Bad news. I logged in, died right away and then appeared in the debug forest. It seems every 3-4 logins this happens. And I keep reporting it to the server admins (this is on multiple servers), cause when this happens, it duplicates all my items. And it does it almost every time I get into the game. Good news. A relog got me back my character and items he had (but body still exists in game world with exact same items) Bad news, I was on the opposite end of the game world from where I was originally. Good news, I found an offroad truck with a dead body next to it Bad news, I got sniped (or shot with some long range weapon) Good news, I lived somehow Bad news, I got a broken leg Good news, I got the truck anyway and drove off really fast...guy who set the trap was pissed Bad news, while not bleeding (bandaged), I only had 1k blood Good news, I made it back to me and my friends camp with truck and two tents that were inside the truck Bad news, I lost almost ALL my tools (except compass, flashlight and a watch)...since when I reappeared from the debug forest, the game got rid of all my tools for some reason Good news...I made it to camp Bad news...it was pitch black and I was starving to death (lost all my food too) Bad news...I died... Good news...I respawned really close back to camp on the western side of the world Does anyone else repeatedly somehow end up in the debug forest? It seems like a recent thing. Each time I login, every 3 or 4 times...my character automatically dies on login (even if no bleeding, full blood and middle of nowhere)...I get to the debug forest...my body in the world duplicates all the items...I relog and I have (most) of my items back (actually, sometimes the items I had duplicate and I have extra) and can still loot my dead body, if I so chose. I never do, since I prefer playing fair...but who knows if someone comes by and loots it all. And what do I do with the duplicated items I keep getting? I keep dropping them for them to disappear, somewhere where no one finds them...but why does my character so bugged to do that? I never use hacks (who knows how many viruses are in those)...and the game cheats for me... On the bright side, I foiled a dudes trap (granted it was getting pretty dark)...and got an offroad truck out of it :D and two tents

It is actually rather funny. Without using cheats or anything. The game itself is a cheat for my character. I was pretty angry that the game keeps duplicating my character and his items and killing him on login. But now, its actually just funny. Never had a game cheat for me :P

While it is a shame to lose the bus, motorcycle and the items me and my friend couldn't fit in our bags. At least we can pack the tent...losing the vehicles is sad though :( Never found a bus before (seen one drive by), and never even seen a motorcycle (it was given to us)... However. I can understand. HFB have really bad feedback from everyone who uses it. Kind of sad to lose a lot of stuff, but it is alpha...and like I said, it is understandable.

For those who are having a hard time logging on. Search for DayZ Commander. It is a launcher program like Six Launcher, but A LOT better. You may need to delete the beta folder (inside your operation arrowhead directory) and install the correct beta patch to get onto the server. Six Launcher forces updates. And it didn't work with the vanilla Arma OA client for some reason, even with installing correct patch. Doing it the way above, I was able to get onto the server.

Saw in the change log for six launcher, that servers don't have dropped items while swimming anymore. Did I understand that right? Is that for every server that gets updated? Or do servers have to manually choose? Twice (once me, once my friend) glitched into water at a harbor along coast...my character literally took a flying leap into it (I was at the railroads...) and my friend game froze and he teleported into the water. So, we both lost everything. Of course, we've gotten it all back (and more)...but dropping items in water is kind of lame, with how buggy it is. And doesn't really make sense to begin with.

Me and a friend found a bus with a bunch of stuff in it. I, earlier, found a camping tent. We hide the bus and I hide the tent, far inland off the beaten track. Come back an hour later...bus is gone...tent is gone...tank trap we randomly put in the forest...gone nothing saves on that server. So, I highly recommend avoiding it, if you want to make a camp or want a vehicle.

Well, if not. Maybe the newly made camp got raided. But the only weird thing...the random tank trap was gone too. It wasn't anywhere near camp. It could have just been bad luck with the server at that time. A raid. A bug. But in any case...today is acceptance mode :P

I'll check to see if anything has come back. Six launcher updated, so I have to wait for the server to catch up. Do items come back sometimes after a reset, if they disappear? My original post was kinda made in a rage fit. I've since come with acceptance. But, if a reset made the items reappear...that would be awesome. If not, oh well. I found a boat and a new tent.

How long ago? It was only a 5 days or so ago (give or take a day) that my friend lost everything in the water. And a day later, it happened again Maybe its server related?

