Odin on TS was an absolute savior! Not only did he help fix me up from a broken leg....he helped me gather up some much needed necessities! True hero in my book just doing what he does! So Im doing pretty good, but I went to climb a guard tower (maybe a 5ft climb?) and for some reason the character fell off the side as he went up, and broke a leg. I have plenty of food/drink to sustain myself, but I cant do anything because I have no stims to fix my broken leg. Do these heal over time or am I screwed without a stim/morphine? thanks guys! shoot me a msg and Ill tell you where I'm at...until then Im stuck here doing NOTHING...yay survival!

We were in the dock yard and came across each other. you were in-game chatting that you were friendly and i chatted back. Then we got shot at a few times and ended up in another small town, where you were laying down to regain your blood lost and got separated (and it got to be night time). Cant remember your name but you were waiting for your Clan mates (apparently its your clan server). I know a lot of ppl were getting shot right there and I ended up hiding in a house for a while. Then got taken out by a sniper eventually in another part of town (bastard..but good shot!) If youre interested in playing again I was def friendly and am also looking to work on my 'hero' status and trying not to kill other players. You were the one who also showed me a trick or two with inventory..... anyways if not maybe Ill run into you again! in-game 'Ender'.

Does anyone know why for some reason the Makarov takes a bazillion hits to kill a single zed? its funny because i can kill with an axe/hatchet in 1-2 hits usually even without a headshot. But last night I unloaded THREE full clips into a zed, hitting the head at least 3 or 4 times, then the body, and it barely went down. Then of course it alerted 2 others and i was out of ammo with NO weapon at this point. I second the axe/hatchet as my fav weapon. Its clean, easy to use, and most of all very quiet and doesnt 'run out' of ammo. though I think reloading a hatchet and seeing it 'shoot' is actually kind of amusing and very 'realistic'....lol btw the 1886 is a great weapon too for how simple it is..rather quiet for a shotty...and usually a 1 shot kill even to the body.

So it doesnt matter if i choose a night or day map, its night time on any of them. Something going on right now that I dont know about? Doesnt matter if its AM or PM on the server time... I am CST (Texas) btw.

Since they have far more server owners willing to host, i think the best suggestion I read on page 1 was the solution. Apply to be a host for DayZ. If they agree to the terms in regards to kicking, only allowing reserved slots for admins (which is a given as to the necessity), and any other set terms by the game owners, then by all means host. If they dont agree, tell them to feel free to host a game that doesnt like treating players fairly. If I am playing with low ping and doing just fine, minding my own business, and all of a sudden i get a message 'kicked from the server by admin' on a 50 player server with only 17 people on it, thats abuse. Its happened to me before and I only played for one day. Its obvious why an admin needs a reserved slot. hackers (or preferred term 'cheaters' because hackers have skill, cheaters dont). If someone is cheating (again, easily been a victim already in one day of playing), an admin needs to be able to assure he'll (or she'll) get in to quickly handle the situation on a full server. If an admin has to wait to get on the server because its full then that defeats the purpose of an admin at all. Also, kicking for high pings is obvious as to why its legit. ive seen people on a couple hundred ping when the server is clearly set for lower pings. If you dont like it and have poor connection, play elsewhere. Some servers and players dont want to play with glitchy players that slow down the server. I think Rocket and his team are very fair and its been said many times but cannot be stressed enough, it IS a priviledge to host a new found hit such as DayZ. Everyone wants to find a good server to play on. Both server admins and DayZ want to come together to provide the best possible environment. But to host a server JUST so you can play with 5 of your buddies when the rest of the WORLD wants to play with a LIMITED amount of people being able to host at this time, you cant reserve an entire server or heavy numbers of slots. They dont need to spend time defending that decision while they have 1001 differen things to work on and want to enhance the game play experience and are busy with the stand alone and new updates for the mod. I love it. its a bad ass game and I was sold when my friendly merely TOLD me about the game. To find a good solid server to play on (US) will be my goal. Heavy on anti-cheat and quality admins.

thats pretty funny..but the fact that you got int a car with a stranger, then a second pulled up, and then they stopped in the middle of a field..is like asking to be raped/murdered (perhaps you like that?). however, I am jealous. I have yet to see a moving vehicle myself or anything cool. IF i were ever to actually cheat in anything I play i would be pretty cool about it and help people for fun.

i need a team...scavenging for a weapon or something to eat or hell even just a damn bandage is crap when people are running around with anything they need! lol smasht_AU: did you guys build that entrance with sand bags, and the anti-vehicle barriers? how do you build stuff like that, just scrap metal and a tool box? this game has so much more that I have even begun to be exposed to... another question, are vehicles and barriers and stuff taken away after a while or do you keep it and new ones are respawned after a server reset? also, if you destroy a building, is it only down until the server reset?

that was my next Q. Because as far as the cheat system goes, I though modifying a file of any kind would be a client side modification which is unauthorized. I dont know what they scan for though. But I have heard you can get camo in game, do you have to kill a zombie-military AI player or do you just find these on military installations?

to veteren players. i was TOLD by players in the forums that I couldnt, and I just installed/played for the first time on Monday.

haha..I had contemplated messing with people and using one of the two zombie skins lol...would be funny if you could make a zombie think you were a zombie with that skin lol. Now that gives me an idea for an option for DayZ...what if you could use a 'zombie suit' that makes the ingame AI think you're one of them? You could sneak around and collect things as long as you didnt run or anything and not get caught. Of course, you risk a player capping you thinking you were a zombie lol.

