Does this mean that my hero skin will be gone? I can't go back to the normal shitty skin after playing with this for a while. I love that fuckin thing :'(

crashed huey in balota. huge fire wall into the sky. not sure who it is but right before this i got killed by an as50/m107 he def had nvgs to be able to see me in the darkness. hopefully someone is on that can catch him red handed

I really don't care about PVP it's part of the game. I just can't wrap my head around why there seems to be so many people (hackers, griefers, hill snipers, etc.) that seem to actually be proud of the fact that they make the game un-fun to play for people.

Why is this fucking community so proud of making the game miserable for people?

Well guys... it happened again. Turns out I have NVG's again. and apparently BOTH an M4A3 CCO, AND an M4A1 CCO SD on me. I switched through my inv to try and get to a smoke grenade but couldn't find it. So I went to go back to my normal CCO and I saw it said SD but I just thought I had SD rounds in it. I try to turn on my light to gtfo and I'm pressing the button but nothing happens. So I go to first person view and don't seem to see a light on the side. I start scrolling through my guns again and I notice when I get to the normal CCO something was different so I keep scrolling past it and end up on the CCO SD again. So... I apparently have a ghost CCO SD on me, along with NVG's that keep getting magically added to my inventory I didn't find myself. Mag count stayed the same this time. I signed out right after I realized it happened again. I'm about to log back in and see if it's still screwy. EDIT Still in my inv. I actually spawned wearing the nvg's. How do I report this? EDIT #2 Sent a message to the admin of the server over the forums. Offline so he probably won't get it until the AM. Could this even be solved by a server reset?

How do I take screenshots in DayZ? I use six launcher, F12 doesn't work I get a list of commands.

I just finished a session where it was raining so hard it was like a sheet of glass. Then randomly the ENTIRE countryside lit up. I thought the sky just flashed and then the thunder sound... Oh no, there is actual lightning strikes from the sky to the ground. It was amazing. It was pitch black. The only light I had was the light from my M4 CCO. Only had to log off because I need to get to bed. I wish I didn't work so early sometimes so I can play at night more. I like it much better than playing during the daytime. It's sooooo much easier to move around and during a heavy rainstorm, and at nighttime, zeds are practically non-spawning. At least it seemed like it anyway.

Kind of random and I'm not quite sure what you mean but to answer your question yes I am very glad I found this mod. Bought Arma just for it and haven't regretted a second of it. Well I did at the beginning when I was a noob and didn't realize you could just run from zombies to get rid of them.

By FAR my favorite time to play. Can't usually for more than a few hours during the week though cause of work (playing during night I mean). Weekends are "play until my body tells me to gtfo" basically lol. I made a thread last night about playing at night and being in a pretty bad thunderstorm with lightning and everything. I was just east of Berezino at the edge of the woods and the ENTIRE sky lit up. I thought I was getting teleported for a second, then the thunder clapped pretty damn loud. It sounded like the storm was just off the coast to the west but still very close to shore. The last hour when I got to Berezino was the most intense hour of my gameplay so far. I lit up the barrels in front of the tents and searched them with my M4 CCO's light on to help and I could still barely see.

The NWAF barracks and the heli spawn sites can't be the only places to find NVG's. I mean legitimate spawn sites not dead player loot. I've been trying to find some spawned for about a week and a half now. I may join a full server and head to chern-lektro to get some to see what they're like. FYI: I don't usually play on populated servers so there's not many dead bodies to loot. I'm starting to get into the PVP aspect of the mod but I enjoy only being responsible for myself.

This weekend I'm gonna hop on my favorite server and alt/tab to a map of heli crash sites and vehicle spawn points and (try to) visit them all in one session. I know I'll find something useful.

I've been circling the map from the airfields, to starry, and to the berezino tents. Not sure where else has tents.

Found a M4 CCO SD in the NWAF barracks once, picked it up and to check it out, then tried to drop it again to empty my backpack to put it in there (already had a normal CCO equipped, plus I had only 1 mag of SD STANAG as opposed to about 10 normal STANAG) and *poof* into the floor.

