I run an i5 2500 with a gtx560ti and 16gb of ram, same problem. Its just badly optimized and the Arma engine is terrible. I just play mine on lowest settings, looks fine....i still get 30 fps in cities tho which is terrible tbh.

Gonna go around every thread, dont mean to be an utter dick but the devs seriously dont care. I have spent over a week on this forum and never seen a dev answer any questions or put up information posts about any of the major bugs, what they are currently working on and how to get around things. I am sure people have spent longer than me on these forums and seen plenty of dev posts but I have never, been on plenty of other game/mod forums that have a very small dev team and they are more active and helpful that this shitfest. Better get comfy.

You have more chance of being teleporting by joining a high pop server than an admin/dev moving you. I have spent over a week on these forums, see the same posts everyday with major bugs that are gamebreaking and there has been zero mod/dev's answering anyones questions or any sort of information on what they are working on. Best of luck but I am afraid you are fucked.

I recommend a Corsair TX Basic 320-500GB Sata harddrive £550 if you buy it from the right places. £40 for a case 19 inch 1400x900 <£70, can buy a better one later or save up Decent mouse, a logitech G500 ranges from £30 to £60 depending on where you get it from Keyboard 10-30, if you have spare cash get a G510, its an improved version of the G15 at half the cost - £69. £150 if being cheap. So £700 (1,066.63$) at its cheapest, downside is the crappy monitor. Rough prices, £5-£20 give or take on the hardware, depending where you get it from. This spec will last you a few years, it clocks well and keeps cool. But why would you want to buy a PC to play DayZ, the game is not even worth the £25 i spent to get it never mind a £700 computer. If you are not a serious gamer just stick with low crappy graphics and spend your money on a recreational sport or something, get a mountain bike if you arent a fat bastard :D.

I log into another server to find out my GPS, NV Goggles, map, toolbox, silenced m9 is gone. Despite me having green water and food, the water is blinking and my bottles are gone and I am in the middile of nowhere. Did something bad happen to all the servers?

Its the first of many. Battleye fucked up again. Also dont expect a response from forum mods or dev team, they dont really care or they would have had a sticky up explaining to use what battleye are doing to fix the problem.

Lots of nice suggestions. Infact they are fasntastic, I think that inventory system is amazing....the idea of having space there and everything taking up a certain space it means packing the bag properly adds realism cause if you dont manage your stuff it wont fit it, ever tried chucking clothes in a drawer? you realise when your wife done it the 15 tops and trousers fitted no problem :P I just hope the dev/team listens but tbh if the standalone alpha is anything like the mod alpha, as in has trouble working 50% of the time due to loading screen hangs, random items disappearing, you know those MAJOR GAMEBREAKING bugs that would take the average game/mod developer 3 days to figure out, sometimes same day it is discovered. I know the game is in alpha but I wouldnt even say when it was released that it was remotely ready for it, or maybe it was ready and lots of other code has been chucked in since then, ignoring the major gamebreaking bugs and burying them deeper.

I have owned DayZ for nearly a week now and tbh despite it being in alpha if the dev/devs cant fix major bugs like loading screen crashing and release a hotfix within 3 days the game is already lost in its own code.

I suggest you just start over, the community on here arent useful in anyway, neither is the dev/mods. I got stuck on Setup complete for 20 minutes yesterday and had to quit, logged in with nothing. Welcome to the club.

The game is just horribly optimized, I run it fine with high graphics but then when i sometimes join a server have < 10fps but if I restard the game and rejoin the same server its fine. Also good luck ever getting help from a mod or dev, they barely ever respond. The support staff are terrible and I love this game, too bad it will probably die off cause I can never see it getting anywhere if they cant fix major bugs like logging in with no gear.

....for nearly 20 minutes, I went downstairs and managed to make a sandwhich, get a drink and do a piss. Come back up and its still up, i Quit. Log into another server and all my stuff is gone. Half a dozen bandages, morphine, painkillers, m16 with 5-6 mags, m1911 with 4-5 mags, 2 canteens, hutning knife and 5 or so cooked meat and an alice backback. Is there anyway of getting this back? I dont mind losing to pvp or whatever but its kinda silly and seems more like a MAJOR bug that can make or break the game. If not meh, woulda died sooner or later.

My game has been working fine, this is the first time it has happened but now I cant join ANY server at all, if it gets past 1 loading screen it gets stuck on the next. if there was a stage before Alpha, this still wouldnt qualify for it.

Hi, My friend has Arma 2 and Arma:OA seperate, so whenever he launches the game from dayz commander he gets the missing parts message. I read the fix for this is to make sure you launch Combined Operations rather than operation arrow head. He bought both off steam.

I am getting pretty fucking pissed with people coming out with this same answer. If there is no way to fail explain black screens, game not launching, random CA files missing, stuck on character selection screen, stuck on setup complete. MY GAME works completely fine, he has installed it the EXACT same way I installed mine, I sat and watched him do so over skype screen shareing feature. Before I had the same issues and after about 3 reinstalls of the doing the same bullshit over and over it finally just felt like working. The wiki is so easy to follow it is impossible to go wrong but to bad this game just likes to not work 90% of the time. Unless you have an answer from experience dont fucking reply.

Nada, still same error messages. Everything is installed correctly. It also says he is missing Chernarus content when joining a server. The fix for this being copy Arma2/addons to commom/arma2operationarrowhead/ but then he gets an errror saying he has a bunch of files that arent accepted on the server.

Hi, Just started to play DayZ today. So far its great besides the random <1fps moments the game seems to have whenever I respawn. So far I have been messing around, learning to navigate and avoid zombie aggro, however I cant help but feel "alone" and I know for a fact a very busy server, most of them that is are basically shoot on sight. That said I think atm I have enough issues keeping zombies at bay lol. So far the longest I have lived is about an hour and a half, I was scouting a barn with binoculours that I found and it seemed all clear, I got in nice and easy and managed to get 1 more bolt for my crossbow but then as I was leaving SUDDENLY zombies everywhere. I cant help but feel if I had someone helping me, scouting from the outside as I was scavenging I might have been able to make a better exit! So is there anyone out there looking for someone to team up with? I am from Scotland and have Skype. Feel free to leave a message.

Sorry for wrong area, my ping on US servers is horrible, normally ranging 150 upwards. Not looking for a large group, was mainly looking for a duo/3 man. My mate is getting a copy soon as well so I only need someone to show me the ropes. I will be on after dinner, <1 hour, added.
