Zombies are just glitchy blocks of textures that sometimes can even force you to run into a building or through forest to get rid of them. Their only purpose is to give your location to other players, and give the location of other players to you. People who die to zombies are either very new, got fucked by lady luck REALLY badly, or plain sucks beyond any reasonable measurements. Most zombies you can just skip forever, and don't even look back. The high-traffic area zombies can not be ignored, as they make you more vulnerable to players. They are in no shape or form dangerous by themselves, though, and thusly we can safely label them as "Annoyance" When i see veteran players die to zombies on any other occurrence than being alt+tabbed or random leg break from out of nowhere, i hit my desk repeatedly using my forehead. I used to facepalm, but my hands broke from the sheer amount of failure.

Clearly a hacker, how else could you get killed while server hopping at one of the most common camp locations. It always pains me when a sincere and honest server hopping player (with an AS50 TWS) gets downed by those dirty sneaking hackers.

You can pick it up, save the tent, then drop the weapon in the ocean or move it to a full backpack. Don't forget to turn that entire area into Bear Trappia, the land of broken bones. Edit : It takes quite a few sandbag kits (23), but you can also write them a giant "Fuck You". With just 9 a double-capital "FU" is achievable.

I was farming pilot zombies with a Mk48 and a backpack full of 100 round boxes to get the NVG drop. At 732 zombies i just gave up. Forever.

The only people in DayZ who aren't bandits, are those who only met bandits, thus getting "bandit kills".

I for one really like end-game group vs group firefights. When a vehicle full of people is intercepted by a group in the forest, and rounds, limbs and bear traps start flying everywhere.

Saying stuff like that, You look like a clueless duper with a tent full of shit on every hill. NV Goggles are NOT common.

An average of 60 minutes... Earlier 40ish.. Much earlier 20 something.. People must've been getting slaughtered by zombies over and over to make the average that abyssmal.

Hi, my name not important, i'm far too old, and my hobbies that aren't games are rated "M" for "Make sure they don't see the light of day". I've been playing DayZ for two weeks now. I'm not the best of shots, and i'm not one with the fastest reflexes. I know this, and i play in a way that doesn't require me to be either one. When i see someone enter the barracks at NWAF, i toss a grenade instead of following them, and even if i do, it's with SD clip on full auto. I don't play the sniper in deep fog. My main form of movement in the cities are barrel rolls, and my inventory has wires, sand bags and tank traps. I have never entered NWAF from the south, or east and I don't know what the layout of Cherno is... ..Or at least i didn't. Last night i was playing on everything-except third person-disabled server, and tried getting my hands on a ghilie suit, that would compliment my NVG and LA85. I've approached the city from the north-west, just as it started raining, with my goal being the apartments. Annoyed and concerned about the fact that there were so many players online, i've used tank traps to block the roof access to the hospital - there was no box behind it - and started exploring the apartments, starting with the short one to the south. The number of zeds alive was increasing all the time, but i didn't hear any shots so i've cleared two buildings.. three.. and just as i was slowly descending the stairs in the large appartment in the middle, it all started.. Someone broke the hospital glass with a shotgun, I was mid-stairway when that happened, and only approached the balcony after a lightning has struck. Some random Survivor McNoSidearm has crawled inside, leaving a blob of zombies in front of the building. A minute later, he stormed out towards my direction, and was put down with SD rounds - pointless to use them? Nope! No zombies on my ass! - and i started descending on double speed, to hit the last ap. before i get less lucky. The zombies still idle, munching on the corpse of Survivor McCoyotePack. As i cleared the last building, and was almost out of the 'woods', on the last half-stairway, my NVG started acting up. Backtrack, turn it off, take a peek... a chemlight was lying right in the middle of the doorway. I didn't even hear the bastard, so with heart rate of 160 i backtrack half-a-stair and wait. I made a mistake of trying to ascend a whole level, when he started firing and forcing me back down. "Checkmate" i think to myself. Wrong. The bloody zombies didn't even budge, despite his MX being loud as fuck.. And so i know how the other player feels, when exposed to SD rounds from a regular gon. I'm cornered, unable to go up or down, but he also is unable to get to me. I go as far down as possible, and place my bear trap, and just as it's down i hear a hissing noise of road flares being thrown in to completely rape my vision. Somehow i manage to hit N just before the flare flies inside, and book it upstairs with all speed. One flight, two.. and then his leg breaks, declaring me the winner by sidestep full automatic fire, I flee the place as soon as i can. I now have my ghilie suit, but whoever you were, you can have my beans. No, fuck the beans. You can have my firstborn, once he's there. Yours : Cautious stranger in Cherno.

I didn't want to make it a wall of text thread, but at the same time a "tl;dr" one wouldn't give justice to mister flare throwing badass. :D

There are a few servers that just lag, no matter what you do, nor how many people are there, NOR your ping. It was bothering me for a while, but since i've found no answers, i just avoid these.

Pressing "W" while doing a barrel roll will make you finish it much faster. Flares and flashlights blind NVG users, but don't count on blinding all those snipers above electro with them. The sound of thunder comes a good two seconds after the lightning, much like in real life. It may help conceal a step or two if you're playing hide and seek inside cities.

There are no legit RP servers. Everyone kills each other on sight.

I find the PDW a better choice than the G17, due to the full auto panic button, and two types of SD fitting it. Also 30 round clips make more room for M203's and bandages. In the end it all comes down to the iron sights, though. One thing i'd like to add is to have SD ammo for the M4 / LA85 / Anything that uses STANAG. I was tailing a group to NWAF, and their return fire was what made them unable to hide (zombies running to them, but not me, even though we both "sound" the same). SD ammo is an insane advantage in some locations.