Not really. I play solo and got the hero skin this morning. Only killed 2 players due to bad timing and them failing to respond to multiple chat inquiries as to whether they were friendly or not. Even that was about 4 weeks ago when I first started playing. Turns out I was using group chat instead of direct chat, so I'm not entirely sure they even saw what I wrote, but I digress. Earlier this afternoon I had a guy and his friend (I believe he had a friend I heard 2 voices) try to hold me up. To set the scene I was running through the woods heading from the NWAF going to the NEAF. I hear like a "thoomp crunchhhh" noise kind of like a flare it wasn't a gunshot. So I go "Whoa hello?! WTF was that?" over the mic, he asks me what I'm doing way out there and I must be hungry. I can't see him at this point. He asked me where I was heading and I told him the NEAF as I was running away as fast as I could. He followed me so when I stopped to eat he came up on me and started to say "If you unequip your primary... ". Him: Default clothes, makarov. Me: Hero skin, M4A3 CCO set on full auto. I cut him off and pointed out the obvious discrepancy between the guns we were both holding. He sat there pointing his gun at me for a few seconds not saying anything so I asked him if he wanted to sit there all day, he didn't reply so I got up and went about my business. I'm (trying to be) a medic. Haven't actually helped anyone yet due to no global chat. Anyone who you see that doesn't know you and make contact with over direct chat won't trust you, and I don't blame them. It was weird as FUCK for this guy to just start chatting it up with me in the middle of the woods out of nowhere, it really threw me off. The server this was on is my "home server" so to speak, there's usually no more than 10 people on it, and even that would be exaggerating a little. This happened when there was like 38/40 people. So I'm not used to running into people, let alone randomly in the damn woods. The point I want to make is that direct chat isn't enough to make people feel secure enough to even begin to trust you, because, judging by how my encounter went, it's fucking creepy. Say if you see someone ahead of you and you make contact first, chat, mic, however... No matter what you say it's going to be taken like you got the drop on them and they're going to be afraid you want to kill them. Also, vice versa, the unknown player I met got the drop on me very badly. He could've lit me up and I would've been dead before I even stopped running. Looking back that didn't cross my mind but all I knew is he gave me an ultimatum to drop my primary and that wasn't happening. He could've been trying to rob me, or he could've been trying to just chat and didn't feel safe with me having such better gun than him. I didn't give him the chance to explain. I think radios need to be put into the game that allow you to tune to the [RADIO] channel and over the mic anyone who has a radio will hear you no matter how far they are from you. Maybe along with custom channels in 1.2.3.4.5 format. For example a squad can tune to [3.5.4.1.2] and only players on that channel will hear. Just my opinion.

My humanity was at 3250 before I logged off. Then I log back in and it starts at 0 and rises slowly to around 2300. Does that mean my humanity is 5550 now? Or is it still at 3250?

So you think killing random people for no possible reason is helping the game? Are you sure you're not trolling? Bandits who kill cause they're hungry that's making it more tense to go into the big cities... but going prone on a hill in a ghillie with a .50 sniping fresh spawns isn't helping anything, it makes you a douche. Especially when people do it for the hell of it and don't even care to loot. I don't think you're doing the game a service. You certainly wouldn't make my experience better by shooting me in the head with a cannon as I'm rummaging for beans when I have nothing but a hatchet.

I try to help people cause I'm trying to get the hero skin, but I usually play on non-populated servers which makes it extremely hard. I'll usually move if the player count goes over maybe 20-25. Any more than that and you're pretty much guaranteed to run into someone eventually no matter where you go. My humanity is at 3250 right now and I just updated to .5 this morning which brought back humanity. I'm thinking of starting a medic service or joining up with a group to be their medic for a while.

Looking for the owner of the RI server. Saw it today but it's password protected. Not only for the piece of mind that I probably won't get shot in the back but also for the good connection if the server is located in RI. I can PayPal a couple bucks if you'd like me to contribute/show good faith. I'm tired of getting killed by bandits. I asked multiple times in a server earlier if anyone was near me cause I didn't want to come up on someone and panic shoot them. Some guy took that as an opportunity to stalk me and kill me. For no reason other than to see what I had on me. I've tried to make friends with people more than a few times and you just can't trust people. If anyone else from RI wants to message me and team up feel free. I won't kill you, I won't rob you, or anything like that. I usually do my own thing but I haven't played alongside anyone else before and welcome the chance. If you need a transfusion or need help I'll go help. If anything Rhode island is so small we probably know each other. I understand that bandits and the threat of bandits add to the tension and it's awesome but I'm sorry I just don't understand killing someone for no reason other than to get their stuff. Ask them if they have something you need and are willing to help you before you shoot them in the back. That's just my opinion. I'm sure I'm gonna get trolled and flamed for not being OK with ruining other peoples fun cause that seems like the cool thing to do now but it is what it is. Anyway that's my shot in the dark. I didn't know that. I thought it was just a privately hosted server. The server I was just in everyone was trying to meet up, but I got the "no message received in __ seconds" thing and had to abort. WTF.