So I survived hours sneaking by dozens of Zed's and searching dozens of buildings....NOTHING to be found. Maybe a few ammo shells here and there, but not a single weapon. I even come across a few Axes that are in a block of wood (permanently), wtf cant i take that? The only weapons Ive been able to find myself so far are off dead bodies i stumble across. And I dont find canteens or places to fill them up by the time my water is blinking red. I get it...its not supposed to be easy..i wouldnt want it to be...but not a single useful find in a few hours of running around multiple villages? where are you guys finding these weapons?

btw...I have had the opposite experience with bandits/bastards. I was welcomed to the game my very first day within minutes by a guy with an axe, and an alterior motive. He was trying to get me to the pier where its 'safe' as Zeds dont go there (which Ive found this to be true!). He initially was trying to help, but lost patience as I couldnt figure out how to talk back or do much, so he started hacking me up. Where I then began to crawl in and out of unconsciouness before finally realizing i can just LET a zombie eat me and it would be over with. A...a fresh start! The next time was me running into a military installation, and i see two (non bandit characters) running out, fast. Low and behold behind them, a few Zeds that noticed me now instead. I run in their direction thinking ' they have guns, maybe they'll shoot the Zeds behind me and save my ass, and Ill thank them and offer what little supplies i have for a payment'. Nope. they shot at me while i was chased, and went down like a sock full of rocks. so not exactly a friendly experience for me thus far. I want to join a team/group where people work together. I got to expierence that once so far, but he died of a wound after about 15minutes of looting at night together. Was odd..he just...died. I mourned...cried a little..then I looted him, and went on my merry way!.

Very nice, Im on Day 3 of your little adventure! I thought about doing the diary thing too, is that basically what this is? Oh, and Day 2.4, I had the same 'hacker' attack on me. After hours of successful looting, weapons collecting, and a high amount of acheivement running through my veins, I get hoisted into the air (keep in mind im in the middle of a field not a player or zed around for km's) and then thrown to the ground next to other players while Zed's by the numbers all come in at all side, i die before i can even react. Was either an admin abusing his rights or a hack...either way..I was not as amused as the alleged 'funny man' was, im sure. You have definitely inspired me to start tracking my days...some interesting things when you write it down and read it back!

wow a lot of great responses! Thanks guys! I will check out those links and be more patient, and hit up the larger cities. I actually am not that frustrated so much that Im not finding them, its when I do I dont keep them because of other players or servers. I have yet to die by Zombie, and Ive died about 5 or 6 times since yesterday upon installation. A few players have shot me since we dont have a very good system of chat in world unless they're already on top of you, or voice which not everyone on every server has. Or, I lose weapons because of a hacker or admin abusing powers. Ive been a victim of both in back to back rounds. So the frustration really comes from doing all that work, and the game isnt even the reason you LOSE everything you've gained. Its the things outside the game that arent supposed to even happen. But Ill keep pressing..as each time is practice! Its just annoying because without a weapon you are 100% defenseless, which is silly you cant punch/kick to at least defend. To not start with anything is just silly. Silly I tell you! Ill check out those links for the maps/item locations and hopefully be able to get around the bigger cities and buildings weaponless!

I was doing great, hours of travel and getting good loot and im running across a field in the middle of no where (night time), and all of a sudden i end up in the air, dropped into a field right in the middle of a dozen zombies. And i see about 8 other people dropped in and died instantly. wtf is wrong with people. supposed to have fun with this stuff, not destroy someone's hours of work because you got a god damn power trip. I was unable to figure out which server it was because it wasnt highlighted when i left. is there a slight possibility that was a glitch? all players in the area just picked up, dropped in a single location with a ton of Zombies and they all die?

i just got hit by one too...as prob did a bunch of other players all at once. i was doing well, same character all night, running across a field at night without a sole around, i end up 2 seconds later in the air, dropped into a field of zombies and other players all dying at the same time. like the 'hand of god' just picked everyone up, dropped us all in a single spot with zombies waiting to feast. died before even getting to see what was going on. some people just deserve to die a slow death. they're not even really HACKING. they're copying/pasting config files and pasting scripts they got from others. CHEATING is the proper word...dont give them credit for something anyone can do.

are there any well known 'clean' servers? that are actually stable? that have admins who actually enjoy the game? they should have a 'server rating' so you can basically give it 1 to 5 stars based on the servers performance, hacks, admin abuse, crashing a lot, 1. vise versa.

yeah i just realized this prob should be in the cheaters thread...but i was so furious i just posted first before thinking lol... this is my first night playing..im hooked...but ill easily give up this game if its going to be this crappy on a regular basis. i dont care about pvp or player killers, its a matter of survival. but when you ALSO have to battle jackass admins or hackers, its not worth it. just cant get my $30 back for Arma either...so that sucks. i swear some people wouldnt be allowed to breed if it were up to me...

definitely interested...just started playing but Im a lone wolf right now and Ive quickly found teamwork is essential! Already been mowed down by friendlies twice because i was unarmed and apparently still a threat lol. def over 18, Texas area (CST), and just want a stable server to play on. Ingame name is 'Derek'. stable servers and consistent patches that WORK. I just installed yesterday, started playing last night/right now, have a fast computer and network connection and im constantly getting d/c'd. Its annoying. Great game...but the connectivity issues and new players starting out without any weapons is weak. They should at least give new players a crow bar or axe...no one starts an apocalypse empty handed..come on. lol
