I still hit 50 FPS on Medium in Cherno. TBH, I think the game is fine so far. It's definitely better than it was at the beginning.
  11. You just have to STICK with it. You'll use your fishing rod eventually. because wooden stick. fuck

I liberated gear from a bandit then had some fun with it.

What do you have against donkies, m8? Yeah. The Texas Heartshot is a fairly uncommon, meanie mean way to shoot something. Funny as shit though. masterpun

    Texas heartshot, eh?

Idea for new way to fix broken leg

How2fix broked leg: Man the fuck up. I think it should be possible that you can hobble around. If need be, you can sprint on a broken leg for a VERY limited time, but you'll likely fail and get knocked the fuck out.

    Length of "Alpha"?

DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING AGAINST DAYZ. IT IS A SOLID GAME, IT IS FUN, AND I ENJOY IT IMMENSELY. THIS IS JUST A DISCUISSION ON THE TERM "ALPHA" AND ITS APPLICATION TO GAMING. Caps for emphasis, you silly mods. So, the whole "It's an alpha" argument has been played out like a bowl of candy at an obesity convention. I'm not saying DayZ is bad, but it's been in Alpha for quite a while. It is still fun, but I just don't get it. What exactly is the definition of "Alpha"? I always thought an Alpha game was a game in its beginning stages. DayZ has been out so long, I hardly ever call it an alpha anymore. I mostly refer to it as a "WIP game". A favorite Youtube series of mine, "Zero Punctuation" once discussed the terms of a game's Alpha condition. He stated something along the lines of "If a game is charged at full price, I will judge it at full price. Whether it is complete or not." I feel this is right. If DayZ is going to always be worth 30 bucks, it should be judged the same now as it will when it comes out of Alpha. So, what do you guys think? Why is DayZ still referred to as an "Alpha"? How is the "ALPHA!!!!!!!" argument valid? I'd like to hear your opinions. In a civil matter, of course. I want to set the record as the first post discussing DayZ's alpha condition without being locked, graveyarded, or both. EDIT- I see that people here would rather not discuss anything with any form of maturity. Oh well. At least I got a laugh at how stupidly ironic half the posts were. Mods, lock pls. I hate it when threads degrade into flame wars because of a few 'tards. I've lost faith in the forums. Can't handle a discussion, it seems. They'd rather rant, insult, and flame.

    Length of "Alpha"?

Mods must be asleep or something. I thought they hated when topics degraded into hell in a very small handbasket like what happened here. Maybe this is an illusion? Maybe life is in illusion?

    Length of "Alpha"?

Let me rephrase. Public alpha. Are your must-have-my-opinion-is-always-right genes happy now?
  18. The Aquatic Land Walrus

    Length of "Alpha"?

I hate how people assume any discussion over alpha means that they must have the full product now. As stated, I have no problem with DayZ in its current state, which most people don't seem to understand. I'm fine with waiting. I wanted to discuss the term "Alpha" and its applications to game creation.
  19. The Aquatic Land Walrus

    Length of "Alpha"?

What if I consider 5 months to be "ages" for a game with a massive cash stash? Is my opinion wrong? Should I be burned alive for it? Because, that's where this seems to be heading. People care more about smashing my opinion that posting anything constructive.
  20. The Aquatic Land Walrus

    Length of "Alpha"?

Reread OP. I'm not complaining, unlike most posts related to alpha. I have never seen a civil discussion over alpha status, and likely never will at this rate. I guess "alpha" is a trigger word?
  21. The Aquatic Land Walrus

    Length of "Alpha"?

Please reread most of the posts. Also, I see nothing wrong in posting my opinion which MUST'VE been wrong. I'm sorry that 99% of games in history don't have an alpha status that lasts this long. I must be autistic to have thought this.
  22. The Aquatic Land Walrus

    Length of "Alpha"?

This is entirely true. I wasn't concerned about the quality of the game or its relations to the alpha status. Just the application of the term "alpha"
  23. The Aquatic Land Walrus

    Length of "Alpha"?

Oh my! Someone edited a post to avoid flame posts such as these! Call the fucking military, it's time to wage war! At this point, I'd like a mod to just lock this post. Some people can't handle a discussion. I've lost faith in these forums. Overrun by assholes.
  24. The Aquatic Land Walrus

    Length of "Alpha"?

Thanks. Is there a problem with avoiding flame wars, and trying to get a mature discussion going rather than these kinds of posts? Guess some just aren't mature enough to handle it. /sigh.
  25. The Aquatic Land Walrus

    Length of "Alpha"?

100+ years? I mean from a game standpoint. I never knew there were video games back in 1914, though. I've been missing out.
