Players in Asia or Asia Pacific?
BerkshireHunt replied to BerkshireHunt's topic in General Discussion
Usually on during the weekend or afternoons and evenings...not worried about English skills...that can be improved through playing. Can't believe the player cap is at 30 on the Asia-Pacific servers....this map is too huge for so few people...I've been playing for a week and I've only seen one person. Always daylight, but a little boring so far. You guys use any Teamspeak channels for this game? It's hard to meet up with anyone else playing this game...not many people wanna play something that's just in alpha. -
It would be cool to team up sometimes. PM if you wanna squad up.

Maybe in addition to white-listing players.....we should be white-listing (and black-listing) servers as well, since so many are being hosted by the same idiots that have been scripting and DDDOS-ing the game since it began. Servers that actually enforce their rules regarding combat-logging would make my white-list...if it's Eve possible to verify and enforce that kind of thing (it often isn't).

Donating is ruining this game faster than the hackers
BerkshireHunt posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Any thoughts on this? People have been commenting on this since it started. Between the over-powered load-outs and favoritism showed towards donors, this game is being robbed of the fun and entertainment it used to offer. Not only that, but since people found that they could actually make money hosting a server, the DDOS attacks on profitable popular servers has become sort of a regular thing. In the last two weeks I've drifted from one Overwatch server to another because the hacking and DDOS attacks from rival servers has made the game almost unplayable. I think people need to be A LOT more cautious about who they're giving their parent's money to...you're only supporting a system of admins who now have a financial incentive to do all the stuff they used to do just for fun (tolerating hacking by friends, scripting, ignoring their friend's combat-logging, ect). The younger players and dumb-asses less savvy people donating often forget that because they're donating money rather than a paying customer, they've more or less given up their rights to expect anything in return for their money. YOU'RE NOT A PAYING CUSTOMER....YOU'RE A DONOR. HUGE DIFFERENCE. YOU HAVE NO RIGHTS AS A CONSUMER. You wouldn't give money to a complete stranger, nor would you "donate" money on good faith to someone you've only recently met...if you're going to donate, put the server on probation and wait and see how the admins handle their jobs before you decide to reward them for it. Expecting to get nuked by corrupt admins (of servers, not this site...unless of course they're the same people) and their friends...let's see.- 27 replies

ATF Panthera Server - Admin Abuse and Privacy Violation
BerkshireHunt replied to dutch_miller's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Speak with your feet. These days it seems like a lot of servers have some suspect shit going on. I don't go to this server any more for reasons related to the above complaints and more. Any site that needs to state, with Global Admin that "accusations of hacking by admins or other players" constitutes disrespect or that "whining" isn't allowed isn't just a jab at paranoid noobies crying whenever they get smoked...it means they actively and regularly engage in behavior that will eventually discourage people from frequenting their server and they get called out for it so often they need to make a server rule to stem the tide of complaints about it. Griping about a server where admins are doing suspect stuff is going to get you nowhere, because they (and all the friends that benefit from whatever they're doing on their server) will flood the thread with counter-attacks and recriminations. Noobs have to ask more questions about how to tell hacking from one of the games/mods many bugs, glitches, and the rainbow of problems that come after de-sync. After that, if something still smells fishy, find another server. -

dayz players are racist
BerkshireHunt replied to synnyster tick's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I thought this was going to be about all the damn racist userID's with "nigger" in them. -
Screw the vehicle hoarders. Props.

If you have a crap IP...you're gonna have a bad time. Don't blame the game. I live in Korea, which is pretty much lost in the asscrack of the world and I still get decent pings in the morning and night. Another guy I used to play with discovered that his IP was infamous among gamers for having the worst pings for pretty every game in existence...but people who went with the other company played the game with little or no problem.

Basically, if you're not a member of my group...you're getting harvested. I assume everyone thinks the same. Are there any people left who don't just shoot others on sight? I shot a guy a day or two ago because he was looting something next to my teammate and probably would have shot him after he got geared up. My guy's a noob...but I don't let my group get shot at if I can help it.

The soldier zombies already have the advantage of having a helmet, which makes getting a headshot a bit harder. Helmets would actually be decent loot, especially if they could be equipped.

Sounds like hackers. They'll get over it.

Looking for players in Seoul, South Korea
BerkshireHunt replied to calzonius the friendly's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Apparently Skype might be worth a try. I've already got an account and will try it out tonight for group play, conference is possible so it should be okay. Check it out. -
Sorry if this has already been answered, if so...please refer me to the existing thread for this subject. Didn't have time to check the wole site first...did do a search. I've been playing with one other person and we've been using Steam voice chat...but now there's two or three others that are joining our group...so we need a better way to do this. I know many people use Skype...but I wanted to know what others use and why. Thanks.
