Well I can definitely say that the GFX card and RAM is enough but I don't know anything about AMD processors :s. You'll need somebody else to help you there.
-
@TehProKi: Your graphics card is perfectly fine to run DayZ on high graphics, your RAM is perfectly fine too. What you really need to upgrade is your CPU! I'd recommend an Intel I5-3330 but it does cost about 135-140£. You might be on a tight budget but buying a better CPU will really make huge difference. Unless you want to play PS4-specific games why don't you consider fully switching to PC-gaming? You could always buy the PS4 a year or so later when it'll be much cheaper. EDIT: What you can do if you're on a tight budget is buy 4Gb RAM. You don't need more to decently run DayZ (unless you have a 4k monitor...). And RAM is the easiest component to upgrade. What I did 3 years ago is buy 4GB of RAM, and 6months ago I just added 4 other gigs of RAM.

Great! Obviously will be cheering for BabyKnight and Antab (got to show the love for StarCraft 2 players) :D -
Today's my birthday and a dev blog would a great gift. :D

I can't believe people don't at least watch/read some reviews before buying games..
-
Rocket should start realizing that refusing to give at least some info because of fear of reactions from places such as reddit and twitter is probably not the smartest of ideas. Reddit and twitter should not be considered as a important feedback place. Too much retards that are too loud. He could get good feedback by simply allowing more people to play the closed alpha (or start ignoring the trolls, which he still doesn't do). And his statement about focusing his time on game development and not writing a dev blog or some twitter comment.. wtf? So spending 15min writing a little text that would please a good chunk of the community is suddenly the end of time and will delay the game by weeks? No.. it will delay the game by 15 minutes. And as I stated above he could simply ignore the comments coming from trolls or ignorant people. A badly written statement from rocket might cause some people to lose interest but if the final product will be good that won't matter.

I can imagine this has given great rest to the forum mods from all the whining :D EDIT: And wouldn't it have been so awesome would there have been a surprise dev blog waiting for us?

I remember Matt saying a short while ago that even if they got into office today and said: "let's release it!" They couldn't do it right now because of a lot to do on the commercial and logistical side of things. -

Dat bashing on jackfrags lol. As stated above the high powered military rifles are most definitely an authentic option given conditions like very sparse ammo/malfunctions. Only bad thing he asked about was the squad spawn, but at that time jackfrags probably didn't know yet about all the clothing customization and body movements to be able to identify friends :) -

The idea of zombies running at normal speed would only work if there would be endurance and fitness in this game. Right now you can run indefinitely and thus the zombies could never catch you. If however you would get tired after a while I'd really like to have normal-fast zombies. -

I did not meant full release. What I meant was a version of that game that is enjoyable by the majority of the people. Not a specific moment(alpha/beta/full) but just at some point where most of the major bugs will have been resolved, vehicles have been incorporated and other improvements making the game worthwhile for lots of ppl. -

Guys Dean has talked about this before, and him saying "in a few months" I don't think was meant for the alpha but for the real release. He stated multiple times he doesn't wish for lots of ppl playing the alpha will not cater to lots of people. That's exactly why he said "in a few months", targeting the general audience.. imo -
I was lucky enough to interview Dean yesterday at E3 for almost 20 minutes

Rocket presents the game better than Matt does imo. -

No it officially starts tomorrow the 11th, but Sony, Microsoft and some other companies are having press conferences the day before E3 begins usually. Source: http://www.ign.com/wikis/e3/E3_2013_Press_Conferences -

Obviously a small dev team cannot focus on improving graphics which, as rocket said, can take a very long time to do. If the functionality is pleasing than that's perfect for now! DayZ is a great game that hopefully will carry a legacy so that bigger developers can make great similar games in the future. -
Not sure if trolling or serious.. If serious, you obviously haven't heard of this concept called "Video Game".

DayZ Double Developer Blog 14th May 2013
alphamat replied to mattlightfoot's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
That would actually be very helpful yes! The performance is certainly different than before so some info would always prove helpful for some people. However, Rocket did say the performance should be around the same as in Dayz(optimization coupled with better engine).. but that was a few months ago. -

Given a nice UI, reading books in DayZ would be an amaaazing addition! However, I understand you Katana. Having player houses/underground bases would be a good place for those books instead of being an prey in the open ground. -
Hah, I can already imagine the madmen running around covered in blood shouting "Friendly in Cherno!!" :D
-
The blood seems like an interesting and more subtle idea, but it's not really authentic is it? I mean if you just shot somebody in the head, taking his gear doesn't neccesary mean you got blood all over yourself. It would be amazing if you'd be able to implement a system that puts blood on people's clothes when they killed people with melee weapons. People will say this is unbalanced as people using guns don't get affected by that, but I don't think this game is about balance/nerfing.. This means that people using guns wouldn't be able to be spotted as bandits, but I think that's a good thing! There'd be more stress and tension in player encounters as they wouldn't know if the person they're facing is a good or bad guy.
