    playing alone

Playing alone works just fine. I prefer to roam with a friend, as you have more options when have 1-2 more people around. (People to watch your back, stand more chance against bandits, etc) IMO Small Group > Alone > Big Group when it comes to Day Z.

    Refill canteens and waterbottles

That's how it works though. Did it this afternoon. You drag the bottle from your inventory into your hand slot, so you actually hold the bottle. Make sure you're near the front of the well, you should now get the option to refill the bottle (one of the action menu options when you scroll).

Should it be easier to keep fed/hydrated?

But this is an issue with the fact loot doesn't respawn yet; not an issue with the actual hunger/thirst system. I think Hunger / Thirst systems are actually a lot better in SA than in the mod; you actually have to plan ahead when it comes to food and drinks, you never had to in the mod. Also like many other said you have to, stuff yourself to be able to get along for another 1-2 hours or so. The only issue I have with the food right now, is that you need to eat like 4 cans of beans to go from hungry to stuffed (water has a similar issue, but it's a bit more logical for fluids). What I would like to see, maybe when the respawns are added is for food to fill up more per usage and make it more scarce. The latter is likely not possible until you can get some respawning items going, or fresh players would starve to death looking for food.

I think the hunger and thirst are actually better then they were in the mod; where it practically played no role. I also think a lot of people have trouble adjusting from what was almost a TDM game to this more survival oriented game type. That said, I think some tweaking can be done. I think thirst is pretty well on the mark, seeing how easy it is to bring a bottle of water with you from town to town. Food needs a bit more tweaking; It's currently rather easy to rise because there is plenty of food around, but I think that it would be better to have food be slightly rarer and it restoring a little more energy. This way it will feel a lot less like you have to churn down a can of beans every 10-20 minutes and at the same time finding food will feel more like a reward, knowing that will sustain you for another few hours

    EASY FIX TO MANY PROBLEMS

You're being rather ignorant. I think most people agree with your issues, but make it seem like these kind of issues can be fixed in the blink of an eye. - Disconnect issues and everything regarding these can't be fixed because they would require a rewrite of the netcode that Bohemia uses. They didn't need this because ArmA obviously wasn't meant to be played this way at first. Sure BI could put a few hundred/thousand manhours on getting this thing done; but why waste that trouble when you can put all that effort into the standalone dayZ and ArmA3? - Graphical glitches same issue. This is a problem mostly with ArmA and not Day Z itself. To fix it, it would again require pointless manhours. - Removing the .50 cals wouldn't solve anything. They would still be available to hackers most likely. - Some of your other general suggestions don't seem thought through at all. A kill feed of who killed whom isn't that great an idea if you think it over a bit more. Combined with the disconnect notion you can have griefers and hackers that follow you from server to server to harrass you. You're spouting out random crap, because apparently you're angry, without thinking things through; that makes you ignorant and is the reason for the first few replies. The one suggestion I can readily agree on is that they remove things like static dead bodies, that currently seem to harm more than do good.
