  1. Hello everyone, I'm looking for someone to join up on my server to play Origins with. I already run with a pretty decent sized group but they're based rather far from me so we don't get to play together terribly often. I need an experienced partner who plays in the evenings, preferably EST. Must be willing to come to my server. You must be: -An experienced Origins Player -Willing to speak on voice chat, preferably Teamspeak. -18 or older -Fluent English speaker -Active, playing most days of the week. -Able to fill multiple roles, including PvP and PvE functions. -Willing to pull your own weight in the group. -Able to have fun and joke around while still playing in a serious fashion. Not looking for: -CoD Kiddies -People new to either DayZ or Origins -People looking for handouts -Rage Quitters -Immature children If you think you fit this description, contact me at KhursedLoL on Skype or shoot me a message here. I usually play around 2 PM - 10PM during weekdays. If you don't play in those times, please do not contact me as we will most likely be unable to play together. I look forward to hearing from you.

    Looking for Active Origins Partner

None of the posts have met my requirements, perhaps you should read what I've written instead of blindly posting your clan's information. It specifically states that I'm looking for a PARTNER, not a clan. Additionally, I said 18+, you've stated that your clan is as young as 16. Perhaps the most important part of the post is that you must be willing to join my server, and I highly doubt that your entire clan plans on migrating.
  3. Just as the title says, I'm looking for people to play Origins with, I've been playing it for a few weeks now so I'm still getting everything down pat but I've been playing Day Z for far over a year so I have experience in that regard. You can add me on skype at KhursedLoL, shoot me a message here, or just post in the thread and we can meet up. Willing to come to your server. Voice chat a must. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Dayz Origins Looking for 1-2 players

Hey man, looking for the same thing as you are, would be happy to group up with you guys. Also been playing Day Z over a year, Origins a few weeks. I sent you an add on skype, looking forward to hearing from you.
  5. Hello all, I played Day Z pretty vigorously back in August and I'm trying to get back into it again. I have experience running in groups, and have had a great deal of fun doing so. My only stipulations are that you must be 18 years of age, and preferably somewhere near EST. You can add me on Skype @ KhursedLoL or reply to this thread. I look forward to meeting some of you.

    Humanity and Groups

    1. This gives players who operate in groups a distinct mechanical advantage over those who choose to play solo. Allowing you to quite apparently see your allies takes away from the realism of the game unnecessarily. One of the largest components of a firefight is trying to remember who is on your team and who isn't, hence why friiendly fire is in the game. 2. It's still an advantage for those with positive humanity. How could bandits just join without anyone knowing? They have giant turbans on their head. 3. The dissuading portion of the group function you've described is the reduction of humanity gain, which is already pretty minimal.
  7. Hey, I'm interested in playing with you. There's 2 Seth Rydbergs on Skype. Which one are you?

    NPC protected safe/trading zones

I don't think you understand the purpose of a player-driven sandbox.

    Artillery Strikes

It makes literally no sense that a group of disheveled civilians would have sense to an artillery strike. Please go back to call of duty :).

    Humanity and Groups

    1. People looking exactly the same is explained by the limitations of the game as a mod. It's not nearly as bad as placing a neon green sign above someone's head. 2. Either way, it doesn't address the unfair aspect of the humanity advantage. 3. While this is true, it would be yet another unnecessary idea that would dissuade people from cooperating, which is certainly not something this game needs.

    Humanity and Groups

    1. That is a realism destroyer, Rocket frequently states that he supports mostly realistic functions in the game. Perhaps this would be acceptable on a nametags server, but not otherwise. 2. People may have grouped up before the outbreak, but typically in an outbreak groups are quickly destroyed through dissension or by simply being larger targets. Again, this unnecessarily rewards "good" behavior, which is unfair. 3. You're implying that everyone you're in a group with is your friend. In an apocalyptic situation, you don't have the luxury of grouping with your friends. You join who you can to survive. You might hate that guy who needs the blood transfusion. You simply don't know.
  12. Yes, once all of the dupe glitches and what not get fixed.

    Humanity and Groups

    1. Yes, but it shouldn't be something automatic. If you're a group, you should have to farm the necessary materials to modify your outfit. 2. Absolutely not, it ruins all concept of the "lonely survivor starting with nothing." If you could spawn with your group, the game would devolve into a CoD party system of groups just running around with hatchets and taking down lone survivors. 3. I dont see how helping someone inside of your group reduces the humanity of it. Imagine this: You're strapped for supplies, low on ammo, and hungry. Your teammate falls down a flight of stairs and breaks his leg. You and your other 3 group members excluding the injured one have only one morphine shot between you. Bestowing it upon your friend is a difficult decision, you might need it yourself later, right? But you help him anyway. Does that not take a certain degree of humanity? 4. Again, no. There should be no reward or disadvantage for your playstyle of choice. I'm personally entirely against the hero and bandit skins, but that's a whole other story.

    PvE DayZ servers petition.

A PvE server literally annihilates the entire purpose of Day Z. It's a zombie survival simulation. Not a human vs zombies game (i.e. CoD Nazi Zombies). There's a difference. People fail to consider many of the aspects that would come along with a zombie apocalypse. Everyone would be on edge, tense, and spiteful. The PvP aspect reflects an unavoidable part of the human psyche. People would undoubtedly be killing each other for supplies, guns, food, etc. Removing this part of the game effectively ruins one of the most interesting parts of the game. Every great story I have from Day Z was about a dangerous firefight, a tense negotiation, or another player who I'd opened fire upon unexpectedly saving my life. I don't understand why anyone would want to remove this from the game. I doubt Rocket will ever allow it either.

    Block Off Private Servers*

I agree, it could be done in a similar fashion to the non-hive servers. It's pretty lame that people can farm loot with no risk at all.
  16. I totally agree, every time I see the tracks I think that there should be a way to get either trains or handcars going. Though it would be fairly unreliable as players would likely leave them in the middle of the track, screwing up everyone.

    Suicide function

The suicide / respawn option was already removed. What purpose would it serve if you already had a weapon? Why else would you use it other than to respawn at a different area on the coast?

    Found a rifle

You can't be banned for it on a global level unless you spawn it yourself, however any given server admin can ban you for using illegal weapons.