I think it would be solved if it was one character per account on a server of persons choosing. Like a MMO is, which is sort of what DayZ is like. If not for Arma 2, maybe the standalone version. Think about it. One char per server... no server hopping people are probably more likely to be nice, since they are "stuck" on that server. Why would someone want to be known as a hacker as a douchebag, if they have to live on that server. Some will, but it should help No going to a low pop/private/empty server, get a bunch of items and...well...I guess this goes back to server hopping. While it would still be a problem for low pop servers, it wouldn't effect other servers and if its empty, the guy is by himself anyway

Is this server related, or patch related? Is this happening to all servers or just some?

An hour or so ago, me and a friend found a bus (with stuff in it) and I found a camping tent in a city. So we ran inland, hid it really well (off the beaten track)...come on and both the bus and tent are just gone. Along with all our items. We also had a tank trap that he randomly placed. That was gone too. Rather annoying :(

So, me and a friend found a bus in Cherno. Then drove it off inland a bit. We were both wondering how we can open the vehicle inventory? We tried the scroll wheel and going around the bus pressing G...but nothing. Is there a trick to it or a certain part of the bus that you need to be at, to get into the inventory?

Thanks. :) The trick was, use scroll wheel. Get in drivers seat. Get in back seat. And then that let the gear button show up. Just getting into back seat doesn't seem to do that.

So, I've been using DayZ launcher to find servers, since there isn't a download anymore for anything else. Used to have individual files, but they removed them I guess. (edit: Except having to use a torrent program for the individual files, I will never have one of those on my pc. So, I can only use the launcher) So, yesterday I was able to play fine. Now every server I join, I either get "Wait for host"...or I also keep getting "Battleye initiation failed" Anyone else getting this? Or why do I keep getting that?

I updated to the very latest beta patch and deleted the DayZ folder (and then installed it again). That fixed my problems. Some servers that I play on, still get "Wait for host"...but it seems server related, since I can still join quite a few other servers.

No one else is having this problem?

Saw six launcher/dayz launcher had an update. Not DayZ I believe, just the launcher. Among the change log I saw an option "Servers can turn off items dropped while swimming"...or something along those lines. What servers do you guys know of (if any) have that feature off? Why do I want that off? Because its too buggy with it on. friend: "Hey! Dude! I found a boat!" Me: "Really? Awesome :D get in and hide it" friend - *gets in driver seat...falls into water? Then gets into boat* friend - *hides boat...realizes all his items are gone* friend - *goes back to harbor where boat was* friend - *sees my bag and all his items* friend - "WTF, I just lost everything...I can't reach my items from this point and if I do get the items, I fall into the water and lose the items again" *zombies glitch through the harbor and kill him* me: "wow that is...lame. Alpha is alpha" Okay so next day... Me: "I wonder if your items are gone" Friend: "Just keep going, that harbor is so glitchy" Me - *prone on the railroads, no where close to water* Me : "WTF, that is just freakin BS...even if it is alpha" Friend "What happened?" Me "I stood up on the railroads, game froze...I got teleported into the water and I just lost all my items" Friend "That's stupid" See? Items dropped while swimming is too annoying. Alpha or not, I hate that "feature".Game doesn't need that on with bugs like that. So again...if anyone read that or the beginning of the post or just skipped to the end. What server(s) have that lame feature off? No items dropped while swimming. I would love to play on a server like that, and that toggable feature was part of the change log when I updated the launcher.

Or if anyone knows what to search for. I see a lot of 3rd person off (which is great) and servers have no name tags (great) and no crosshairs (great). Don't see any that mention items dropped while swimming, however.

I found a fishing boat the other day, and was wondering...how much inventory slots does it have? I have a tent, but thinking of using the boat instead...since the tent disappears after death and is a bit buggy anyway. Also, is a fishing boat pretty rare to find? I know there are other types of boats, but it was first time I ever found a vehicle at all. Let alone a boat, and supposedly boats are pretty rare. Thanks :)

If my character dies, goes back to his tent and "saves" it. Will the tent still disappear?

That is too bad. That means boats are the worst vehicle in the game, and they are my favorite mode of transport in games AND real life. The boat in-game is a small boat, not the fishing one. I have a boat in real life, that is a bit bigger...and it can hold quite a lot of LARGE things. Only 0? That isn't realistic at all. Oh well, its alpha...so maybe they'll fix it.
