you should ask bis for that. not rocket. there is eye adaptation in arma but it's not flawless. i guess you clearly can't see a difference between addon, or as you call it "mod", and the base game. I actually do know the difference considering I got into the industry through modding :) I also actually modified the eye adaptation of one game in a mod (shocked?), alot of engines these days allow you to tweak variables related to the HDR and its adaptation (if i was to work for a company who's engine didnt i'd probably be asking for it within a few days). Never worked with the arma 2 engine so I guess it may not be possible/as easy with this engine like you suggest. no need to try brush off my suggestions by insulting my intelligence next time ;). -

Going to repost what i said in another thread on this subject: I know rocket is making this mod as an experiment or anti-game so its unlikly this will be changed, however as someone who works in the industry in lighting, it'd be nice to be able to see realistically like you can at night (unless i have an owls eyes or something IRL) -
about a week for me, then got ambushed by someone. still in my dying moments I took them out with me so they didnt get the loot... would have been more impressive if i had dropped my grenade at both of our feet and gone that way. now i tend to be in suicide mode and literally run everywhere like a noob, surprisingly i've stayed alive and i've come across really good loot in the process since i can nip around to interiors, removing my stalkers and then going to the next interior. I also like the fact im not scared when someone else trys to shoot me, I just shoot my loudest weapon into the air a few times then play fetch with the person who shot at me :) :P

not that funny or as good as some of these i've read, was looting at the southern airfield, had recently shot my friend in the face with my winchester accidentally mistaking him for a random player (he over took me as we crossed a field and i didnt realise), had no medical supplies and he was constantly passing out whilst we were searching. I went into a room on my own and found some ammo, turned around to find someone looking at me. immediate reaction was to ask my friend if it was him via TS. "no its not me, im passed out in the hangar at the moment, thanks" came the reply It was actually another player who had seen us moving around (had to keep waiting for my friend to wake up in the middle of fields). "are you friendly? I need some help" He asks "sure im friendly" I lie, then immediately open up with a few rounds to his face... kinda feel bad, but at the same time walking/sneaking up to someone with a bandit skin and asking if they are friendly is not that wise. didnt even have enough slots in my inv to take any of his stuff, still my friend got some ammo out of it when he woke up. -

yea im expecting to die any time now on the coast, everytime i've gone inland next time i log in my location has reset to the coast and all my travels for nothing :( still 5 days alive in cherno is an achievement im proud of. admittedly I have had some fun at nights picking off people, but i want to explore the east coast and will do so once i figure out the new stuff in the patch (most importantly how easy it is to move during nights now without dying) -

I didnt mind the amount of zombies, but i guess less makes it easier to loot at night, apart from them now being attracted to flares... cue me now going onto a hill and watching the people who run with flares in their hands being swarmed, :D ah beautiful popcorn moments. saying that i wouldnt have minded having more but slower zombies in large towns, as is most people just head indoors and cap them as they stroll in, as long as you have enough ammo your good ;) still great update, interested in seeing how the temp stuff works out

imho, I've tried the gamma, brightness and hdr thing, it helps but at the same time makes the game look nasty and as someone who works with lighting I dont think i'll be using it again unless i absolutely have too (ie no flares or torch etc). I also come from the middle of nowhere in the countryside and agree with the others, night times arent really this dark since your eyes adapt to darkness. I know there is eye adaptation in the game so if it were possible to fiddle with the settings to allow it so after a while in the dark the hdr adapts allowing you to see more. at the same time this would also mean if you carry a flare you will have to adapt all over again once it goes out, adding a new dynamic to the game as people who havent been using flares will have a slight advantage over you for a short time. then again someone using a torch could easily also blind/disorientate someone whos adapted to darkness. more info for those who are unaware of what eye adaptation is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adaptation_%28eye%29 this is why in ideal conditions you are able to see a candle from about 3 and a half miles away.

hmmm potentially, if thats the case then :( however it does mean i dont have to now watch the skies as well as ground, although I probably will for the next few days! makes sense too as i dont see how something like that could fit in the mod other than to occasionally scare the hell out of people -

*sigh* does this explain the leaf sight ? and my sniper rifle like i said problem? now can we get back to the fact there was a rocket barrage? (and i mean 3 sets of 4-5 rockets in different areas of the town in the space of ~1min) -
